  1. 50 cent sales are my bread and butter, lots of nice stuff there! Good haul!
  2. Too lazy to scroll back to see if it's been mentioned yet, but there's a terrific IDW Humble Bundle going right now that includes tons of TF's stuff, as well as their G.I. Joe, Rom, Action Man, etc titles. Even the recent Revolution stuff. You can get a bunch for $1, a little more for $8. I paid $15 and got the entire bundle (you can pay $20 for the comic set with some "trading cards" but I wasn't interested in that.) That's a butt-ton of great reading if you're into these books, for the MSRP of about, what, three or four physical IDW comics? Can't beat the deal.
  3. I kinda like the #51 because of the Lost reference. I do like #70 because of the background. I wasn't aware there are only 4 9.8 (2 are SS). #74 is a winner. Unfortunately I don't have any high grade copies of it I have been having decent luck with snagging Catwoman and Wonder Woman issues for reasonable ($3-$4) to dirt cheap (3 for $1 boxes) at LCSs and local shows the past couple of years. They are still out there to be found in the wild. The key is tracking them down as most stores do not bother restocking the bins when they sell. Yup, this. I still routinely pick these up out of $1 boxes, sometimes big runs. I pick up any AH or Bolland cover I can find for $1 if it's in decent shape. The only CW book I never find is 51, so I guess even the dollar diggers are hip to that one. 74 is out there, though.
  4. $167.50 final gavel price...and it isn't even her 1st appearance...amazing. #8 is her 1st 'real' appearance. Glad I decided to keep picking these up in $1 boxes when I see them. Am also sitting on a stack of 8's I can barely give away.
  5. Awesome, thanks so much! I knew it was something fairly obvious that I just couldn't dredge up out of the dark corners of my brain. Much appreciated!
  6. You know, I'm not sure, I'll have to take a look when I get home!
  7. Had a good time at an estate auction last night. No comics, but picked up several toys that are at least tenuously comic related! Got a giant box of board games for $10, which included this Superman game from 1965. The outer box is worn, but the interiors are minty fresh. Looks like it was never played with, as the game pieces are still sealed in a baggy, the cards are unpunched, and the spinner and gameboard are in gorgeous shape. Love the artwork on the board. Got a box of military figures, including these G.I. Combat guys that I don't see around these parts very often, if at all. Got a giant box of totally random plastic toys. Included a big box of toy horses that I'll give my niece, and lots of random bits. I was primarily interested in the Pogo figures (needed Albert for my collection) and the Marx Wolfman. Can anyone identify the purple brain alien-looking guy? I feel like it's probably something obvious like Star Trek or Outer Limits or something. And a random assemblage of dollbabies. Those Rocky's are worth a lot more than I would have thought. And who can't use a Cheryl Ladd doll? They had tons of weird random dolls, Dolly Parton, Dorothy Hamill, Marla Gibbs...some weird stuff. They had a Brooke Shields cheerleader outfit, but no Brooke Shields! Oh well. It was a fun night for junk hunting. I was underbidder on a mosc Mego Hulk (which was the whole reason I went in the first place) but the price got about FMV so I didn't bite.
  8. Well if you can only have one, that's a pretty great one to have!
  9. It's true, I still pick these out of bargain bins quite often. The 50's are always gone, but I've found all of the rest of them during the last couple of years for $1 or less. Supplies are starting to dry up, though as more and more folks get into this awesome cover run. I buy every AH cover I see, as well as every Bolland WW.
  10. Looks like my decision to sell my 9.8 back when the movie news hit was a solid one, as I got close to a grand for it. Meanwhile, my decision to sell my BA 12 9.8 when Suicide Squad was announced is looking worse and worse...
  11. Ugliest hot modern ever? Tie That one is ugly relative to the insane price. If it was a 25 cent book, I'd at least find it amusing. But that puke yellow on the Shield variant seals the "Ugliest Overall" deal for me.
  12. Holy , that's a goldmine. I'd be torn over whether to sell 'em or keep 'em though, so cool!
  13. I've also found that one at a HPB for $1 within the last year. Just goes to show, it's always worth digging!
  14. No jaw-droppers, but I did fish some winners out of the 50 cent bins at a LCS sidewalk sale this weekend. I especially like the chunk of X-Men non-foil variant covers and newsstands. Not worth a lot, but I don't run into them often. The Catwoman 1 is also interesting. Must have been from a shop or retailer signing, it is a numbered edition of 5000, and signed by four creators including Balent and Giordano. No COA or anything, but again, for 50 cents, seemed like a solid pickup.
  15. There's an ape on the cover? Well I'll be darned. I must have been distracted by...something.
  16. My pickups from Cincy Comic Con this weekend. The nicer books: And a couple of readers with fun covers
  17. Awesome! J.R.Jr. doesn't seem to get a lot of love around here, but I've always really loved his Wolverine. Terrific piece!
  18. Thanks for the tip, I am after anything as long as it is to scale and fairly accurate to the original movie. EDIT: Found a guy who can make one from the original molds. Awesome, can't wait to see it once you get it! The Creature rocks!
  19. Well then, here they are! And yes, Hector, you and I are definitely on the same wavelength, brother!
  20. Did a lot of hunting during the holiday weekend, but didn't turn up a lot (except I bought a ton of blu rays, but that's for a different forum!) Lo and behold, a trip to HPB 20% off sale yielded a more-interesting-than-usual result. I realize mid grade common TTA's aren't going to set the world on fire, but for around $5 each I thought they were nice. I dig the date stamps and marks on the books. I also picked up a Wolverine Origins 10 and some Turner Supergirls for a buck each, not pictured because who cares?
  21. Not sure about prepainted, but I'm sure I've seen garage kits out there of full Universal Monsters heads/busts, when I've gone to Wonderfest. I'm not handy with model kits so I don't buy them, but I like to look. But I've definitely seen them out there. I don't have any leads, but maybe search creature garage kit and see what turns up, if you're interested in going that route.
  22. There is a veritable flood of Batman Animated merch coming out these days (thanks Rule of 25!) so it's easy for pieces to slip through the cracks. But I think I'm going to be getting this series of Premiere Statues sculpted by Clay Moore. I got Ivy this week and she's gorgeous. Those deceptively simple Bruce Timm designs are rendered so beautifully. Sorry, iPad pic. And with her "big sister" for scale.
  23. That was a great series, I also sold mine several years ago. Man, if I'd kept all of the early Sideshow stuff I used to have, I'd be sitting pretty now. Awesome piece man!
