Ghost Rider #23 cover (Jack Kirby and John Romita Sr.) from the last Heritage auction...my first piece of Kirby art!
-
I would have thought it may reach $45K but with a high reserve it probably won't sell
The first DD cover with Elektra to hit public auction, (and one of the most memorable "key issue" covers at that)? And you think it will sell for as little as a good Dark Knight panel page?!? I strongly disagree.
cough cough

Just this year I started pronouncing "Fitty Cent" the right way, but I still put it in quotes. I have a long way to go.
damn, I thought it was "Fiddy Cent", I'm even more out of touch.
-
How does it differ from Duchamp's Fountain which is just a Urinal signed R.Mutt on its side? One could argue that Lichtenstein's work is of a similar nature, he chose the panel and subsequently breathed new life into the artwork.

You know, what's funny is that this cover sold privately over the summer for six figures
I thought that the price of 188 was strong but this went for the same or more??

Covers which have 2 separate images making up the cover, tend to sell on the low side, wonder if the reserve will reflect that.

This is one TEC issue I've been waiting a LONG time to finally peg. Needless to say, I'm looking forward to adding it to the collection when it comes in the mail!
Now, I have the second appearances of Robin, Lex Luthor, Joker & Catwoman! Let's go Team 2nd Best!

You will notice that I don't choose pages like most OA lovers. Most guys go for the most technical pages or the action pages or double splash spreads. Not me. I looooove the pages that convey emotion.
Rob Guillory (Chew)
Chew 10 page 21 - My first piece of OA. I liked the scene of them talking on the phone. The hearts around Tony sealed the deal.
Chew 13 page 8 - Second page I'd ever bought. Again, another Tony and Amelia page. This time, they are kissing. AND John Colby is on this page showing some of his typical crazy looks AND the final panel as well as the little Guillory add-ins show the humor in the title.
Chew 10 page 22 - Since I had previously bought the first page above, I inquired on the page after and got a good enough deal on it. I think it's pretty cool that I have the last 2 pages of this issue.
Chew 14 page 15 - My only action page! Mason Savoy taking out John Colby and Tony comforts him. This scene shows a rare caring side to Colby and Tony's sympathy. Love it!
Dynamo 5 Holiday Special VARIANT cover! Love, love, love this! Guillory doing one of the best team books ever. Screw all you guys that didn't buy it!!!!!!
Paolo Rivera
Amazing Spider-Man 638 page 41 - My First Spidey Page!!!! AND it's an ASM page!!!!! This page perfectly captures the whole tone of the OMIT storyline. Heck! It really captures the tone of everything since One More Day (which I liked!)!!!!! LOVE, LOVE LOVE me some Spidey, !!
Love Chew, Great pages

Quite the chunk taken out.
thank god you didn't make a little vowel misspelling in the middle word above. no telling how many pages, threads, indeed FORUMS we may have lost.
I'm sure Billy is and well ejdumacated intelligent individual who knew exactly what phrase he wished to use.
It's fun to push buttons of boardies, especially newbs. Can't blame him for doing that.

I've had this cover a long time. I had it framed for most of the time it's been in my possession, but last year I took most of the artwork off my walls while my house was being put up for sale.
As we're now poised to move house in the near future, it's time to get artworks back into their old frames . . .
John Severin ALARMING TALES # 6 (last issue), November 1958
