No, the conduct standards are the same for everyone.

 

Right now, he is ignorning everyone that paid him, and really should be on that HOS list soon.

I didn't think there were any specific standards for the HOS, but my point would be that the average member who had done not delivered stuff and then come onto the thread promising to sort everything and breaking his own deadline would already be in the HOS and there would be a 39 page thread in comics general about what a wanker he was was.

We at least know LTS can get to a post office as Thing received some baby blankets, and a nice gift it was, but as for Danimal?

Hopefully, either Dan on his own or his girlfriend kicking some sense into him will resolve the situation.

Ok guys I had to come on here after I heard about this thread. I am very sorry for all of this. I know I messed up and let some of the things I need to ship go WAY too long and without communication after I got back from Michigan.

 

I was basically embarassed and just wanted to PM everyone individually this weekend and get everything out this coming week and refunds if needs be on friday when I get paid.

 

Please don't hold this against my girlfriend...this has absolutely nothing to do with her. If anything she just yelled at me and told me I have to go on here and fix everything.

 

Like I said, mostly just embarassed so I stayed away until I had the means to ship everything. Not going to go into the entire thing about why my life halfway sucks but with both of us losing our cars, it's been a struggle just to get both of us to work. And with bills and an upcoming court date for some old collections debt, I've just been depressed and trying to figure everything out. Things are looking a lot better though and without my girlfriend I'd literally have nothing good going on right now.

 

I will PM everyone I still owe and get this settled with tracking numbers this week. I have no intentions of ripping anyone off and running...like where am I going to run? I really have no interest in this forum after getting this taken care of but my girlfriend does, and I don't want to ruin it for her.

 

So please, if you guys can be gracious enough to give me this week to fix things, I promise you will won't be discussing this anymore very soon other than to say it's all set. Again very very sorry. I don't want to bore people with details of woe so I'll leave it at that.

What gets me is he spent a lot of time smearing 2 other boardies before he did this. I will take my lumps for not seeing he was a potential problem.

 

It's understanding that people run into problems once in a while. That much can be forgiven. But to not ship books originally, come on here and say he'll take care of everything and then turn around and not ship the books again is truly unforgivable.

Obviously I have caused a bit of offence and none was intended towards LTS, my comment was a slightly jokey pointed barb at Danimal for his transgressions on the board, in hindsight if I had known it would upset LTS then I probably wouldn't have made the comment.

However; we should not forget that about Danimal in this thread, so far we have learnt that he is a serial offender on these boards whose greatest contribution on these boards was to call out Yannis for not selling someone a book (something that happens to Roy on a weekly basis from what I hear), something he himself had done back in 2003.

He has also stated that he is "done" with these boards so as far as I can tell he is an untrustworthy hypocrite who time on these boards has hopefully come to an end.

Danimal has had a very soft time on these boards probably because no-one wishes to upset LTS, but comments will still be made

I finally got my stuff a couple of weeks ago from him, it was a month late....

I've been far to busy(lazy) to dig out and scan my books,but I just can't resist this thread any longer,it is after all my favorite mini run in the GA.

 

28- I bought this book from a very good friend several years ago for a price that slightly threatened our friendship just kidding Jimbo.. actually looking at the current state of the market I think I did just fine.It is low grade & unrestored,but has a married CF.I'm just happy to have a copy of what most consider the hardest issue to find.

 

 

29-Around a dozen years ago I traded a stack of cool GA books with a dealer in Canada,and this is one of the books I received.I was nervous about this deal since I hadn't seen any pics of what I was getting,only a description over the phone.The book has some slight resto which he noted,but he forgot to mention it has untouched white pages

 

 

30-This is the very 1st Detective I ever purchased.Might seem strange to some as it doesn't even have a Bat cover,but I was fully aware what awaited inside.I traded what would likely have been a 9.6 FF 10 plus some loot to Harley.Looking back now I should have kept the FF,but it was way before the advent of CGC,and in those days it was actually hard to trade SA for GA It's a beautiful unrestored copy,but I had Matt Nelson remove a small piece of tape that was over the lower staple some years back.

 

 

31- I believe most of us can thank Gator for adding a Tec or two to our collections.This one came from him in Chicago a few years ago.Had to hide any trace of what I spent on it from anyone I know because they'd surely think I am completely insane.

 

 

32-Crippen copy purchased from Heritage right before Gator got seriously involved and started driving up the prices for the rest of us

 

 

34- Nice little book I bought from Ciorac,for a very fair price.Unrestored and never slabbed-Thanks again BIll!

agreed, I have yet to see any price pull back on Batman covered, pre robin Tecs...even the non bat covered tecs seem to be consistent, though not 100% in the upward direction...

grade for grade, Tec 29 and 31 sell almost neck and neck, followed by Tec 35, followed by tec 33, followed by 36 and then 37 (I left non bat covers out)...

FMV conclusion would seem to point to 31 as probably "winning" the race, but 29 is almost interchangable at this point

since many many of these books sell privately, GPA will never fully capture the market... I will be submitting a lot of sales of tec 27,29,31,33,35, 36 and 37 (as well as others) to GPA, and that will help clear the picture up...maybe I am fortunate to have a lot of sales info the public doesn't

but, if you review gpa, tec 31 is the winner, followed by 29, then 35, then 33

Imran has posted and echos my sentiment...I believe 1koko and Andre and Primetime and Ronaldo, etc are well qualified to comment (as having put the entire run together)... I think folks on the boards know that I have bought and sold more pre robin tecs than any active member of the boards (and no I don't count metro, heritage , clink , they have all sold more than me, but I don't consider them "active" posters like most of us)

I think we can all agree that 33 is very important and that, at the present time,

29, 31, and (perhaps) 35 have "hot" covers.

Will these overtake 33? If so when? And by how much?

31 is very cover driven, 29 is scarcity and cover driven, 35 is scarcity, cover AND what only primetime has pointed out, SPLASH page driven (the best bat splash page there is, imo)... now, that said, much like the 33's origin story, the 35 splash is only a factor as far as folks "know" it is there, but can't see it

For years, the answer has been: none of the above.

when I figure put my run together, you know the issue I bought first... tec 33...not because I thought it was the best or whatever (I do love it), but because it was the most readily available copy in the market (and still is today)... there is more supply at current prices than demand for 33, when compared to the other "3"...

All the talk in this thread about Tec 33 being underpriced as it is the origin, the 28 needs more love, after all it IS the second appearance of Batman and is rare, especially unrestored. I appreciate the fact it is not a Batman cover, but in terms of cultural significance, the second appearance of a major character like Batman should make it the the most important issue after Tec 27.

I have to mention that it has a pretty cool story as well.

naturally, 28's value probably gives them all a run for their money grade for grade, but that is a different discussion

 

my personal preference is 29...I like it MUCH better than 31...but the market seems to have determined that 31 is the "most" desirable tec comic (outside of 27, which due to price reasons, doesn't often get comparisons)...therefore, personal preference aside, I have to concede that 31 is "better" , even though to me, 29 blows it away...I assume I am in the minority on this, but that is irrelevant
