Tiger's caddy I presume?
Looks like I can't go, I hadn't realised that the wife had already arranged to go to a wedding reception that night, I will try to get out of it, but looks unlikely.

I forgot to post my recent comicconnect win and I thought I would resurrect the original Detective at the same time.
Pretty pleased with the purchase, after all it is a great book
Pretty pleased... PRETTY pleased? That's it?!? Killer book.
well the term Grail means very little on the boards

Tec 38 CGC 7.5 EXP sold for $2,990
I know Robin isn't exactly the most popular character in the world right now...
And I know that EXP PLOD's aren't "quite" as desirable as Universals but...
WOW!
No mention of the Tec 33 that went for $5200?
i wonder if that book has now peaked and is in a death spiral
-
the
Detective Comics #27 CGC 4.0 went for $284,000 Reserve Not Met
1K shy of the $285,000 Reserve
If i had access to the cash, I'd pay that price
285K does seem like a really nice deal on a 4.0 Tec 27, agreed.
Wonder why it didn't meet it?
1mil for an 8.0 ow/w and a 4.0 ow/w can't hit 285K?
I wonder if they would do time payments over 2 years
Ask the bordie who owns it.
I did, and that's not his book

Tec 28 CGC 7.5 went for 35K
A great deal for a sweet book

The Tec 29 must have a high reserve, it's at $37500 and still not hit reserve

Anyway, don't waste my time with such garbage.
Noob?

Damn! There are some awesome books posted in this thread recently
-
Definitely HOS material

Any love for a nice low grade #37?
Definitely!
My addition to the club.
Great book, looks great for a 3.0

Anyone have any new Pre-Robin Tec news to share?
My 28-37 run. Not the greatest picture, but the only one I have before being tucked away.
Nice to finally see the run, I miss some of my books though
-
There are bit-torrent sites with pre Bat detectives, Demonoid or h33t have complete runs of detective comics currently with active seeders

So, in your opinion, what do you guys think is the equivalence of Dr. Who(popularity and longevity) here in the States.
Star Trek?
probably the closest. Battlestar Galactica? Older show that had a successful reboot

They killed Torchwood for me when they had Captain Jack murder an innocent child 'because it was the only way to save everyone else'. That's all but impossible to justify in my book, and the story was light years away from being written well enough to justify it!
Well that's where u miss it Crosby!
Argh! The ultimate put down!
Sorry mate. You left yourself wide open for that one.
That's what Captain Jack said....
-
I can't believe this is still going on....
It's what happens when vocal members of the board commit transgressions and we rarely cut those in the HOS any slack, witness the fury whenever TFL posts.
-
Nevermind Andy, perhaps we can meet up at Birmingham
-
I thought if you were in the HOS, you were in forever, any wasn't he done with these boards?
-
LAst one for my 28-37 run. Thanks to T3quilla and to Rick for bringing it to Chicago

Why are flies so difficult to swat?
