  1. Out of luck. Owner is essentially a crook. Never responded and didn't even refund my security deposit. Why I will never store valuables in a storage unit.
  2. I had a ‘climate controlled’ Storage unit for few years that took in water. Only thing that saved the majority of my furniture was the mattress on the back wall.
  3. I think there are some kids that are still interested. The problem is entry into the hobby, for both kids and adults. $24 to get one complete story ($3.99 comic x 6 part story) that may, in turn, require knowledge of previous story lines versus a .$99 iPhone game app.
  4. An unwitnessed signature can. Any signature not personally witnessed by one of CGC’s representatives is treated as a defect and placed in the green label of death holder. I’m not entirely sure but It maybe possible to ask for a universal blue label with a deduction to the final grade.
  5. Because it was not witnessed and would get a qualified green label of death. Joey post worked wonders on my saga 1 that had a very deep backcover crease. Got a 9.6. He’s an amazing presser.
  6. Detective Comics 850 and Gotham City Sirens (first few issues)
  7. Agree with all points. I somehow managed to avoid the spoilers and was shocked reading Batman 50 yesterday. It was actually a very, very good read and Catwoman 1 looks to be an excellent start to the new series. However, agree that DC really screwed the pooch bad. Pulling like this is what threatens the ongoing viability of the big two and is why more readers, myself included, are now drawn to Image and other publishers. I have no idea what they were thinking but I believe this marks the end of the variant cover collecting craze, as others have already speculated.
  8. I have recently had the experience of buying VF comics from them that were 9.4 or better. On the other side of the coin, I have purchased some NM comics from them that were VF. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of mycomicshop. Just sharing my experience. I believe their grading to be accurate from a buying standpoint over many books when factoring in both under and over graded books.
  9. I recently bought a Batman Beyond #1 (1999 ; first Terry McGinnis) in the new slab on Ebay and it has bad rings. Am probably going to crack it and place in Mylar.
  10. They really should note that the Action 1 is restored in the title description.
  11. I personally think it should be factored into the price. The bigger issue is whether or not vendors can even run a credit card on the convention floor. I passed on some big purchases at Emerald City because many vendors couldn't get a signal to run a transaction and I really don't feel comfortable walking around with a few thousand in cash. Disappointing because I would rather buy at a con versus online.
  12. Can’t go wrong with mycomicshop online.
  13. That could just be how it was cut. Comic production was not as exact back then as it is today and it could have been cut at an angle during production.
  14. Thanks Bob. Doesn’t penetrate cover. Even if it is a stain I’m not sorry for the pick up. Given the old checkered perimeter I didn’t even notice it at first. It does explain why the seller had it priced in Fine condition despite looking almost 9.0 with white pages. Small stains don’t bother me at all and are hammered too harshly by cgc in my opinion.
  15. Picked up a really nice copy of detective 351 yesterday. The book looks 8.5 but appears to have a few very minor stains. However, I can’t tell if they are truly stains, distributor spray, or a production ink defect. Opinions?
  16. I hear ya. Green label is often referred to as the green label of death. A submitter can request the green label but I personally don’t care for the practice. Hopefully you can return the book.
  17. You didn’t buy a 7.5. Qualified means that it would have been a 7.5 if the cover was attached.
  18. Joeypost did amazing work on my Saga #1 that was an eBay “near mint”. Came back cgc 9.6. Highly recommended.
  19. I’ve noticed that newer comics from the last 10 years do not tend to wrinkle regular poly bags like comics from earlier eras printed on cheaper paper. Should these comics still be placed in mylar or do they deteriorate less quickly over time than older comics?
  20. There is a batman 226 cgc 8. 5 currently listed that looks like it took a bath to me. Doesn’t seem right.
