  1. Horwitz! Incredibly beautiful! Like beating the Atlas covers like a toy drum, beautiful. And don't get me wrong, I'm a Syd Shores fan, big time. But this work...it doesn't look like Shores - do you know who drew this? Looks kinda like an Ajax-Farrell studio. And here I was, concerned that your collection was in hiatus, as it were. HA! and nice Fiction house pickup. Bedrock's got the shiznit, that's for sure, man. Thanks Doc and Boot. I have no idea who drew the cover but there are some other nice ones in the run that have a resemblance to some of the Lone Rider issues (Ajax-Farrell). Also the Lone Rider type "draping mask".
  2. A great Millie cover that I haven't seen before. It looks like the starfish is looking up her skirt .
  3. ...and a Cowgirl Romances purchased from Bedrock City.
  4. Spoken like a true son of the south! So a Texan and an Aussie walk into a bar... That's a great looking Church copy, love the yellow cover. Some odd covers in that Dale Evans run ( she rides an elephant and ostrich on other covers). Here are a couple books related to your post. An Australian Black Rider #25:
  5. Now that's a pretty comic and it's definitely a "how much" book. There are some real nice covers in that Animal Comics run.
  6. Thanks Doc, and that's some high grade sugar. Both great books but those grey tone covers really stand out.
  7. I've never noticed this cover before. Great book Marty.
  8. A Graham Ingels cover on that #13. Here are the last 2 of the little 3 issue run that followed the Redskin series.
  9. Nice one Scrooge. I haven't really noticed it before. Marty, I like the Action Comics #8/ N.C. Wyeth feel to the Star Spangled #102.
  10. That's a nice copy to run into. Looks great.
  11. Thanks Tony - Dells are indeed slow, but Kelly's work is quite charming. I completely agree. It's surprising to me how much better these FTP (and related books) covers are in comparison with his contemporaneous WDC&S covers. Almost makes me wonder whether he dashed off the WDC&S covers, while these other books were a labor of love. I'm sure sales of the WDC&S issues were much higher, though. Thanks again guys. I also agree with you on Kelly's WDCS output. There are covers in that run I really like but part of that has to do with the "gag" involved. I much prefer his FTP's, Nursery Rhyme Four Color's, Our Gangs's, Pogo's etc... His best work is just tremendous.
  12. Beautiful, and what a light-hearted fun cover (great shape on that book, too). I picked up issues 1-5 of FTP just this morning from a local collector, going through them now, fun books indeed. Thanks sqeggs and sacentaur (and enjoy the 1-5).
  13. On my short list of favorite Kelly covers. Just all kinds of fun.
  14. Very nice book Doc, strikingly beautiful cover. Should probably post it in Robot-Mans Crime thread too. ...it's on my list of wants too..... great score, Doc. GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) One of my favorite Severin covers. I'm glad you got such a great looking copy.
  15. Thanks. I don't think I saw it before either until it popped up on SuperWorld's sight a few weeks ago. nice one! and rarely seen Thanks Doc and sacentaur.
  16. Thanks. I don't think I saw it before either until it popped up on SuperWorld's sight a few weeks ago.
  17. There sure are a lot of Fox romance comics that start with "My".
  18. Nice splash. You get Speed Carter getting eaten alive and "Great galaxy!" "Sizzlin' stars!" and "Holy atoms!" all on the same page.
  19. Interesting information, thanks. I'm guessing Rawhide Kid #1 (March 1955) didn't have a Seal because it took the place of a discontinued bi-monthly (maybe Crime Fighters).
  20. Thanks guys, and yes, Maneely was great. I highly recommend the Joe Maneely issue of Alter Ego (#28) for those that haven't read it yet. I didn't notice that issue was the last of the pre-codes. Looking at Mike's Amazing World, I see about 2/3 of that months Atlas issues had the Seal.
  21. Those True Vision books are tough to find as pretty as this one. A great cover too.
  22. Nice Blackhawk's path4play, I especially like the #20.
