  1. Thanks jimbo and porcupine. The hardest thing for me was trying to get the 2 white covers (3 and 5) without major tanning problems.
  2. Here's the opposite end of Astonishing #30 on the Atlas spectrum. I recently got this #3 to finish the small 5 issue run that I started looking for when Scrooge posted a group shot a few years ago. Some great art in these and I really like the Robinson covers (especially 2,3 and 5).
  3. Great stuff Flex and I've never seen the Borth Spider Widow's before. I'll definitely have to give those stories a look.
  4. Great to see you posting again. I remember the awesome experience of binge reading the first few years of this thread when I joined the boards. Now that was an eye opener for a novice Golden Age collector. I hope you have many more years of enjoying (and sharing) your spectacular collection.
  5. I only have a low grade Astonishing #30 also (cracked out 4.0) but it's definitely one of my favorites. Here's the splash page from the cool story.
  6. Congrats on completing that cool run. As a Dell fan, it's one I'll try to tackle some day. There are some real stand out covers there. I really like all but #5 and that one reminds me of Fight Comics #1.
  7. A bunch of great books again Doc. Some middle of the night James Taylor also. Great stuff. Here are a couple that go with ones you posted.
  8. Heath and Severin covers. Thanks to jimbo for the #20.
  9. That's a great looking copy. Thanks for the joe, it hit the spot.
  10. Congrats on a great looking copy of that Clue Comics. One of my favorite crime covers.
  11. Very nice. I don't think I've seen that one before. What an awesome looking copy. Love the #6 also Sqeggs. Cow Puncher is a great little series with cool covers and entertaining stories. I especially like "The Devil's Scourge" in #4.
  12. Nothing like a great barroom brawl. That's a great Kirby centerfold. Even looks like Kamandi climbing over the bar to get into the action.
  13. Assuming I paid Jerry via PayPal, which I have almost always used to pay for anything, I could probably dig up the transaction, among my many thousands (unfortunately). The back of the Mylar had this label which I have zoomed up. Does anybody recognize this as either Jerry's writing or store? "O'Leary's Books"? I'm pretty sure the label is from the O'Leary's just south of Tacoma, Washington that closed about 10 years ago. Correct. Ron got married 31.12.1999 in New Zealand and moved to Australia where he's teaching at a small country town. How do I know? I was Best Man. What a small world sometimes.

  15. The comic the kid is holding is The Comics #1 (first Tom Mix). I could only get a few of the other photo (pretty sure I'm right). #2= Krazy Kat #4= Barney Google #7= Andy Gump (The Gumps) #8= Walt Wallet (Gasoline Alley) Interested to see who the others are.
  16. Terrific books, as always, Caleb. The Astonishing 30 is A+ in my book, especially. A bunch of great books being posted today. I'm sure Astonishing #30 would make my short list of favorite Atlas PCH covers and I can't imagine there are many better copies than this one.
  17. I really like those "name" collections and Paul obviously enjoyed all kinds of different comics. Great stuff.
  18. Thanks Sqeggs and Robot Man. I haven't seen that NW Mounties before. Nice book. Those "Paul" books are taking over the boards .
  19. I bought a great book from Phil and he shipped it off quickly and well packed. I'll definitely keep an eye out for another one of his sales threads.
  20. At least Baker westerns are still affordable. For some reason, my cheapo scanner sometimes produces an ugly moire pattern (I think that's what it's called) on the scan and I need to bring out the camera. Very irritating.
  21. A couple recent pick-ups. I like the Colletta True Tales but the Hartley cover is one of my favorites. I'd love to find a nice copy without the edge tanning in the white area some day.
  22. This is another one I really like, though I wish there was no dialog. Love those blue eyes.
  23. +1 Another batch of great ones. Fox sure didn't think they could have too many titles with the word "My" in it. The My Confession #7 is just a tremendous cover and I'm sure I'll find a high grade copy any day now. It reminds me of Eisner's Spirit #22 cover that came out a year later.
