  1. The detail in the policeman and car is definitely well done. I also like the overall dark and gloomy atmosphere of the cover. The dark clothed policeman, rainy night and grey smoke from the tires. Does anyone know what kind of car that is?
  2. Nice Lone Rangers Hepcat. BB-Gun, the interior shots are always appreciated. Yours will make me search out a few Dale Evans comics.
  3. A couple recent pick-ups. Sorry the Teen-Age Romance #81 isn't Golden Age but I liked the combo of the black and white Colletta covers.
  4. 3 great books comicjack. The AMF v2#4 and 5 are two of my all time favorite Centaurs.
  5. Ha, that's a lizard with some character. I assume it took some frequent claw trimming to keep your chest from being shredded.
  6. Great group shot. Hopefully the lizard didn't roll over before you removed the books. I have the CI Ten Commandments issue but the others are still on my want list. The Ten Commandments has some great art by Norman Nodel. Oh, and I don't expect to ever sell the Bible Tales #2. Though I will send it your way if I ever upgrade or quit comics to become a stamp collector.
  7. Nice alphabetical Atlas group shot and the #3 looks nice from here.
  8. The #2 is my favorite also. My copy is probably the same one you saw on the Metro site. I bought it a couple years ago. Definitely the best of any of the five issues I've had a chance to buy. My 1,2 and 4 are in the 5.0 to 6.0 range.
  9. Here's the Robinson cover for #2 and an Everett and Maneely page from the same issue.
  10. I really like this 5 issue run also. Great art (including the Robinson covers) and agree with you that #1 is the easiest and #5 is the hardest to get (at least in decent shape). I have 1-4 but still haven't found a decent looking #5. A lot of the books I've seen have heavy tanning. I'm pretty sure Scrooge posted a group shot somewhere a few years ago.
  11. That's a great looking copy of a great book. I only have a VG copy but it's a neat read. I think it has 11 six page stories that all have crimes and murders similar to CDNP comics but just not as bloody. At least half of the stories even say "crime does not pay" at the end. Absolutely nothing like the typical Dell comic.
  12. Some nice Buscema (2) and Shores inside, including the origin and first appearance of the Apache Kid (Buscema).
  13. I'd definitely consider the double cover Mister Mystery a "big gun". Great book.
  14. What an awesome run of books. I remember when you bought the Planet #1. Was that the first book of the run you bought or did you already have a few?
  15. That requires exceptional effort on the part of AdamStrange and can only occur in an especially tranquil location, free from the distractions and cares of everyday living. As soon as the KickStarter is funded for the 3 month stay at the Tahitian 5star resort, work will commence. It's not for me, it's for the children. Understandable though. There are a lot of PCH books to choose from. Top 20 lists were done in the Centaur thread but that was a piece of cake comparatively.
  16. Although Darth chose issue 18 for his list (which I also like), this is the cover I would have picked for the greater "chill" factor. A nice all around composition. The eerie reflection in the water is creepy and the cheek shading on the monster seems to elongate his mouth into a gruesome grin. (thumbs u Ok... With that kind of sharp analysis, I'd like to see Jaymans top 25! Any one else? I'm afraid our lists would be all too similar except for these slight nit-pickings here and there. As Adamstrange mentioned, there could be 25 more that could fit into this twisted category. Certain covers pull out stronger reactions from collectors and you've got a keen eye spotting some of the best! Thanks again for putting this together. I will be looking forward to the next Twisted Turnout! (thumbs u I would put at least one of the Briefer's Frankensteins in a top 50 but am reasonably indifferent as to whether it is issue 18 or 24. I think a case easily be made for 19 as well with it's full-body image of Franky set in front of a classic haunted house/cemetery backdrop. That's another one of my favorites. I just bought a copy last week that hasn't come in yet but it's not anywhere near as good as your spectacular copy. By the way, I would love to see an adamstrange top 50 PCH list.
  17. Thanks Darth and I also love when good art gets the "full cover" treatment. I can't tell how many times I've seen an EC cover and thought, "If only"...
  18. Great photos nearmint. I especially like the two where kids are selling comics on the side of the road. Reminds me of the old lemonade stand days.
  19. Briefer did some great Frankenstein covers, but this one is my favorite. Just recently read one of the Frankenstein reprint books and I love the stories also.
  20. Thanks rjpd and Marty, it is a "striking" cover.
  21. Great choice on this one as it been on my radar for quite a while now. Very iconic cover and did you look close and notice the ever so tiny ant sized victims falling from the snakes mouth. A very tough book to find in HG and I'm still searching... I've had #8 on my list for a while also. The cover image from #8 originally comes from the first story of issue #3.
  22. Thanks for another group of 25 cool books Darth Corgi. I enjoyed the countdown and the write-ups.
  23. One of my favorite Maneely western covers, even with the horse crawling up the cliff. It's the only comic in my collection with tape on it (upper left), but it was just too pretty to pass up.
  24. That JIUW #14 is a cool book. I love the Everett splash and how could anyone not want to read a Wolverton story.
