  1. Scrooge first recommended this book in a post a few years ago and I finally got around to picking one up (from boardie cmcfan). A great 18 page Heath story about "gun-crazy owlhoots who deal in human flesh". (Bringing people illegally into the US, not the sex trade).
  2. I like that title too. BTW 11 is one of the few comics that I still have from the fifties. I have purchased several other issues and I think this scan is from BTW 3 but it isn't my scan. However, I am amused by the scenes with the Ghost Rider in the snow. Sullivan must have had an ink shortage at the printers. ...or Ayers was influenced by a Cezanne exhibit Thanks BB-Gun and Scrooge. Due to the issues that show multiple comics on the cover, I always assumed this series was just reprinting other comics. Looking forward to getting a few issues.
  3. That 63 is really nice # 3 of Straight Arrow is more in demand than # 2 ... - I like this cover. The bear has muscles on his muscles. Reminds me of Single Series #20 (Tarzan cover).
  4. Great books guys. Keep them coming. Here are a couple with Maneely covers (Heath and Shores interiors on the #63). I really like all the action on the #64 cover, especially the guy taking a header from the roof.
  5. Congrats, though I wouldn't hold my breath on another Lone Ranger movie. I really like these earlier issues with the Gollub covers and Indian portrait backs. I was the under bidder on this one .
  6. Nice one. I just checked this out on GCD. Crandall, Sultan, Anderson and Gustavson art. I'll definitely be picking up a few from this series. I hope the stories don't stink.
  7. That's a great cover. I don't think I've seen a gun smoke lasso before.
  8. I'm pretty sure I remember Fishler posting it in the Centaur thread.
  9. I like the Four color westerns jmg. Some nice books there and a couple I still need.
  10. From Redskin #12 to Famous Western Badmen #13-15.
  11. I love the dueling banjos Mary Marvel covers. Beautiful books.
  12. A great book, but the mailer makes it special. I never knew about the lack of address or zip code either. Interesting stuff.
  13. Mizz would jump ala with a win over auburn. which is sad - their only win against a current top 25 team is Aggie who checks in at 24 and is 4-4 in conference play. A lot of luck in their run this year. I'd put money on Alabama against any team in the country on a neutral field but they lucked out in their schedule also. They only played 3 teams currently ranked (beat LSU and A & M, lost to Auburn). They avoided the top 5 teams from the SEC east.
  14. Nice books. Was Kelly still doing the Our Gang stories at this point? I haven't read any of the issues before but the Kelly covers seem to call my name every once in a while. Was tempted to bid on the bound copies Heritage just auctioned.
  15. No way does Auburn get in over undefeated Ohio St. Auburn has one great win but also a loss, an absolute luck game (Georgia) and tough ones against Washington St. and Miss St. Besides Alabama, the only other win they have over another currently ranked team is A & M (assuming they squeak in at 24 or 25 tomorrow). That resume just does not scream "put me ahead of an undefeated Big 10 team". By the way, I can't stand Ohio St. or the Big 10.
  16. Congrats. This is one of my favorite westerns (I have a 7.5 also). First appearance of RR and a cool blue sky background.
  17. That's a spectacular book. One of my two favorite Schomburg covers (along with Daring Mystery Comics #1). Here is a better scan of the book from when I used to own it That does look better but on the other scan you can play checkers on Subby's chest.
  18. That's a spectacular book. One of my two favorite Schomburg covers (along with Daring Mystery Comics #1).
  19. I haven't read the original version of Ivanhoe yet, but Norman Nodel did an excellent job with his version which first showed up on HRN #136. Here are a couple pages from that issue.
  20. Great stuff Boot. I especially like these World Illustrated's. Never seen them before.
  21. Look on the floor. One piece always falls on the floor. Cool puzzle by the way.
  22. One of my favorite Planet covers and a beautiful book. It would even meet adamstrange standards.
  23. Thanks for the link to the story BZ. My dad used to read Little Lulu when he was younger but this is the first story I've read. Great stuff. I got a good laugh from the panel with Lulu's mom eying the axe.
