  1. :Nods: I now have to send back a book and spend money out of my pocket (that I don't have) and with all the stress and money lost. I learned my lesson. WTFOMGBBQ?You talk about stress and money lost? Do you realise what agreeing to buy a book and not following through can do to people? They are selling books as they are relying on that money, yet you don't see a problem with not paying them. And then you want sympathy from us because you have to pay some return shipping?? Shut your whining and go find another forum to pizz off. And try to understand that how you feel now is how the people you've buggered have felt when you haven't bought their books and not cared. Or was that your flatmate? Hey BucOne, I've got your back. Did the leg work for you and found you a new forum. Here's your Link. (thumbs u
  2. There were five printings of the San Francisco Comic #2, but since they are all exactly the same, they are all considered first prints in the underground comix collecting community. I assume you probably bought these from Don Donahue (apexnovelties) as these are books he regularly lists on eBay. Yes, that's exactly right. Good experience, seemed to be a straight seller.
  3. This topic of making a profit has been discussed at length in other threads. You have a right to say whatever you feel is right, but I don't think it'll help your case regarding the probation thread. It’s been my experience that when someone doesn’t have integrity enough to honor their word in a transaction, they are also unlikely to have enough to know that they are being a punk by mud-slinging and bringing in others in to share the weight of their personal strife.
  4. Here are a couple that I picked up last week. Both are said to be first prints (almost certain the WW #1 is, still not sure about the SFC #2). The SFC #2 is about a 9.4/9.6 and the WW #1 is a 9.6 with an outside shot at 9.8.
  5. Kudos (again) to EggsAckley for going to the vault and pulling me a sweet copy of Cherry Poptart #2! Always great to do business with Howard
  6. The fabric store clerk that sells Peter Parker all that Red and Blue fabric and never says a word
  7. Long overdue KUDOS to EggsAckley (Howard) for a couple nice deals on Cherry books.
  8. I'll be listing some BA superhero and a few horror books tonight. Will be adding books through the weekend. Whatever I can dig out. May throw a few silver out as well. Probably start around 9ish
  9. Kudos to greggy for a bunch of nice BA books. Fast shipping, great packaging, and phenomenal follow-up. Not sure why he takes so much grief...seems to be super guy Kudos to zuckuss2003 for a bunch of nice x-men books Kudos to ft88 for some nice BA #1's (belated...sorry Ed ) Finally....major Kudos to EggsAckley for turning me on to Cherry with a super nice variant copy of one-fisted tales #3
  10. Kudos to spiderman-on-tilt for a super nice modern x-men run and some other moderns that were packaged great! 11. It was only because of the community's good graces toward you, that you're not a permanent member on the list. This is an interesting comment, as I would have thought that the reason that he was not on the list is because he completed the transactions that he had originally defaulted upon. It has always been my understanding that completing the transactions to the satisfaction of those who were afffected was the only way to get removed from the list. I was not aware that there was a community good graces subchapter. There shouldn't be - if you're on the probation list and make good on your commitments (or the offended party forgives your transgression(s)), you're taken off the list. End of story. I was here back when the probation list started and It was started by Diva himself because someone did't pay him. He wasnt worried about anyone else just himself. He has never changed. He only worries about himself and thats it. Just like how he craps on peoples sale thread and when its done to him he has a fit. I'm glad it happen to him now he knows how it feels. Is English a third language for you?!? You are my hero. Can you please teach me ! ? I doubt it. I thought you are were an English Major,. yYou seem to act like one. Sorry for the corrections. One more, however ; would have also worked.
  12. It never ceases to amaze me that I live in Ohio and have no idea when the Mid-Ohio Con is. Not that I scour the web for con dates or anything but sheesh, not a peep about it. Do they even advertise for that thing? Supposedly they have locked in on the first weekend of October for at least the next few years. Long term deal with the convention center? Speaking of which, the con is always downtown at the Columbus Convention Center.
  13. Also picked up about 75 BA/SA books from some $3 boxes, below are few
  14. Picked this beauty up at the Mid-Ohio con this past weekend, fills a big hole between 5 and 600
  15. Oh dear, the Internets are not equipped for a list of that magnitude. Of course, someone could just copy and paste Cal's list. Think it would be a lot smaller than (correct usage?) you might think. Have a vetting/resolution process with some respected board members, put some teeth to it (lose ability to buy..sell...both?)....*spoon* would stop or at the very least become rare. From what I've seen, the folks that are stirring up trouble usually have 1k + posts. They want to be here with the ability to buy/sell. Put that at risk and you have a chance to police the board and make sure there is nice play in sales threads. Non-sales threads are fair game
  16. I certainly understand what you are saying. Whether a question about pressing in a thread is acceptable etiquette as opposed to a PM is a completely different issue. I certainly would do it via PM if I had such a question. My OP asked about this type of activity in a thread that has proactive disclosure, since that was the shibboleth of the anti-pressing crowd for years. Since PEP hasn't come on to support Bosco's theory that he was merely trying to find out some general information about pressing; , I am going to continue to assume that he has a BS axe to grind, and continue to assert that he chose to grind it in a rude fashion. People that act that rudely deserve to be called out, big time. I hear you and I understand what your saying. I'm fine with them being called on it. Just feel strongly that the calling out is as disruptive to a sales thread as the question itself. Take away their platform/attention and you stand a better chance of stopping it. There should be a hall of *spoon* list. I'm new, but I watch the probation list so that I know who the dead-beats are on here. Should be a thread where folks that are acting like jerks can be publicly humiliated.
  17. Because they can be. I don't care for pressed books but jezusHchrist I won't sabotage a fellow boardies sales thread. If it's important to know about a book, PM the seller. There is no need to start mess in a sales thread(usually). But it is worse than that. There is nothing to PM about. He clearly states that it is pressed. Not this book may have been pressed, or might have been pressed or any intimation that the Pressing Fairy may have dryhumped it. It clearly says it was pressed. So why f with him? There was an incident in another sales thread and the poster probably should have sent a PM. I wasn't just referring to one sales thread. My bad for not being clear. Peckershiners The seller has every right to chose whether to disclose or not just as the perspective buyer has every right to ask. However, that doesn't give the perspective buyer the right to ask in a manner that brands every book in the sales thread with a scarlet letter "P" just for the hell of it. I don't think enough credit is being given to the folks reading the threads and looking to buy. Is the thought that the person asking the question is the only one wondering about pressing when a high-grade book is posted? Really? I'd say someone that can drop $500 on a mid-sixties 9.6 Spidey is already thinking about the possibility when he throws up the More likely is the fact that the one dumping in the thread is just the only one with attitude enough to try to disrupt the thread. Read their rhetoric, remind yourself how you don't want to come across, and move on. Ever been to a Wal-Mart and watched a mom beat the *spoon* out of their kid for acting up? Who you are you whispering about to your honey? The kid or the mom? Don't be the mom in someone’s thread either. Just to make sure I'm clear...I don't think anyone should be posting a pressing/price/degrading question in someone's sales thread. However, I also don't think there should be four pages about how much of a *spoon* someone is for posting the question. Read it, send a PM and tell the person how much of a *spoon* they are if you want, but don't make it a spectacle for them. Everyone holds responsibility in keeping the board from becoming a Wal-Mart. Since reading comprehension appears to be an issue: THE SELLER EXPLICITLY SAID THAT IT WAS PRESSED. THERE WAS NO QUESTION TO ASK. HE TOLD EVERYONE THAT IT WAS PRESSED. Then, a person with an apparent agenda decided to f with the Seller who had proactively (that means without anyone having to ask) disclosed the pressing. If you are talking about KOR's thread, that is not what is being discussed. Although that was a bunch of wildly_fanciful_statement, too. I read both threads before posting. I don't think the question was appropriate in either, whether pressing was disclosed or not. I also don't think multiple posts about how much of a *spoon* someone was for posing the question is appropriate either. Was it really not known that there would be an exchange right there in the sales thread?
