  1. When I mentally compare this book to the Pacific Coast AF15 CGC 6.5, CGC's weight on chipping is consistent; the Pacific Coast book's chipping is definitely twice as bad as this 7.5 on ebay. If you notice...that 7.5 has some light pieces holding onto it's life along the top right corner. I would be to get it re-holdered.
  2. I agree, that Showcase 4 will eventually sell.
  3. It's always been hard for me to find raw DC pre-1965 in 9.4+, and even harder in 9.2+ pre-1960.
  4. I remember that 8.0, that is why it only went for 58K or so... I just dislike marvel chipping...really distracts from the book...hence, the only reason I will buy non marvel chipping copies (thumbs u You can also say that to the AF15 7.5 on ebay right now. (thumbs u I didn't see a 7.5 on ebay this morn, when I checked... but, that is one area I totally disagree with cgc on... you can't "allow" chipping when there are many copies that are not chipped... in other words, an 8.0 should display the same characteristics... to me, that 8.0 with chipping is a 4.0 (or whatever)...and should be graded as such... back in the day, marvel chipping was taken into account in the grade (thumbs u Here's the listing. Wow, very heavy CHIPPINGS on the side. http://cgi.ebay.com/AMAZING-FANTASY-15-MARVEL-AUGUST-1962-CGC-7-5_W0QQitemZ120525359819QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item1c0fdf0acb

  6. I always enjoy those BIG Spidey group pictures. (thumbs u
  7. right now (again, this is based on supply and demand) 29 in 4.0 is a 19-20K book 31 in 4.0 is a 20K book 35 in 4.0 is a 15K book 33 in 4.0 is a 12-14K book I definitely agree with your and Ben's estimations as well. Thanks! don't forget my commissions And the taxes.
  8. So then it did have some hard to find in high grade major keys like Iron Man #1, Iron Man Sub-Mariner #1, Incredible Hulk #102, Avengers #57, Sub-Mariner #1, Captain Marvel #1, etc. The later and not as scarce Marvels. yeah I think its either post 1963 or 1964 that MARVEL are in plentiful supply, It could explain why Daredevil in mid-grade doesn`t go for more. That and the fact that the character is a 3rd or 4th tier one now. (thumbs u
  9. I have an aversion to trailer parks. but I had this one picked out for our office It's one of the place you have your computer huh?.
  10. It met reserve at $51K? where was the book auctioned? i never even saw it? ComicLink.
  11. Well done. Very solid 6.0 and great PQ. (thumbs u It's like my AF15 little brother. unfortunately for me as a collector, I bought the collection to resell (need inventory for shows, etc)...but maybe I will price it strong enough that I get to keep it Strongest 6.0, I've seen in a while.
  12. Sigh. Sorry Tim, you may be disappointed with me, but I don't agree with your logic about shopping it around. It has been offered on my website and ebay store and appeared in perhaps one auction every year or 18 months. Anyone who bothers to check the census, or read the description, will know it is the ONLY copy that exists in grade. And anyone willing, or able, to spend that kind of money will presumably know that it has been or is available for sale. There are very few people out there who can spend that kind of money so I don't see how the book being available and my attempting to sell it through different venues which have different audiences at different times hurts the sales price. When it was in the CC auction it reached something like $75k. I bought it for $62k in 2004. The 9.6 sold for a low $180k I believe and the 9.4 sold for $160k. I don't see why $90k - $100k is not reasonable for a 9.2. I also don't believe in the mechanics that someone apply to prices between 9.6 to 9.4 to 9.2. Perhaps if there were dozens of copies in each grade some fractional application might be appropriate. But when there is ONE copy in each grade I fail to see how any type of percentage really applies. Plus, so far as we know, the 9.4 and the 9.6 are currently out of circulation and who knows when they will be offered again. So this is the highest graded copy available for sale. And, as far as I am concerned, while my price tag is nothing to sneeze at and is only possible for a small group of people having to pay 1 1/2x to 2x that amount for the 9.4 or 9.6 is yet another level up entirely. Of course, anyone is free to disagree and you obviously do, but this is my opinion and I'm sticking to it! Mark, it's your book and you're entitled to do with it what you will. Your arguments make perfect sense on paper, but sometimes theories don't translate into reality. I disagree with your strategy with the book, and the fact that it's still unsold despite your best efforts for the past FIVE YEARS should be telling you that it's time to reassess your strategy. Even Dan Snyder is finally admitting that his approach to owning a football team has been wrong. I could respect you for everything you've said until you added in the Snyder comment!! what are you trying to say, that the ole ballcoach was a mistake
  13. Well done. Very solid 6.0 and great PQ. (thumbs u It's like my AF15 little brother.
  14. Those are very cute Disney characters. My kid would cut that instantly if I didn't tell her that is valuable.

  16. That's why there is plenty of taxi's...and the two story deck buses. not in Florida... Tim would have to commute here
  17. So then it did have some hard to find in high grade major keys like Iron Man #1, Iron Man Sub-Mariner #1, Incredible Hulk #102, Avengers #57, Sub-Mariner #1, Captain Marvel #1, etc. Yes...I remember the Iron Man #1 was a 9.8 and the others were also graded very high.
  18. That's why there is plenty of taxi's...and the two story deck buses.
  19. The collection were mainly 1965+. Pretty much complete runs of all the Marvels from then on. I recall...quite a lot of the Marvels were 9.6 and 9.8.
  20. We should form a partnership, because I can't grade anything below 9.0! Once it leaves the NM-ish range, it all looks like mangled newsprint to me. the HK/"other"Florida Grading company You've done business with folks in HK before, so you know we really exist! I may one day check out Hong Kong. Any cool comic shops?
