  2. 8.5 and 9.0 look a like. I agree 9.2 and 9.4 can be split sometimes. I spot the difference with a 9.6 and 9.8 better. well, let the split be in my favor Again
  3. How far back do they go? #15; and there isn't a 9.4 listed until #34. that run is ho hum at best. Further illustration why the collection doesn't deserve pedigree status. 9.2's are not pedigree worthy? For a SA pedigree composed of post-1964 books, no. The Marvels aren't complete either, to my knowledge. If there are major Marvel keys in the collection, I'm not aware of them. The collection simply doesn't go back far enough. I really didn't pay attention...sounds reasonable then I found this on CGC site Posted by Collectors Society on 12/10/2008 CGC is now recognizing the pedigree Rocky Mountain. All comic books certified from this collection are eligible for the notation “Rocky Mountain” indicating that they were part of this original owner collection. Rocky Mountain, so named because it is from Colorado, contains over 5,000 comic books in high-grade runs of Marvel and DC titles from the 1960’s and up. The collection is being offered by ComicLink, and they have already sold books from the Amazing Spider-Man, and the Silver/Bronze Age Fantastic Four and X-men runs. According to Josh Nathanson, ComicLink President, “There has been overwhelming collector interest in these comic books, and this is the finest collection we’ve brought to market since we opened in 1996.” The Rocky Mountain Avengers run, along with other runs, is slated to be auctioned by ComicLink in their February sale. The comic books were stored meticulously for decades in a cool, dry basement, and have bold, newsstand-fresh colors and white or off-white to white pages. There are many Rocky Mountain examples that are the highest certified for their issue. Examples include Amazing Spider-Man #31, Fantastic Four #54, and X-men #39, all of which received CGC grades of 9.8. Mark Haspel, CGC President and Primary Grader comments, “One of the unique things about the Rocky Mountain pedigree is that there are photographs of it in its original state, making it one of the most thoroughly documented pedigrees. It has long runs of Marvel and DC, and because of their high grades and their market acceptance, this collection certainly has special merit.” Comic books previously sold by ComicLink as the Rocky Mountain pedigree without notation on the CGC label can be sent in for pedigree reholder for an $11 service fee. To qualify, books must remain in their CGC holder as originally certified. Contact CGC for additional information. To learn more about pedigrees recognized by CGC visit: CGC Pedigrees .

  5. Call it now--before you actually know the grade! 9.4 I edited... 25% 9.2, 75% 9.4 That's good odds...can I place a bet on your side.
  6. Call it now--before you actually know the grade! 9.4
  7. don't forget the mound city copy sold for over 100K too The owner of the MC Copy lost a little over 10%. I feel the MC copy is a little bit soft to be a 9.4.
  8. and might I add, that book has never been pressed (thumbs u I agree. (thumbs u
  9. The highest page quality of any Showcase 22 7.5+ is up for sale. This has to be the greatest opportunity for any Hal Jordan fans. http://www.comiclink.com/itemdetail.asp?back=%2Fsearch.asp%3Fwhere%3Dsell%26title%3Dshowcase%2B22%26x%3D0%26y%3D0%26ItemType%3DCB&id=835499
  10. It met reserve at $51K? Last Bid: $51,000 (Reserve Not Met) That's a great book...too bad reserve not met. It's been for around a while , but it should eventually sell. If the seller should have just sold it back 5 years ago for around 80000 and put that money in the CD (around 5% back then), then that person would have collected $20000 interest.
  11. Exactly. It looks much better in the small scans they posted that it did with the large ones on the auction site. I could not believe it was an 8.0 to start with either. 8.5 now.. Sure, but this one, along with quite a few of the other MC books, was a gift grade. Definitely need to buy the book and not the label with any of the MC copies. I think people are finally realizing that. (thumbs u That's why I had to pick up that AF15 6.0 on ComicLink. I think my prints (and profits) are on that 6.0.... That's why that nice AF15 7.0 sold today so quickly...I wonder who's copy.
  12. Not to be pessimistic...but this down market across almost all area, will not bold well for the Rocky Mountain GL's. Well then it's a good thing I haven't bought anything for a while cuz I will be throwing some bids their way. You go for it...whoever has extra $$...great time to buy. (thumbs u
  13. As I mentioned earlier in this thread, I have no desire to own this book, and judging from the final bid, I suppose others put their money in other books. I am curious, however, if folks think this final bid is high/low/about right price for this book. The market is down almost all across...so this is not the usual.

  17. It's like bidding for an 8.0 in a 8.5 holder. Someone could make $$ if they hold it till the GL movie and if it all goes well.
  18. Wow...the Showcase 4 9.2 only sold for $51000.
  19. Thanks. I definitely was not expecting to win it, but I thought I might as well put in a bid since it was going for just $1K when I first saw it. This will be held until the GL movie now, I think. The person who bought the Mound Copy lost some money. Even though the down market hurt this copy a bit, I wonder if we are finally starting to see resistance to know press and quick flip books now? If i haven't mention that this book was press, it would have been mention by others eventually. The great great profits has been made in pressing...I'm in this market for the long term and eventually the market will recover. (thumbs u

  21. The majority of the Silver Age Market has currently peak. Just my opinion. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have posted this before. I sense we are now in the 7th inning. 2/6/10 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- old post: Someone asked me "Are were in a comic bubble" 9/09 I believe we are in the 3rd inning and have a lot more room to rise (golden age and silver age quality material and high end) till this "bubble burst". Below are seven signs if we a in a comic bubble. 1) almost everyone you know talks about the rise of comics 2) many people begin to flip comics for a quick profit 3) many people spending their life savings and are cashing in their 401k to buy comics (I'm sure some of you out there have done this) 4) it's not about collecting anymore, but it's about making money 5) restored comics are rising rapidly too 6)five to ten comic related movies are made in one year. 7)single comic sold for a million dollar 8)more single comics reaching $500,000-1,000000 in auction house
  22. The Showcase 22 8.5 ComicLink (fomer Mound City copy) ended at $17250.00. From seeing all the ComicLink sales in this auction...the comic market looks exhausted. AF15 7.5 $44500, AF15 6.0 $15550, Hulk 1 9.0 $64000, Avengers 1 8.5 $12750.00. I have predicted last month, the Silver Age comic market may have already peaked, and we need to consolidate for 3-5 years before the uptrend can continue.
