  1. I would rather have him on cover but as long as the cover art is decent, I don't mind. That's one thing I disliked about a copy of more fun comics 73 that I had. Great book, terrible cover. A lot of people feel that way about Strange Tales 110 too. I'm not a fan of the 110 cover to begin with though. In this case, its different. I do like this one.
  2. True for most people I'd wager. Definitely keeping mine long term as I'm looking forward to the movies between Black Adam, Shazam (really dislike calling him that but...) and Superman, if he shows up. This book is also one of those rare instances where the character doesn't make their appearance on the cover but I actually don't mind since I think the cover is great as is.
  3. Posted these in the price variant thread. Picked up one 9.8 30 cent copy last year and the other last month on Comiclink, which is funny because I previously owned it and someone had posted the sale on this thread when I sold it.
  4. High grade copies just don't seem to come around often enough. The Comicconnect 8.0 is really nice though. It currently sits at 84k with a bit over 2 days to go.
  5. Ahhh wrong site. It was ultimatekeyissuecomics.com but it looks like the site is not accessable at least for me. I know for sure, there was a 7.5 listed there.
  6. curious to see what the Hulk 1 8.0 on comicconnect goes for.
  7. Any grade on this book is great. I had asked because there is a key issue comics in Canada and he has/had a 7.5 last time i accessed the site.
  8. Hulk 1 has been trending upwards. 7.0 on Heritage cleared 69,000.00 yesterday and 6.5 went for 51,600.00. The 7.0 sale is about 7k over the last sale that was sold on a Comiclink auction recently. The 6.5 sale from yesterday was similar to the last GPA sale but short by a bit over 3k, which I'm guessing is attributed to the scratch the book had on the top front cover. Still a nice book though. Curious to see what the 8.0 on Comicconnect will close out at.
  9. 9.4 after a press. We've all seen 9.8 books lately with 3 to 4 color breaking spine creases on the boards, which is mind blowing.
  10. Would that by chance, be a 7.5? I agree with the same basic reasoning. It just has so much going for it.
  11. Quite a few books not here since they were graded with another company.
  12. Wow.. I didn't see that one. I suspect this will be the norm going forward with this book, which makes sense with all things considered. Well, now its going to have another watcher on that listing.
  13. Thanks Mike. When its a single sale, I get the questioning if its actual FMV action or just a one shot deal. I think with the 2.5 5k sale and the last 2.0 3800 sale, im thinking this 3.0 is about right but I guess time will tell. It will definitely be interesting to see where Marvel Family 1 goes from here.
  14. Quite honestly, it was just a guess. So few have been offered for sale that it was a good chance it was one of my copies.
  15. I can understand that perspective since it is the only 3.0 or higher, sale in quite a while but on the other hand... I think there are several factors that make $10k a reasonable price point for a 3.0. As of right now, the census shows there are less copies of Marvel Family 1 in 3.0 or higher (universal copies) than All Star 8. While I'm not comparing the books in terms of relevance, I'm comparing supply. Before Aquaman was announced, a More Fun comics 73 could be had for tens of thousands less in all grades. Once rumors changed into facts, that book took off and low grade copies were in the 10s of thousands in no time. He was considered a joke character for many years and now, that book is incredibly expensive. Black Adam wasn't found in the Golden Age aside from this one book and his next appearance is roughly 32 years later. I don't count Alter Ego # 7 since it was just a fanzine. The idea that we could see Black Adam square off against Shazam (true Capt Marvel ) and Super-Man is appealing to quite a few collectors and it seems that DC has big plans for Black Adam to go from super villain to anti-hero instead. To me, that makes sense since it gives the character room to grow. With most villains, its usually a "one and done" situation, with a few exceptions. If Black Adam becomes an anti-hero, chances are, there will be several movies to follow. Had that 3.0 not had a 1 inch tear from the back cover, I would have been tempted to buy it myself. Once a few start to surface, I think this 10k sale will be considered cheap.
  16. The next few sales will be interesting to say the least. I sold this 5.5 a few years back. I have an 8.0 in my personal collection right now. Is this by chance, your 5.5?
  17. GPA for a 3.0 is now at $10,000.00 (June 2021) and the last 2.0 sale in (March 2021) is at $3,800.00. The only reason they aren't already higher is because everyone who has one, has been holding them in anticipation for the upcoming movie. With so few sales, it is a challenge to track what a true FMV would be, given the insufficient sales data. For a 6.0? It would absolutely be tens of thousands now. It is hard to say for sure, but if you let it ride at an auction site such as Comiclink or Heritage, It would do well, without question.
  18. It appears that I had missed a detail when watching that was crucial. Yep, looks like at this point in time, Dark Reign Young Avengers 1 makes sense. Apparently though, both books and their related appearances are taking off.
