  1. Thanks. I think having the book in any grade is a good thing. Did you collect all the ff inhumans books?
  2. I think so too. Many sales might be considered "crazy" at the time but as time goes on, we realize that many of those sales are now considered "gift" prices.
  3. Thanks Drummy. The other book was a Marvel Premiere 15 9.8 wp (posted in the "this week in your Bronze thread"). One of those books I've been looking for, going on several years but couldn't find a well centered copy in 9.8 until the Heritage auction that just passed.
  4. Last gpa for a 9.4 was back in March 2020 at 11,400.00 but the last 9.0 in March 2021 was 9500.00 and 10,500 for the last 9.2 In November 2020. I don't recall any sales recently in 9.4 as I haven't tracked it lately but best guess? Maybe 20-25k ish... depending on pq and centering/date stamps/writing? Cool book.
  5. FF club. Posted it in another thread but that's never stopped me before.
  6. Won this yesterday at auction. Could not begin to believe how crazy it went but its the best copy I've ever seen imo.
  7. I tried putting a Deadpool (first volume) together in 9.8 years ago but then I ended up thinking...with all that $$ being spent on the run, I could buy a big key that might be far more important to me. I ended up wanting to do it all over again and I've gone back and forth several times with the idea for the exact same reason I did the first time. Recently, I've wanted to put another run of another title together but the same thought keeps preventing me from putting a run together. IMO, its fun to acquire all the books you need for a run as it gives me a goal to achieve. I'm conflicted with the fun of collecting a run vs buying a more important book to me instead constantly and as always, the bigger single key prevails. I'm starting to view it a bit differently but only recently. Since the quest for the important keys never seems to end for me ( i can't be alone on this?), I'm starting to think I'd love to see a run completed. I like posting on myslabbed because I can see all my books together, rather than cycling through them on my pc and seeing a page of all the same run kinda does it for me. I guess my rant boils down to... as others have said... collect in a way that makes you happy. No matter your approach...some may disagree but at the end of the day, no matter what I say or what anyone else says, there's no wrong way to collect. If you wanna buy to flip, then flip! If you want to collect a run, press your books, collect keys or use your comics to pin on your wall (please don't though), collect however you like! Have fun!
  8. Some of the FF books being offered were just incredibly exceptional copies. In general, I think this might have been the best auction I've seen in terms of quality of books on offer. Clink had a great auction recently as well.
  9. I was in shock to see Heritage prices today. I was watching the FF 52 9.6 (waiting for my books to come up so I could bid) and I'm just watching the increments jump and I still can't believe it hit 50k. Lots of incredible prices realized tonight but then again, there were some incredible books too. JIM 83 8.5 wp (75k) comes to mind. X-men 1 cgc 8.5 went out of the stratosphere(78k). I won 2 of the 3 books I bid on and they went waaaaaay over my initial bids but they had to be done. I've spent too long searching for the right copies and they were just so perfect imo. I learned something about myself tonight though... I don't like the feeling of watching live auctions when I'm bidding. Heartbeat going off like a subwoofer.
  10. Thanks again. This one is for me for sure. Usually, my intention is to keep my PC stuff but from time to time, some get sold to fund another book that's more important to me. The tough part is separating books for resale vs the PC. Being a collector makes it a challenge since I want to keep more than I should.
  11. Thanks! Strongest one there is in my collection at least.
  12. I actually grabbed that 7.5 recently. I had a 7.0, sold it a couple of years back and I've missed it more than any other book. Its part of my PC and likely staying there for a while. Clink had a 7.0 sale at 54k ish I believe. Aside from Cap 1, Hulk 1 is my favorite book so it was time to grab a replacement copy. In a short time, I'm guessing it will seem like a gift price. I saw another 7.5 listed online for sale a short time later for 95k. Just checked and its still available. Wonder if anyone will pull the trigger.
  13. I picked up that Cap cover too. Absolutely love it. Iron man vs doom cover is great too. They've been sitting here just begging to be graded.
  14. Perhaps a hanging enclosed case with museum glass that blocks UV would do. Keeping them on a wall that is out of direct sunlight no matter the glass you get, is a good idea as well. As Angel of Death pointed out, I'd be reluctant to put them on the walls as well unless the cabinet is lag bolted into the studs with some serious hardware. As long as you never get hit with an earthquake in your area, you should be good. I'd also go so far as to use something like clips to keep the slabs in place. Maybe use a soft felt where the slab meets the clip to keep it from scratching the cases would be nice too. Clear plastic clips to keep the aesthetics in check.
  15. Agreed. Bought these over the last few years. Not that easy to find in 9.8 with decent overall centering. Deathlok will eventually have his time in the light once again.
  16. Sold a few big books that I'd like to get back. I took a look at the ones I've missed the most and decided to replace them when the time for each book is right. So far, I've replaced 2 of the 6 that are on my list. Replacing every book I'd like to have back again would take forever and it would also cost waaaaaaaay too much now. Pick your battles. Nothing wrong with replacing a 7.0 book with a nicely presenting 6.0 instead. At least you have a copy again and you can always sell to upgrade it when you have the opportunity.
  17. There's definitely an uptick in people joining the hobby as well (at least from what I'm observing...). I myself, have had many friends and acquaintances jumping into collecting in the last year or so.
