Walking around 90+ degree's in Charlotte with gloves mask and face shield, I guess is no different than cosplay I have done lol But I'm not going to a con if that's necessary.

But I figure its only a matter of time Heroes Con is cancelled/postponed, and then Galaxy Con for North Carolina.

No notice yet and cons further out have already cancelled hm

My bet is if North Carolina doesn't have a stay in order in place by then or no restrictions on large gatherings it'll still be on.

I will be missing it because I'm not taking the chance, which is a shame as it's my favorite convention city of the ones I go to during con season.

A problem occurs if a comic book reader is also a science nerd. Then overanalysing is hard to avoid.

Superhero comics as we know them generally aren't meant for adults. Adults who can accept them for what they are will probably enjoy them more than people who 1) over analyze and 2) wish the books / characters to mature with them.

Not hearing much buzz about this movie..Am I just not looking in the right places? Saw "Birds of Prey" several weeks ago and no preview was shown..Odd to me.

When the trailer hit there was virtually no uptick in the prices of 9.8 Eternal Warrior #4.

Looking at the trailer as a pure fan, it looks like they missed the boat on what could have been.

I like Vin's movies so I will see this once it comes out on Blu ray or streaming.

They added something to the pulp and finish that makes it superduper glossy.  I find myself continually adjusting lamp, moving book, head, anything so I can SEE.  It should not be like this!!!  They are selling books then impeding the ability to read the damn things.
    Do Better.

That is one of the contributing factors to why I don't buy and read many modern comics.

Yeah I saw those. And was thinking the same thing. Reed Pop should put an end to that.

I think both Reed Pop and the seller could get in big trouble. Does anyone how that works?

Most cons have it in their terms of service that they do not allow bootlegs, but the booths still come. At Wizard World Chicago several years back I saw the police shut down one of those booths, but that's the only time I've ever seen that happen at any con I've attended.

  6. I think what it comes down to is whose opinion you believe. I read much of the Ditko essays years ago and they didn't really wash with me then and I will admit that his (to me ) odd world view made me take what he said with several grains of salt.

The essay he wrote about Spider-Man / Jack Kirby rang different with me because I know that the people who had Kirby's ear towards the end of his life had him believing that he had created the entire Marvel Universe single handedly.

Comic wiz posts a letter from Marvel stating they don't sell artwork but will make an exception in this one case for a museum and that is proof of Marvel engaging in a conspiracy, and of course it is all Stans fault.

Should Marvel have done a better job of storing the art? Absolutely, but it wasn't some conspiracy against the artists. Where is all the DC art from that era? How about the Disney art?

I personally think the art should be returned to the artist, and recommended the Kirby family to retain lawyers to pursue the art that was stolen, but it wasn't Stan who did any of that.

It wasn't Shooter either and I remember him being lambasted in the comic "press" about that issue in the early 1980's.

It makes me sad to think Stan Lee was a bad guy 😟😟

Yeah, where are the scathing comments from Gene Colan, John Buscema, John Romita, Roy Thomas, Marie Severin etc?

You're getting one side of a story here unfortunately.

No one ever claimed Stan Lee did it all himself, including Lee.

Kirby's boot licks were in his ear so much towards the end they had him convinced he was solely responsible for the creation of the MU, including Spider-Man.

Be like Dan.  Always willing to sell to anyone.  Never wants to run a museum.  Always one of my favourites at the Baltimore Comic Con. :takeit:

One of my favorite lines I've heard him say is "don't be embarrassed about making a profit", between that and thinking about the long run as opposed to short term sales changed my entire business model 2c
