These came from an ask at a garage sale - guy said he had some comics, and told me to come back in 20 minutes after they finished setting up and he would bring them out - glad I circled back.
Came out to a little over $2 per book
2 of the Dark Knights #1s are first prints - other two are second prints
A near complete run of X-men from 134 - 179 (only missing 137 and 143)

Thanks - it's definitely a pretty rare piece to find - the parts usually sell for $75-$100 and up on eBay, and a complete one mint in box sold for $16K - just haven't seen very many box-only examples.

My understanding is that the old first class pricepoints (4oz/8oz/12/16oz) are not changing, but they will now include $100 insurance on all packages for no additional cost (except media mail)

Had an unusually successful day of comic hunting yesterday - unusual because (1) it was Sunday and (2) I found comics at 2 garage sales!
First was on a reverse ask - the seller asked if I was interested in buying comics based on the Comic Con shirt I was wearing - I said yes, and her husband soon emerged with a tote full of about 100 late 1970s comics and 15 TPBs - I asked how much for all of it - he said $20 - I said sold. He didn't want to part with his Spider-man issues, however (and he showed me a few nice Marvel Treasury editions that he didn't want to sell either) - the highlights -
At the next one, I asked if he had comics, he went back into the house and emerged with the pile below. After a little haggling, we settled on $60 for all of it.
The highlights (glasses are attached inside Captain EO, and the DKR #1 is a first print - #2 is a third print) -
Overall, very happy I went out on a Sunday (especially since I couldn't go out on Saturday)

Third Eye Comics has the spoiler Spidey #7 in stock for $3.99 (one per customer)

From an ask at a garage sale this morning - he said he had some Star Wars comics if I was interested - I said sure - he brings out these three boxes
I open the first box and see this flyer
Then I took a look inside - I ask him if $150 was his price for all, and quickly paid him
When I got home, I saw that it was a complete, high grade run from 38-107, with all 3 annuals, ROTJ 1-4, plus 2 paperbacks. Also included #1 (mid-grade), 2, a reprint of 4, and 5, and randomly 17. Always pays to ask!

Anyone still source collections from Craigslist? I had one purchase from CL in 2022. I still post wanted ads since it only takes 30 seconds but just curious if anyone still gets consistent hits from CL.
This year Craigslist seemed to completely dry up for me - used to get one or two good leads a month from it - it's been several months since anything good has popped up.

OH wow, paid attention to your post! One of my parents also had rods put in years ago! She now gets around fine and is foreverly grateful! Although she's had Knee replaced since then and now needs a hip done she still says the knee was the hardest but you have my thoughts and prayers
But now you got me wanting to stop at every single sale problem is they seem to be at the very same houses throughout the years? Is this normal? @cabinboy @littledoom
I would say this is not normal at all - you might get this once or twice a year if you go out to garage sales every weekend - and that's probably over estimating it. Normally if they have comics, it's a stack of well-read 90s books that they want $50 for.

I give you kudos for the try and ask. SO many garage sales near me, the few times I've "stopped and asked" nada
I'm sure it either is advertised online or the luck of the draw, but I admire the effort! Few and far between probably but
99/100 I get told no, or they’re not selling, or they just sold them - but this was that 1 time where he had them and was wiling to sell - always gotta ask!

I saw a number of people having him sign the blanks during his signings, so probably less than 750 unsigned.

The ad said free box of comics - sounded good to me. I drove across town to pick them up - was not disappointed when I went through them at home
Highlights included the entire Byrne run on Sensational She-Hulk, lots and lots of 1990s Dark Horse Tarzan, the late 90s Mad reprints, and lots of other mini-runs of 1990s comics.
He said he had more, and would let me know (I offered to pay, but he was just glad they were going to a collector).
