  1. I bump this for future reminder since the lure of profits is simply irresistible....pathetic Is it more pathetic that he went back on his word, again, or that he still gets sales despite all his shenanigans? both...I am sure some buyers don't pay attentions to the PL but I am also certain some don't care as long as COOL BOOKS are for sale.

  3. I have a question, why are you so eager to stay here? Money and cool books. So many here have given up every ounce of integrity or sense of decency in the pursuit of both. It is shameful and embarrassing but hey, at least some despicable people can have friends on the internets because they sell cool books. Not really a community I am feeling I want to be associated with all that much and that is sad. I agree, but I like to think the majority of the community feels the same way and will continue to let a good deal pass by before giving up their integrity. You've only been here a year, give it time. true dat! there is no shortage of modern variant collectors that will line up to buy from Symbiotic via PM even if he declared "I am done". Heck they have no problem buying from him openly if he starts a sale thread right now. The mantra here is "hey, as long as you haven't screw me, you are COOL...with me...so screw someone else and I am fine"
  4. I just went thru some boxes and I was wrong on the saying that all of them don't have the diamond....some did have the diamond but those are the one with the bar code crossed out or the spider head. This is indeed ...and I think I got it. starting in 1977 some books were produced strictly for the Whitman 3 packs and non returnable, the diamond was used......thanks for the link again.
  5. thanks...this is where I was confused because I bought a large OO collection long ago that consisted of books from 1976 to 1980...all was bought at the same store and sure enough, all of them had the bar code until 1979 and then I see the cross out bar code and then the spider head. HOwever, not one of the book has the diamond.
  6. can you show me how to distinguish a direct sale from a newsstand book from 1976 to 1978? because I didn't think there was any differentiation. The bar code showed up on all books from 1976 to 1978 from what I can tell...the distribution system started to take shape with direct and newsstand but the publishers weren't into it yet until 1979 where Marvel started to differentiate with the cross out bar code and then a few months later, the spider-man head.
  7. there are quite a few of 9.6 slabs with books with 1/16" to 1/8" visible corner crease...lots of them if you go on Heritage and peruse the sharp scans they have (all you need to do is search Hulk 181 and X-men 94 and you will see them). i won a few slabs over the years from CL that I was shocked to see such a crease on a 9.6 slabs....scans weren't big enough or sharp enough for me to spot the crease but lesson learned...no more.
  8. sweet picture frame....wish Marvel did more of them.
  9. moved to "Scheduled for grading" on 2/21 moved to "Graded" on 2/26. shipped/safe on 2/28 so I will schedule for a personal pick up next Tuesday highlight of the sub is..... X-men 3 9.4 ow/w
  10. yike! silver age? that means mine won't be done for another week...sheesh....
  11. moved to "Scheduled for grading" on 2/21 moved to "Graded" on 2/26.
  12. I should scan my 2 copies and load them and other should do the same here just for comparison sake.
  13. yup...I collect mostly 9.2 and 9.4 bronze since I rid my desire for slabs...no need to pay 3x more with slabs....even if I have money to burn, I enjoy flipping thru the books too much to go back to plastic collecting.
  14. I think the trajectory for 9.6 and 9.8 bronze slabs in general is downward with the exception of a few "hot" books here and there due to movie and TV hypes but I vouched to not buy any more 9.6 and 9.8 slabs since 2012 and I am thankful for leaving this part of the hobby behind for good.
  15. same with GL 76, I do no think it is wise to chase 9.6 to 9.8 slabs of any of these books...who knows what they will be worth 5 years from now but prices have declined steadily for both books over the past 5 years. No doubt there are a few more copies in census for both but it is far from "common as dirt" as far as 9.6 to 9.8 but I am sure some with chime in with that reasoning. Even the uber hot Iron Man 55 took a beating yesterday...ouch.....all of this with the pump of Avengers movies to come for Thanos. p.s. I don't have GPA so I am just guessing IM 55 is cooling based on that price for the 9.6....not sure if that is an outlier.
  16. nothing special really since I don't know collect slabs much these days but I sent in a couple of hot books like Iron Man 55 and Jimmy Olsen 134.
  17. I submitted 4 books using the coupon I got last year on 2/5/14...had to since the coupon expired today. as of today...they are still "verified"
  18. depends on if he is collecting or refunding congrats on the niners....easy peasy.
  19. Well, if anyone remembered the prices action of the key DD books a few years back when the DD movie was announced...they shouldn't "speculate" at all but that won't stop the crowds....I think it is nut but I am not the one buying or selling.
  20. It shouldn't even be a shock to anyone that Kingpin, Bullseye and Elektra will be the big 3 unless the writers think Stilt Man or the Jester are fans' favorites.
  21. you mean you need to know the plot lines, villains appearances. etc...to know which books to speculate?
  22. Bump for you so your post isn't buried in the jungle p.s. and as far as SC issue, not shocking one bit of the voting result. NOthing on this board surprised me...the mantra for some people here has always been "as long as you don't screw ME, go ahead and be a person_who_is_obnoxiously_self-impressed to anyone else because I don't give a damn as long as YOU DON'T SCREW ME"
  23. i think it is more a case of vertical miswrap because I have seen a variety of 1st print where the white left corner is either cut off all the way to being fairly large. I wouldn't rely on that corner to determine if the copy is 1st, 2nd or counterfeit.
