  1. I just went thru some boxes and I was wrong on the saying that all of them don't have the diamond....some did have the diamond but those are the one with the bar code crossed out or the spider head. This is indeed hm

...and I think I got it.

starting in 1977 some books were produced strictly for the Whitman 3 packs and non returnable, the diamond was used......thanks for the link again.

  2. can you show me how to distinguish a direct sale from a newsstand book from 1976 to 1978? because I didn't think there was any differentiation. The bar code showed up on all books from 1976 to 1978 from what I can tell...the distribution system started to take shape with direct and newsstand but the publishers weren't into it yet until 1979 where Marvel started to differentiate with the cross out bar code and then a few months later, the spider-man head.

  3. there are quite a few of 9.6 slabs with books with 1/16" to 1/8" visible corner crease...lots of them if you go on Heritage and peruse the sharp scans they have (all you need to do is search Hulk 181 and X-men 94 and you will see them). i won a few slabs over the years from CL that I was shocked to see such a crease on a 9.6 slabs....scans weren't big enough or sharp enough for me to spot the crease but lesson learned...no more.

  4. I submitted 4 books using the coupon I got last year on 2/5/14...had to since the coupon expired today.

as of today...they are still "verified"

moved to "Scheduled for grading" on 2/21

    moved to "Graded" on 2/26.

shipped/safe on 2/28 so I will schedule for a personal pick up next Tuesday

    highlight of the sub is.....

    X-men 3 9.4 ow/w

  5. same with GL 76, I do no think it is wise to chase 9.6 to 9.8 slabs of any of these books...who knows what they will be worth 5 years from now but prices have declined steadily for both books over the past 5 years. No doubt there are a few more copies in census for both but it is far from "common as dirt" as far as 9.6 to 9.8 but I am sure some with chime in with that reasoning. Even the uber hot Iron Man 55 took a beating yesterday...ouch.....all of this with the pump of Avengers movies to come for Thanos.

p.s. I don't have GPA so I am just guessing IM 55 is cooling based on that price for the 9.6....not sure if that is an outlier.

  6. Anyone have a bead on Foolkiller. We've got a longish open order and he seems out of town. Not too worried at all as he's as upstanding as they get, just curious if others that have kept up with him can send him a note.

Bump for you so your post isn't buried in the jungle

p.s. and as far as SC issue, not shocking one bit of the voting result. NOthing on this board surprised me...the mantra for some people here has always been "as long as you don't screw ME, go ahead and be a person_who_is_obnoxiously_self-impressed to anyone else because I don't give a damn as long as YOU DON'T SCREW ME"

  7. my one complaint about this last show is the proximity that the Arrow walked and stood next to other characters...too close and make it silly that they couldn't see who is under the hood. I wished they didn't have the Arrow walked side by side with the cop...kind of silly in my opinion...maybe it is silly of me to make a big deal out of the issue :roflmao:
