  1. Not sure of your budget, but Greg Reece has a nice presenting 8.0 on his website: https://reececomics.com/product/amazing-spider-man-129-cgc-80-owwh-pages for $2600 here is a nice 3.0 on comiclink ending tonight: https://www.comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2FAUCTIONS%2FSEARCH.ASP%3FFocusedOnly%3D1%26where%3Dauctions%26title%3Damazing%2Bspider-man%26ItemType%3DCB%26pg%3D4%26x%3D0%26y%3D0%23Item_1682397&id=1682397&itemType=0#detail
  2. Personally, I would just look for different copies in the desired grade range, as both have detrimental defects that I think would be a hard sell later on, unless they are at a bargain of a price.
  3. Do you guys think the whole cancel culture will cool this book off, demand stay the same, or increase as time goes on?
  4. I think the point is, everyone on this board for the most part, is fully aware of their policy regarding the back scans, so why bring it up. Additionally, the fact they do not have a buyer's premium comparted to HA, makes up for that fact.
  5. You might be able to snag a Bagley Black Cat page from his Ultimate Spiderman run. I know that is not what you were asking but might be a cost effective alternative.
  6. Purchased a nice CGC graded book from James. Superb communication, excellent packaging, prompt shipment. Great experience!
  7. Hey guys, was wondering your thoughts on the matter? Is there a market for high grade Fangoria magazines? Do not see too many CGC'd but is there a demand market for high grade copies?
  8. I was talking about the pulp, Weird Tales, where Conan debuted.
  9. First Conan in high grade might do silly money.
  10. Well, ask yourself this, why would someone pay that price for an incomplete copy?
  11. I'm not saying this to be rude but a helpful suggestion. The X-men book missing two pages, is going to be a deal breaker, your price is comparable to other low grade complete copies. You might be better off selling the front and back cover and then wraps as someone may grab them to complete a book.
  12. It looked like there was some friction in that area and that was rubbed off. Not sure what grade you were expecting but I wouldn’t send in.
  13. Me too, I liked them for milestone issues but then it has become impossible to get most. I feel bad for collectors lets say buying ASM for 50 years but missed out on let's say the #666 Del'Otto variant and would pay more for that than early issues in the run.
  14. This was a great run, great art as well from Jerome Opena.
  15. Just was wondering, have other board members had variant fatigue set in on modern books? Wanted to see other's thoughts.
  16. Ebay's search algorithm, the last two weeks or more seems odd, like it will not bring up what you are searching.
  17. Was that sold on Heritage ? If so, is that the the price with the buyer's premium? I believe they ship outside the USA where most other large houses do not, that could be why.
  18. The book was cream to off white before it was graded, where it sat, as is for 50+ years, now with the micro chamber paper and proper storage, the book is not going to degrade significantly in any of our lifetimes.
  19. With it being a cash payment, I would ask for a discount as we can agree that the sale will not be reported by the seller and you are doing him a great service by paying in cash.
  20. Ask 100 people on the street and see if they know the character.
  21. Did not start out as Vertigo, but the Morrison Doom Patrol run was great. Lucifer (tv show did not do the book justice), was great and I thought a great addition to the Sandman universe.
  22. I know I am in the minority with view, but I do not really see why it has achieved the level of "key" status or value regardless of the things you mentioned. You mention organically, but a lot of modern books achieve "key" status as a result of discussions on this specific and similar boards by members sitting on substantial quantities of the book. It is a knock off of a well known character, and in my opinion nothing more, and I would use this argument for X-23 etc. I understand all characters can be, and a lot of times are derivatives of well established characters, but I personally just do not see it. I'm not trying to argue with anyone, I can understand why individuals think it's an important book, I just never got it.
  23. I think the real concern of the last few pages was the low price that the 7.5 sold for in comparison to others in that grade. Books in the 5.0 to 7.5 are going to have price variations as they are too expensive for low grade collectors and not high enough of a grade for for high grade collectors, so you are going to have that type of variation. The economy isn’t that great so that’s certainly a factor as well.
  24. How do Spawn fans feel about Capullo’s art? I like his as much as Todd’s and in some instances more so.
