  1. Great preservation. You just enjoy them so much and it must feel great to be handling multiples. You greedy hoarder!!! Awesome books Alex Just kidding ... enjoy em!
  2. And thats probably the greatest copy
  3. Wow that book is in incredible shape and the colors are amazing
  4. Hi Matt, You might consider having someone cast the missing top third of the cover and recreate the large logo. The artwork on the verso side might be tricky but it's a large house ad. The half-tones in the ad can't be recreated perfectly. Ya thats what im thinking too thanks
  5. Dear GAtor would you mind ripping off the top logo of your detective comics 29 and mailing it to me so mine can be complete Thanks (thumbs u
  6. Does your girlfriend know you spent, what, 4K on it? Ya 5K i dont think she really even listens to me about this stuff exept say '' o wow thats alot'' Well, if she doesn't know, she will...after she reads this forum. Maybe i can get her into this stuff. She was gonna go to NYCC with me but i told her that might not be a good idea

  8. O and BTW im biased to a 29 since i got mine ( well whats left of it)
  9. I hate to tell you Alex but 29 is waaay cooler someday you will understand when your older (thumbs u The story in 29 is much better than 31. But 31 is a better cover. A cover that is published as the back cover to the giant DC anniversary book has to be pretty important. No im just kiddin with you, but i honestly dont know which one id pick given the choice of the 2 sitting in front of me. While i like the story better in 29 than 31, the 31 has such an iconic cover, but 29 is so cool cause batman looks very mysterious to me.
  10. Thats exactly it but i just didnt wanna say that
  11. Great book , I rate 29 much higher than the 31 That's a VERY tough call IMO. 31 one for me I think if Batman had his gloves on #29, it would probably be a toss-up. He looks kinda awkward swinging with just his bare hands Funny cause he got rope burn swinging in that window that night. BTW awesome book my fav 31 all day long for me. (If you could not guess from my icon) Though there is an overwhelming favor of 29 here on the boards, at least it seems. Both books are incredible and will always be an incredibly tough call. I hate to tell you Alex but 29 is waaay cooler someday you will understand when your older

  17. A bump to say the least. Some of the greatest books in the history of our hobby, all on the same table. WOW good job alex u wanna adopt me
  18. Oh yeah, it happens about three times in the book - surprised Joe Q. or some other hack hasn't tried to say this was an earth 777 story or some other such bullshiet. Now the real question is in what issue does Ock call Spidey "Super-Man"? Funny...I forgot about that... Just looked through my #3 and started laughing, then i showed my brother ( he knows nothing about comics) and he said " Hey what if yours is the only one like that it would be worth a ton" I just walked away laughing.
  19. Thanks I was able to get it quite a bit cheaper than his original 17k asking price I did not win the 36 but another Boardie did and he should post it Was it really $17K asking price? I thought it was around $7-8k. Again congrats on a nice pick-up and yeah the other boardie who bought the 36 should post it I post mine all the time Im pretty sure Alex (batman) won the 36 he posted it in a few pics a few weeks back. Correct! I posted it here along side my Jerry 33 and 35. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=4448867Post4448867 It's a small world - I did indeed pick up this 36 from the same seller who sold spideyinacase his gorgeous 37. Here's the 36 again: And I also had the pleasure of picking up spideyinacase's lovely 37 CGC 2.5 undercopy a few months back: Winners one and all. (btw spideyincase it was again a pleasure to work with you back in October - your an Ace in my book! ) Congrats Alex. Looks like a great collection!!!
