  1. Julie Bell, too. They did a number of painted cover together!
  2. My feeling is if a book can not obtain a universal grade then it shouldn't get its own spot. I know each book has to be reviewed individually but with the case of wolverine 102.5 it can only grade as a green label. There are a few signature series books out there but I don't understand how they got that label Since Cgc wasn't present when Boris originally signed the book There are many copies of the book that were in the wild with no signatures. Then a bunch of them got done at DragonCon several years ago, when Boris and Julie did their first signing in a long time. Since then, several more have gotten done under the same circumstances at other cons.
  3. I rarely disagree with you, Ed. But I do here. From my experience, if I grade a magazine the same way I grade a comic, it will come back one and sometimes two grade increments higher. I have graded maybe 25-30 mags and I've never had one come back lower than estimate and 80-90% have come back higher.
  4. While the complaining party did not deserve to be treated this way, anyone that did even the slightest amount of due diligence would know that dealing with Symbiotic was a sketchy proposition.
  5. He was awesome in the Last Action Hero. The guy that plays Varys is dressed like Hannibal Lecter at the end of Silence of the Lambs.
  6. You should have an elephant poop flavored lollipop for your birthday.
  7. If someone would be kind enough to update the list. When was the new PM sent? After 30 days had passed and over 3 weeks of him reading and not responding to my messages. What DATE did you sent the new PM? Was it (or has it now been) 72 hours since sending it before you asked someone to put him on the list? April 12. Not sure why you fighting this... I'm not fighting it. People say when the new PM was sent so we know 72 hours has passed. It is amazing how many deals get resolved within a day or two of that new PM hitting their inbox. via Imgflip Meme Maker

  9. That's it exactly. I sold a couple copies of the Avengers book that has the 1st Scott Lang a couple of weeks before they popped. I consoled myself upon receiving the modest 6-7x profit as opposed to the 20-30x by remembering the 300x return on a FOOM 2.
  10. One should never have recriminations about profit made in the past.
  11. I was thinking about your syntactically interesting phrase 'sexual freedom unconstrained' just now as I contemplated some posts in the Game of Thrones WC thread. I had to find your post to see if you used the word family. Characterized by both the gothic family fetish and sexual freedom unconstrained, Westeros is a civilization with the family as its polestar & libidinous zeal common like dandelions. Marriage is crucial but not traditional in our sense of traditional marriage; courtship is like the kama sutra; & procreation is key to family survival, key to everything. Martin deconstructs the family in every way possible, including all of the taboo tropes, bastardos everywhere, prisoners of war being raised in enemy families, familial diaspora, ritual killings, fratricide everywhere. The family members hate each other even more than they hate their enemies.
  12. Welcome to the 90's. You should check out the Harry Potter books and Matchbox 20 is putting out a really great sound, too! Don't forget to catch Ally McBeal on Tuesday night!!!
  13. If these guys are the same Palma Brothers that used to sell on Ebay in the late 90's early 2000s, I have nothing but good things to say about their books, their packaging, and their general awesomeness. I wish I would have won 200 more of their auctions back in the day.
  14. Nope. Show me the raw book that sells for more than the CGC equivalent. (thumbs u Here is what I bolded and was referring to: Everyone would still prefer a slabbed book to a raw book of the same apparent condition. Nothing was said about price. I said Nope because I personally would rather have the raw book. So people would pay more for something they want less? And the word 'people' means you? And 'a slabbed book' means Hulk 181? Do you understand the meaning of the word "EVERYONE?" There are plenty of people who would rather have a raw than a slabbed book in the same grade, even for the same price. Plenty of people deslab their books because they prefer them raw. The fact slabbed books generally sell for more on EBAY means that SOME (maybe most) prefer slabbed books when BUYING. But that fact that YOU think you can speak for EVERYONE when I would want YOU representing MY PREFERENCES less than anyone else on the boards honestly disgusts me. You think you're largely accepted now because people don't rag you as much as when you've first started, or that you've curbed your behavior to acceptable levels. But I think that most people just pity you for how sad your life probably is, and embarrassed for how you conduct yourself, or just have you on ignore. Please learn some context or self awareness, or don't. But please don't think you can speak for 'everyone' in any context, comic or otherwise. Someone offers you the choice of a CGC 9.8 modern and a raw modern, and I am betting EVERYONE takes the CGC 9.8 regardless of what they "prefer." He could sell the 9.8, pick up a raw and have a little stack for future purchases. I realize that Kav is annoying, but some parts of some of his posts have merit.
  15. I know but I'm just wondering why someone would think that-what clues led them to believe such a thing etc... What about what type of axe they have to grind?
