  1. Not everything that gets typed on the Internet is true.
  2. Not even close to enough people for the volume they do. They need to get their act together and stop being a mom&pop shop with everything they do. They have more than enough income to do much much better. No excuses. as a mod, its not like you are an unbiased poster You know you're beginning to make Kav look like the sane one, right? You got a well-deserved strike (what was it - a year ago or something?), you're still sore about it and you seem to believe I had something to do with it. I didn't. Deal with it & move on. If you are a mod, using a member as a term of insult is highly unprofessional. That works out great, because he isn't a mod.
  3. Hey Doug. Richie is not doing Asbury Park. Glenn (Peasofcrap) is!
  4. So did The Stand, I believe. I think that is the one that JJ made me go to a store in Dayton to get some mangled copies at midnight.
  5. I agree that the current system works fine.
  6. Before 2010 the original witnesses had the ability to witness signatures anywhere, anytime and on any books. It has only been a little over four years that the new rules have been in place.
  7. I still have "The J-Dizzle" saved on my phone from 2009
  8. I apprenticed under JJ. The only pay I received was him occasionally singing messages on my cell phone voice mail. It was totally worth it.
  9. Any business that is going to have someone represent them should know the person that is representing them, don't you think?
  10. This. I would definitely recommend trying a few smaller shows before you go nuts. It really is all you do at a con if you have a decent number of books. You do not spend the weekend shopping and all that. You are standing in lines and getting sigs. Thanks for the input guys I totally get the responsibility, I would be pretty pissed if I trusted someone to get work done and they flaked out. Having helpers is always beneficial too. Bragnet : You coming or what? if you becomes a witness (CAW) then you are the helper for the dealer. You are the facilitator's biznatch.
  11. Mike Balent is in charge of the Sig Series program. He determines who can act as a CAW or a facilitator. Both are a tremendous amount of work. For me it was advantageous to CAW a couple of small shows before trying out the deeper end of the pool.
  12. I do not believe that anyone paid $30 for a Flash #1. A lot of people paid $5, as it shot up very quickly upon release (that is similar to an Image #1 going to $15 on the 'Bay a couple of weeks after release.) There may have been some sales in the $10-12 range as the OU and CVM popped it to that range at one point. I bought and sold a lot of copies of that book, and I would bet $50 no one ever paid $30 for it, until CGC was in the game.
  13. You both should be flogged for quoting that monstrosity for a face palm and a one-liner.
  14. I knew I remembered him from somewhere. I am such an insufficiently_thoughtful_person.
  15. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=7523968&fpart=1 This one might be next, not threadkrapping IMO, but pointing out something that obviously should have been disclosed. I'm selling a variant, but won't say who's it is... then CBT posts this: k, well, thread is closed now anyway, but you are still being vague and choosing akward wording in your response. Anyway, I got the info now: You could have just said, "Menace produced the book, yes its a Home Brew variant solicited by a group of people, and I am pre-selling for them." regardless of anything else, people have a right to know what they are buying. Full disclosure is necessary for sales threads to run smoothly. Love the cover on this book, but I'll stick to official variants. Look's like the exclusive was/is Jake's (Menace / Mercenary Art Studios) and Troy actually seems to have known the whole time as well since he posted in the Facebook thread. Proxy selling? Considering that Menace's reputation is still being crushed by the weight of the Angel Medina debacle, proxy selling is quite likely.
  16. I think that Batman Beyond book is a real sleeper. I always look for it and never find it. I have exactly one copy, and it has a blank box in the front, almost like FCBD books. I don't know if they are all like that or not.
  17. I'd drive a long way (or pay to fly) solely to meet and get Kurt Russell's sig. He's been in most of my favorite movies. There's been something from every decade, going back to the 80's that he's starred in that I still watch today. I would do lot of driving to get Scorcese or Mr. T
  18. It'll be interesting to see if Hellblazer #1 heats up, now that Papa Midnite has been announced as the shows main villain. HB 2 is a key PM book as well. It has been so long since I have read the early HBs. Did #1 just refer to PM (and JC's debt) and #2 had him on the cover and his 1st full app?
  19. There is a Pre-Batman Detective signed by Creig Flessel. I want to say it is a 16 or 17.
