  1. Shhh. Don't tell everyone! I’m just trying to be fair, as more accurate grading is always better for both parties. To balance that, I must admit that a few books in the FVF/VF- range appear very slightly overgraded, but it is hard to tell from scans only. Andy’s grading is spot on (safely a bit undergraded, like I tend to do), but everyone has its "weak spot" where he undergrades. Mine tends to be in the G+ to VG- range – they are all G/G+ to me… You are wrong. It won't get poofed. They clearly know one another and are merely conversing about grading books. This is what used to happen all the time before the selling threads became a freak show of kvetching, hand-wringing and teeth clenching. If you look for a ghost behind every tree, you'll find one.
  2. You know what really sucks about that? Throw up a hot enough book with the disclaimer that buyer has to pay fees, and it will still sell. Personally, I wish it would just be a rule that fees must be included in price. I simply don't understand why people don't do that, it's very basic math (there's even a free Paypal calculator for people who don't want to do the math ) and at best - it's an annoying trait that usually detracts from the sale. The attitude has always puzzled me. If a seller is asking for 3% on a $100 book, I'm paying $103 If a seller factors that 3% into the asking price of the book I'm still paying $103.
  3. Trying to get $75 for a 9.4 Transformers book is the most shocking thing of all.
  4. +1 Will there be a CGC witness there? Not that I am aware of, that was why I added the note… , I guess I'm still too much of a noob to understand the terminology. I thought a CGC witness is someone who is authorized to validate a signature, whereas a facilitator is someone who obtains the signature and submits the book to CGC. From your answer, I take it that one person can fill both roles? Sorry for the stupid question, but stay tuned. I'm full of them! Richie has indicated that he will do that show. He will have the CAW necessary to get it done.
  5. So he doesn't know A) CGC's magazine grading scale, and B) What masking is and how it gets you an all expense paid trip to the phantom zone. Nice mag! That guy is just batty for Famous Monsters! Batko batty.
  6. This has been updated above. However, here it is again so that no one has to search through to see where it is. Enjoy it. These books will make me puke from now on.
  7. So to sum up, lack of original thought and being a blowhard are frowned upon by you.
  8. So, from a picture, some of these signatures are suspect, even knowing that they are 30 years old? This is one of the very few times that the Sig Room lets me down. Yes David Prowse signs "is Darth Vader" now, and he has since his entire career became the convention circuit. In 1982 when they wrapped up Jedi, he was just Dave Prowse, and he probably was hoping that he was going to get a lot more work, and not just be the guy in the black suit. Signatures can vary wildly in 30 years. They also will be much more carefully and artfully done in certain circumstances. All that can be honestly said is that there are slight apparent differences in the signatures shown on the poster and the signatures obtained in the last several years. There is no cause, and no evidence, to call the guy's poster "suspect" twice.
  9. Honing his Jedi abilities to scope out fake sigs, it seems.
  10. I've noticed how his sig is different depending on when and where he is. I really need to learn to submit to get sigs so I can know what I am doing when he decides to go public again. I really really want a sig and sketch on some of his books. Some of you guys have been really lucky in that area All of mine are due to the diligence of some great guys - From my end it has been good fortune, from their end it has been hard work!
  11. For years there were only two of these. I turned down a lot of money for it, because I didn't think Kieth would ever sign publicly. I should have taken the bread and gotten one of the new ones.

  13. When you start treating certain board members (PL / HOS Members) differently from others (non PL / HOS) its bad news. There is no point in writing a heads up in someones thread unless its to upset them or create drama. Should we give everyone who signs up a trophy for participation as well? THATS KIND OF RUDE
