  1. When spending $400+ to have a book graded, CGC should include the graders notes and not gouge another $15 out someone spending that kind of cash In the few years I've been a member, Ive NEVER seen graders notes included in a sales thread. Ive seen a lot of personal opinions... prefect registration, tough book in high grade, bright colors... etc. All which could be debated One thing that can't be debated - that is a stain and not a "trick of the light," sunspot activity, a weather balloon or swamp gas reflected off of Venus.
  2. I heard about that, but how does it relate to the boards? They were here. They showed up in a thread after being called out as scammers. Crazy, got a link? Only for you, Vince. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=6868628#Post6868628

  4. That guy is doing it wrong. You are supposed to make it look too good to be true . . .
  5. Where there was moderator action for "excessive bumping" in an active thread?
  6. It seems like the only time that rule is ever really in play is if someone is incessantly bumping their thread, themselves, and there is no other action.
  7. I really wanted that Hoax Hunters from Symbiotic's thread, too. Stupid board solidarity.
  8. Here are my books from Joey's thread. I bought them sight unseen, and they are fantastic!!
  9. I've tried communicating with him. He doesn't respond to facebook posts I met him at a con a couple of years ago. Very friendly and engaging. I think he has had some health problems.
  10. Bill Messner-Loeb is an interesting fellow.
  11. I imagine you are trying to lighten things up around here, but that title change seems to me like you are trying to make a joke out of this situation. This isn't a joke. -slym It isn't the end of the world either.
  12. dont worry swick. the mods helped me create my posting I even provided a prediction list in advance to the mod who might disrupt/threadcap me Also, you're missing grades on all your raw books. Forum guidelines mandate "scans or grades"....digital pics that are dark, from a distance, or cut off parts of the book aren't "scans". So you might want to include grade information on those books that aren't CGC graded, you know, since you're all about being a straight edge. And also describe the vinegary smell that must needs have permeated the comics.
  13. He named the Tequila after you, Felix!!!
  14. Apparently you're not with the times. How long does 2013 last for you? Long enough to ship out a Goosebumps book. HOLLA!
  15. I didn't do any button humping. And you may be right, they could just be buddies chatting about grading. But it also says that some of the comics are over graded. Do we expect the mods to decide when that's just two friends talking and when it's threadcrapping? I didn't accuse you of button humping. You generally don't have to guess with me. The pendulum is now swinging the other way. Instead of insufficiently_thoughtful_persons threadcrapping incessantly, we now have insufficiently_thoughtful_persons searching for threadcrapping incessantly. I feel like Charlton Heston on the Planet of the Apes.
  16. Shhh. Don't tell everyone! I’m just trying to be fair, as more accurate grading is always better for both parties. To balance that, I must admit that a few books in the FVF/VF- range appear very slightly overgraded, but it is hard to tell from scans only. Andy’s grading is spot on (safely a bit undergraded, like I tend to do), but everyone has its "weak spot" where he undergrades. Mine tends to be in the G+ to VG- range – they are all G/G+ to me… You are wrong. It won't get poofed. They clearly know one another and are merely conversing about grading books. This is what used to happen all the time before the selling threads became a freak show of kvetching, hand-wringing and teeth clenching. If you look for a ghost behind every tree, you'll find one. closest thing I could find to a ghost behind a tree to be fair, if I knew neither I would be hesitant to buy any books in this thread as someone already pointed out he's over grading. to be fair #2 - i personally rely on my own grading despite what most folks put on along with their scans and these comments would not affect me nor would the others that have been posted I'm surprised you can find time to do anything else other than police selling threads.
  17. Apparently in 2013 it is. With all the button humping going on. It would almost be fitting if they did shut down the sales areas. Make sure you get the knife in there good and deep button humpers, cut that goose that keeps laying the golden eggs and get them out even faster.
