  1. I just got my first set of books with the indentations. They seem deep, and they disturb me. But I guess I will be sucking it.
  2. Any in particular, Sean? I thought they turned out great. I often struggle with the best sig placement when prepping books. Great books as always, sir The Thor and the Spidey. I had windows cut out at the bottom, underneath the action in the blank space. Don't get me wrong, I still think they look great. But I think they would have been much better at the bottom. I also understand that Stan has trouble with smaller window bag holes these days, so it was on me, not on him.
  3. Thanks, guys. Little disappointed in the sig placements, but you takes what you can gets!!
  4. Do you still owe $50 for the poster? Have you missed any payment dates?
  5. The beauty of the hobby is that there are no rules regarding first appearances. "First appearance" is a term of art not a dogmatic dictate. In this hobby, the phrase has two meanings, the first being the literal first appearance, the second being a less literal translation and would be more literally interpreted as most valued early appearance. The second definition is what most hobbyists refer to when they say "first appearance". While this may not always be literally true, most comic collectors appreciate the nuance. See AMS 300, Hulk 181, TMNT 1 ... ad infinitum. Perfect explanation. Not for Mr. Ween.
  6. Then I had better see some apologies coming from you, Mighty Mouse or Phil's Parking lot is gonna be full tonight. Suck it, Twerk Pinkman.
  7. Kudos, Pat. Everyone acts like a dong-dong sometimes. What matters is how you deal with it.
  8. This is why you're cool. You didn't start a thread about this in CG whining about how you were "threatened" just so you could get the guy a strike. I disagree. A keyboard hardman Dirty Jersey strike call-out would have been awesome. Sean.. He says he is coming to "talk" Oct. 13th in Clifton. I'm not too worried about you handling the situation, however it plays out.

  10. This is what I used to do when i was a kid and doing shows. I didn't have a store front, but I would take some of the books to other shops for a 5-25x flip. There were a lot of shops that did not care about anything except Silver and Gold. Everything else got priced once and went into back issue stock. They only used the big guide, and did not look at the Monthly Updates or CVM. It was like shooting fish in a barrel.
  11. Probably jealous that you couldn't find that sweet belt buckle anywhere.
  12. Because when it comes to copper/modern...it's 9.8 or nothing The high prices usually start dragging the raw prices up as the possibility of pressing and subbing a 9.8 is just as tempting when the book is $20 as when it $5 when the 9.8 is $150+
  13. Umm, because it derives from the term exchequer, for financial clearing house, in turn an alteration of Middle English escheker, from Old French eschequier 'counting table'. So the question is actually why Americans misspell it 'check'? (thumbs u A cheque (or check in American English) is a document[nb 1] that orders a payment of money from a bank account The Human Torch was denied a bank loan.
  14. You'd be fine holding the books until the check cleared. Technically he hadn't paid until it cleared. I had problems with a cheque a foreign based poker site sent me. My local bank didn't think it was a real cheque but agreed to try to collect the money for me. Took a couple months and they charged me $100 for doing it. A cheque is really just a promise to pay and it can take time to verify the cheque is real, that there's money in the account and to move it. 2-3 weeks of the delay in Canada is because of your use of the imaginary word "cheque."
  15. Or pump the fact that they have books coming back from CGC.
  16. I want this NOW!!! I had this idea about getting his sig at SDCC but my money was tied up in other signings. Found out he was showing up a week before the con. Was not happy that I missed out on this opportunity. I'd pay to get this but it'd be in installments. This is not for sale. PM Jonjesper. He has at least one more.
