  1. dang 203 is baller do you have any asian contacts that can source? I have subcontracted several of Transplant's Asian sourcing contacts including, but not limited to David Lo Pan, Qui Gon Jin, Jhick N. Tiki Masala, and Pad Kee Mao!
  2. It could be some kind of retailer incentive for John Byrne's Man of Steel LS that came out in the mid-80's (like the Platinum Spidey 1). I was only 15 or so at the time, and trips to the LCS were whenever I could finagle them. So it is possible that they were 1 per shop or you only got one if you ordered 10,000 copies or something. But I still think it is some kind of a custom job.
  3. that is pretty cool never seen that before whats the story morning glory? Gold paint pen. No idea who did it. I found it in a quarter box at a local show. that is a cool book. Love seeing rarities and oddities and finding them in cheap bins is the cherry on top (thumbs u any CGc'ed? Someone filled in the white box with a gold paint pen. That is neither cool, rare, nor odd. Mostly dumb.
  4. I can't access that thread. I can only read this one. You can read?
  5. That's a good idea, and as such, it is quite lonely in here.
  6. I had a family member buying comics that way for a little bit. He bought Batman 492, Batman 497 and other "key" books for their time via QVC. Each were the original book, signed by one to X creators, and came with a QVC COA. I'm not sure they had special covers made back then. But if they did, it would be interesting to find out more. That is exactly the same type of stuff that you encounter when you google Superman and QVC. Nothing indicates a special print run or new covers.
  7. What does the guy want for it? I'll pitch in $10 just for the "archeological" benefits.
  8. i have been trying different searches and nothing comes up. really bummed about this I was thinking some hardcore Superman fans were going to know it and drop me links to buy. If this book ends up being real, maybe its rare like the Bradman or that Colorado Skiiing Superman Giveaway If so I will buy one I just love the cover its perfect with no title and silver embossed logo oh well When can you see it in hand? A look at the indicia will give you lots of information. So will the guts of the comic, especially if it is a custom cover placed on a mass produced comic. If there is no indicia, then the plot really thickens. Please keep posting. This one is interesting.
  9. My last two from Phoenix - Brett Blevins and Bill Mumy.
  10. Thanks, Mike. Getting new Bronze guys was a real thrill. I didn't fast track my moderns, so there will be more Fingh SD action around Halloween.
  11. Several of these got done. This is my keeper. I also take credit for the idea to do this book.
  12. I don't know if Marty Pasko wrote as many Bronze Age stories as Maggin, but if not, it is close. Another prolific superstar that has not been at a show in the last 6-7 years. All courtesy of GACollectibles!
  13. Elliott S! Maggin - he was the guy that wrote tons of DC books from the 70's. first time I have seen him anywhere since I have been doing SS. The JLA also has Ernie Chan
  14. My San Diego Econs: the first two had Ernie Chan from back in 2007 Chan and Aragones Chan, Gerry Conway and Marty Pasko
  15. I love this one because it is MT and has Ed Benes who is relatively tough as well. http://www.myslabbedcomics.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=3561&GSub=628
  16. That book was published in August of 2008, MT passed in late June of that year. I doubt there are any.
  17. I am pretty proud of my Cardy Aquamans, but that one tops them all!!
  18. Also "The Hurt Locker" won the Best Picture Oscar for 2009.
