  1. I can't really grow a mustache. My legs are pretty hairy, though.
  2. Ohhh I hate that. I had an ASM 300 9.8 on ebay and a dude sent me a good offer. I sent him a counteroffer of like $10 more and all 48 hrs went by and I heard nothing from him. No decline, no nothing. No ebay message. He then sen't another good offer on the 9.6 of the same comic. I sent him a counteroffer for that too and heard nothing. Less than a couple weeks later I see the same dude sell a ASM 300 9.8 for basically the exact same price he offered me for mine before. I have no clue what was going on with that, but I wont take any offer serious from them and with the lack of communication would never sell to them because I have no reason to believe I would be paid and never hear anything from them. Awesome work on the $10 counteroffer.
  3. Thanks! You KNOW I LOVE those two! Actually though, the Ant man one might be my fave, it's insane in hand! The top right one is pretty amazing also since the entire back cover is also sketched. I should have flipped it and took another pic to show it off since the back is pretty freaking awesome! Congrats on being the Boards #2 Vision fan.
  4. Thanks bud. I was very lucky in just about every way. The best thing (on the comic side) was that all the people involved in the opportunity were really cool, and they had prepped their books well.
  5. Especially when you live to tell about it. Glad you were okay! Thanks dude. It was more scary than anything. I hit a huge piece of metal that was previously part of a big machine that had in turn been hit by a semi after jumping the highway separation. I had the ability to decelerate, and after I hit the metal the only other things I hit were orange barrels. No airbag deployment and no real impact. My brother was a trooper, because all I was concerned about was keeping all those freaking Aliens and Predator books with me and in high grade. I was fine about the car, but nearly pooped my pants several times over the next 48 hours over the comic books.
  6. That is a win for you? No. I don't care. I do think it is indicative of giant gonads and it amuses me. I refuse to hate Larry just because it is de rigueur. I think he acts like a horse'sass sometimes. I wish I could cash in on the re-tweet potential.
  7. To be quite honest. I have no clue. I knew the 301 wasn't 9.6 but sent it anyways. The 316 was a bit surprising. I was expecting higher as the only real problem I saw was a small split on the bottom of the spine. I haven't the heart to dish out even more money on these for grader notes. Must have been something on the inside I missed. But regardless I think i was trying to fill out more of an order so I started throwing in extra books. Sad thing is I have about 25-30 other books I want slabbed now so I should have thrown those in at the time. I missed a tiny 1/8-1/4" spine split on an otherwise perfect book and it dropped to 9.0. There was plenty wrong with the 316 other than that. If you are subbing books that you bought from 20 years that were sold as NM, you will be lucky to get 8.5-9.2 out of them. Old school grading (at least for most of us) did not reduce grade for non-color breaking wear the same way CGC does. Post some books in the PGM section. Look very closely at the big scans in some of the sales threads and you will start to get a feel of what CGC grading is really like. I was positive that I sent in 15 books that were 9.9s and 10s in my first sub. Most were 9.4 and 9.6. Don't be discouraged, but don't throw any more money either.
  8. What the heck were you doing submitting ASM 301 and/or 316 if they weren't clearly 9.8's? Chrisco! Most people screw up on their first submission. The polybag books almost always need to be pressed because the polybag itself puts a seam on the back cover. If you took a good look at the DF book before you subbed it, that is how all of your post 1980 books need to look to have a reasonable chance at 9.6-9.8. 301 and 316 were not polybag issues though. That's why I singled those out. Can't a brother just salve a n00b heiny?

  10. I can't believe you guys got these books back before I got my car back.
  11. Also, this is the first time I am showing this one. It took that long for me to calm down from Dragon-Con 2011. This did not have any color breaking spine tics when I shipped it, but now it does. I have grown to love it despite its horrible injuries.
  12. Following up AC's Aliens book with this: Fastner and Larson. Been trying to get them for years. Thought this book was a NM-, but JJ said there is Sirloin Burger soup or something spilled on it. I still can't find the stain. Anywho,
  13. Yup. I think the underlying problem can be blamed exclusively on one factor. All the damn modern Walking Dead books that are being subbed. Everyone stop sending in this junk. I have 5 junky modern WDs that are on slow track from SD.
  14. In what manner, homeslice? I have plenty of books that don't justify subbing knowing I have to wait 6 months or more. That is neither putting up, nor shutting up. Shutting up is not an option. Then some up needs to be put.
