  1. I have been party to that many, many times. Never for 8gs, though.
  2. Insta-flip blanks with palsied handwriting. What's not to love?
  3. You definitely could be right. When I was active, I would have paid a premium for the "cockroach" ASM 129.
  4. I think just the opposite - clean, sharp, well-placed Stan sigs will command a premium.
  5. I don't begrudge him. I just think that is too high right now. People in the market know what mine went for, and I got a lot of unfriendly feedback on my pricing. On the other hand, if a 9.4 Creepy #1 SS is an $8000 book, whoever bought mine should feel f-ing fantastic about their investment, and maybe the market is just flat out hotter and higher than I ever thought.
  6. I'm not being defensive. I'm just going to require you to actually read what i post, just as I read what you post - it's important to respond to what is actually being said, not what you wish it said. It's also helpful for n00bs and youngsters who weren't around to understand that some of these books have been hot and cold 2 or even 3 times since publication - and not constant wall books.
  7. I didn't say dollar box, dude. I said discount bins - as opposed to wall books (which you were talking about). Dollar boxes, 3 for $10, $5 boxes etc. Many of the copies I bought still had the $25-100 tags still on them and they were unceremoniously dumped into DISCOUNT bins. Reading is fundamental.
  8. No. 340 is one of the books that nosedived and was available at blowout pricing through the late 90's and early 2000s. All McFarlane Hulks and Spideys, Liefeld New Mutants (yes, including 87 and 98) Punisher and Wolverine books, Death in the Family etc. All these books went in the discount bins.
  9. I spent a lot of time laying out my thoughts on Frazetta sig value in the other thread. I think $2000-$2250 is the fair range for the 7.5
  10. It's a real shame if anyone paying real money for those without knowing what they are.
  11. Normally, I wouldn't think so - not when my 9.0 sold for $3500 recently. But with the $8000 sale of a Creepy 1 9.4 SS who knows right now?
  12. What a ripoff. I though this was about trucker movies.
  13. You paid a large premium for a one of a kind item. You sound pretty stoked about it, so it seems like the opposite of a mistake!
  14. I agree with you - I don't think there is anything purposeful about it. The new cases with no newton rings are just beautiful.
  15. That certainly may be correct, but I am not talking about the clarity of the plastic, rather the clarity of the case - the ability of the comic to be clearly seen through the case. The Newton rings obscure that clarity.
