  1. GPA 12 Month: $1,373 GPA 90 Day: $1,809 GPA Last: $1,748 After eBay fees + PayPal fees: 12 Month: $1,194 90 Day: $1,573 Last: $1,520 I offered $1,500 fee free. Both your sarcasm detector and possibly your sense of humor need service work.
  2. Page rates increased some, but it was mostly the royalties that brought you the big paychecks. Pencillers may have gotten $200 per page, but they were getting 10 cents (or whatever) per copy sold. Lyle got money because Robin had like 4 different hologram covers and it was ordered really heavily. A lot of second stringers made good money because you'd pop a hologram or a foil cover or whatever, and stores ordered like crazy. Didn't matter that none of them sold to customers. Andrew Pepoy worked on the ASM 365 hologram art. And he said that it was one of the biggest paydays he ever had.
  3. Those B&W issues take signatures soooooo well. Love them.
  4. That made me laugh. I think we agree that suspension of disbelief must be at max level.
  5. Shaky science that is never explained properly. It doesn't really bother me. They've never explained how Tony Stark's brains and organs haven't been liquified as a result of some of the punishment they have taken. That's easy. The suit contains a gyroscopic self containment inertia field that stabilizes everything inside, much like Vibranium absorbs shock. That doesn't explain what happens when his brain bounces off his skull during rapid deceleration - like when the Hulk caught him before he hit the ground at the end of AV1
  6. This may sound crazy, but I bet a teaspoon of honey, agave nectar or cane sugar will make it even better. Not enough to sweeten it, but to counteract the tartness of the tomatillos + the slight bitterness of the roasted garlic.
  7. 4 Serranos is a lot of heat. I don't like to cook with anything hotter than serrano or de arbol, unless the people are down for serious heat.
  8. Shaky science that is never explained properly. It doesn't really bother me. They've never explained how Tony Stark's brains and organs haven't been liquified as a result of some of the punishment they have taken. You reeeeeaaaaaaallllly have to be committed to suspending that disbelief in order to enjoy these movies (and the comics quite frankly).
  9. I thoroughly enjoyed Ant-Man, despite the blown-up Thomas the Tank Engine sized holes in the science.
  10. I just did some checking. I sold a bit over $4,000 worth of mystery boxes in the last year. Had exactly one complaint, and I offered to make good or refund the price. I've spent about $5,000 on books directly from the boards and another $3,000 on books I first saw here that were on ebay from board members. If my products are no longer welcome, I'll vote with my wallet and no longer buy here either. Not exactly a win-win situation for anyone. I would suggest you buy some more toys for your pram, you've thrown all the others out.
  11. :whispers: Andy, wiggle your jello slowly if he's standing right behind you.... :whispers: "Is he in the room with you? If so, blink twice!" Honestly, that's a pretty cool thing for Andy to say. Incredibly rare for anyone to say anyone on here ever taught them something or changed their mind on something. Wiggly jello excepted. That's for sure. In the vernacular of my family, "Andy's good people." He's good people, for a coinee.
  12. You think more highly of yourself than you ought, and you think that this has something to do with you, personally. It does not, as I have now said repeatedly. I am discussing principles. That you happened to be "A catalyst" is meaningless; it would have been the same response from me no matter WHO was involved. If you wish to believe that this is personal, and that you are some sort of victim of me, that is your right to believe, despite the evidence of me literally ignoring every word you've said for years. You are the one who had the problem with me...not the other way around, as you very well know. You don't own principles. You don't own ideas. If I choose to talk about a principle that happens to touch on an issue you've had, that doesn't mean it's about you. You instantly notify the mods when I post something you even suspect is about you. I am asking you...again...to abide by the same standard. Please stop referring to me in your posts, as I have not referred to you in mine. If you think this song is about you...you're singing the wrong tune. Thank you. Irony, it's what's for dinner.
  13. Flaming Carrot #16 - first appearance - There are 7 total copies on the CGC census... all grades. I still believe Mystery Men would be a box office hit today... after we've all seen Avengers and other superhero movies.... because it takes the serious superhero movie and makes it fun/parody with star actors. The problem with Mystery Men is that it was making fun of the comic book movies before we all had seen a bunch of comic book movies. That movie was hilarious. It is still in my top ten favorite comic movies. Frak you later, Frankenpuss.
  14. That's some fantastic sleuthing you guys have done there. -J. This is one of the things that these Boards are great at. You can also see what happens when you are dealing with an A++ Seller (and person) like Andy. Transparency and a history of sterling transactions are providing unassailable data that proves: (1) that there is a concerted effort to bolster or prop up the values of SW; (2) That there are legit purchasers who are willing to go above historical GPA averages for the book, but not to the "artificial" levels and (3) there is at least one zhitbag that is creating havok with fake accounts and superhigh non-paying bids
  15. This is exactly correct. If MIB were a new franchise, the early books would have spiked to $500+ They are hard to find (relatively) and they were read, so there are a lot of 8.5-9.2 copies (as all of mine are.)
  16. I demand that everyone post a copy of their tax return. If there are any fishy deductions, no comics for you. #HALL OF SHAME FOR ALL
