  1. Here you go I actually think the back up story is better, but thats another story for another day
  2. Dunno about warehouses, but comics were plentiful when I was a kid (1970s) I worked as a paperboy in 2 different Newsagents and both sold comics and bought back issues back in, re-stamped and sold again, down the toon were a few specialist shops, Timeslip was the best comic shop ever and I was never out of there if I had a few bob in my pocket (which wasn't too often ) Sunday there is an open market on the quayside and there were a few comic stalls, probs collectors, as a childish fool I adopted the same strategy as many and went for quantity over quality, 5 recent comics were much more appealing than 1 old comic for the same price I have to say I collect everything, but DC was my first love (Batman, Detective, Adventure comics, My Greatest Adventure, Strange Adventure, Brave and Bold, Mystery in Space) and they were much more plentiful than Marvel, I mean I wanted all but would buy DC titles over Marvel, but you could get anything here, Gold Key, Charltons, Dell etc I remember at some later point when I started to fill out all my titles and had gaps, people I knew also had the same gaps and I was like why are we all missing the same numbers, the first time I went to a comic mart and saw the stickers ND on a comic, I was so happy that these books I had searched long and hard for actually existed, then I saw the prices dealers of the day wanted
  3. Great stuff I dont have anything like that level of memorabilia and what I have has been packed away unseen for the last 25 years, I always concentrated more on the comics, but it was great to see a few things pop up what I haven't seen in a long time, I love the Golden records reprints with records, I still need the Avengers 4, seen a lot of people with the comics, not so many intact. I love the Strange Tales #1, I had a wtb thread for one here when I first joined and passed on a few what were too pricey but would be bargains now (it's always the way ) Yeah, fantastic
  4. I buy all the time on here, there is no better place to almost guarantee, cheaper prices, better grading, honest sellers and perfect packing. In all the years I have been buying, I don't ever remember making an offer, I either if the price is right, or I don't if its not, that way you never have to deal with these type of issues and there is always another book around the corner. I think if you have put the in a sellers thread, then honor the deal and keep your rep intact, then just don't from them buy again. Around these parts, your reputation is all you have.
  5. My Greatest Adventure is a great title, I was given 3 comics when I was a kid and one of them was MGA #37, we didn't have much cash in those days so comics were few and far between and I read them every night and I guess it shows MGA comics are what got me started collecting. -and I still need 8 issues
  6. I was just gonna post again as I thought my pics had disappeared, then I realized he created 2 threads
  7. I dont have any of these titles scanned except Xmen 63 which has no stamp and Avengers 84 which has a stamp, but its very faint, will check out the others later if I have time.
  8. This Hi Sha Here is one of mine and it still fits the thread with only 6 on the census, the cert said 9.0, I think, it came back an 8.0 but I only paid about $50 for it a few years ago
  9. You guys were rich in the old money days, I used to get 1 shilling pocket money and that was only if I was good that meant that I rarely got anything I did learn at some point to proper kick off in a shop when with my Mam, she hated the embarrassment of an unruly kid, so to keep me quiet, I would get a comic, outside the shop, the comic was took off me and I was grounded to my room, but at some point I would get the comic back. It worked with Aunties too
  10. Thanks Andrew, I have loved this affordable DC collection 1.5 long boxes of misc 1940s-1960 titles I'll do in another thread a couple of months from now
