  1. Great thread I enjoyed it much! :headbang: I got out of comics during the Aluminum Age as a early teen then early 2000's discovered ebay and said mess now I can buy al these comics I wanted as a kid but couldn't find at my local shop...then went back and forth for a few years on ebay until about a year ago some guy called "Stupidman" on the ebay comic board turned me on this place! Instead of checking the latest centerfold or metal band while I drink my coffee before work I have been here everyday. I have been learing a TON and enjoy it!

  2. First and only ASM 9.8 on Pedigree Grand Auction! :o

Wonder what this one will fetch??!! :headbang:

I guess this is a new Bogata (New Jersey) Collection...is it a certified Pedigree Collection? Anyone know anything else of the collection? And while we're on the topic, who ultimately determines a collection to be a bona-fide Pedigree?

    Description from the Auction:

BEST EXISTING COPY! World's first and only NM/M example. It has taken over 10 years, but finally there is a 9.8 of this all-time classic Amazing Spider-Man issue. You just couldn't imagine a nicer comic book than this mid-1966 blazer. It was purchased by the original owner off of a newsstand in Bogota, New Jersey, carefully stored for the past 45 years and then just recently given to Pedigree Comics, Inc. to have CGC certified. The book is PERFECT!! Just check out the top and bottom of the spine, the other 2 corners, the spine and the edges. Plus, it is exactly centered with exact staple placement. Features the origin of the Green goblin in a fantastic Stan Lee story with a masterpiece cover by John Romita and Mike Esposito.

  5. It is a very taboo subject, and people will reference it from time to time but it never get's discussed in depth with most people hoping the subject goes away. What Roy said is accurate from all accounts but it's all you'll see said on the subject in a public forum.

  6. I once bought a $180 Fawcett from him. I wasn't happy with the book, and asked him if I could exchange it for a $180 DC he had for sale.

He replied that a $180 Fawcett isn't worth as much as a $180 DC. hm

You should have asked him to pencil a nice Church code on the Fawcett to make you feel better.

Why not? He's done it to other books.

    Please do go on...I'm curious.

    Me too please....

    Me three. Details, please...

    ..and still waiting :taptaptap:

  8. I had a serious flea problem once. I flea bombed like crazy 5-6 bombs....a week later I had more fleas. The only thing I found that worked was a generic version of The Advantage type stuff I bought at my local grocery store.... "gold" something or other. It was about $10 for 3 months treatment. A liquid you put on the cats neck. The next morning when I woke up where the cat was sleeping was at least 30 dead fleas on the ground. That and plenty of vacuming I haven't had them since. The bombs and sprays and powders did not work for me. I am a clean freak so It was a nightmare having fleas! Had no issues with my comics when I bombed. They are pesky buggers that multiply like crazy! One will lead to 100 in no time.
