  1. No shipping imfo again. I have to double check my email addy with Isreal next time I buy something. It's got to be something on my side. Can't wait to get it. An Isreal signed key(I prefer that as he's an important artist to Locke & Key now and Joe's doing a signing next month in ManchVegas).
  2. L&K #1 has been a sleeping giant since the end of 2008. These "NM" books have gone from $20 to $5 on eBay since then. That was the perfect time to collect this series. Blame Dimension Films(we got a Scream 4 though, yah!) for not making it then, whether or not Weinstein had no money left at the studio since his departure from Disney or Joe didn't want Frank Darabont(who was very interested pre-Walking Dead) attached(he didn't want to compared to his father, so he was against Darabont's involvement reportedly). Mainstream speculating collectors just signed off any value once nothing ever was made, by Head Games #2-3. I began to think I had a dog, when sellers wouldn't even try to grade any rare or Signature Series ones anymore. The title then chugged along un-noticed by the majority of Modern Age funny book collectors, despite, the book's almost flawless story-telling. Needless to say, I got worried when 9.8's on eBay were going for $5 in auctions. But, I came on here and started to promote the series to new readers as much as I could. The L&K thread only had 750 views two Januarys ago and was stuck in between pages 3-5 alot. Blair Butler, praises it as her pick of the week alot too and finally, it is being developed into a live action property. I'm seeing an definite uptick from those dark days of 2009. Do I care? Not really, because I'm not going to sell my books. But, like every other collector. I don't want to collect something that has no resale value either. I have to say I'm just happy where the prices are now and look foward to the potential series in the fall. If you owned one, you would see it immediately. IDW put out some interesting variations of their books throughout the L&K run. I remember picking up the second release of #4 WTL off the stands and going "What the hell?" feeling how light and flimsy it was. It didn't feel like an IDW book.
  3. Mr. Locke & Key submitted himself last week and only got a 9.8. Running out of oxygen.
  4. One of my favorite funny book writers I just discovered, not too long ago. (thumbs u
  5. Be nice! Quit being a sycophant. Looking that word up while on dial up. Don't go anywhere for fifteen minutes. Oh, this hobby is doomed.

  7. Jon, Are you going to NH's May GraniteCon, where Tony is making an appearance? Not sure who I want to meet more, you(if you do) or Tony/Kara. Both of you guys are legends.
  8. You can't really see it in this picture. But, here's the post I made near the beginning of the thread. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=3740208Post3740208 The first #4's were more supple and had a rosier cover and the second release of it was made to go in the 2008 SDCC Slipcover set and meet the current demand. The top staple on all of them are slightly bent.
  9. OK... Does the WTL #4 have a top bent staple? ...and what color tone is the COS #3?
  10. Do United States Blu Rays work in Canada? I thought they were Region locked? Only in the blu ray compatible igloos Wrote/worked on the sales intro this morning. Some of my best writing, IMHO. Now to find the time to actually starting it.
  11. The DVD says: Making of The Walking Dead Inside The Walking Dead Episodes 1-6 A sneek peek with Robert Kirkman Behind The Scenes zombie make-up tips Convention panel with producers The Walking Dead trailer with... Zombie school Bicycle girl On set with Robert Kirkman Hanging with Steven Yeun Inside Dale's RV On set with Andrew Lincoln It sounds like alot, but according to most DVD reviewers it goes by too fast and feels bare bones. I would have been more forgiving with commentaries from Kirkman and maybe a b/w showing of at least the pilot.

  13. I need to start up a Blu Ray sales thread here, because I have way too many un-opened duplicates.
  14. ....terrible movie! Is that the one with Mr. Mariah Carey? 'Cause if it was, that one blew!
  15. I agree it was made that way intentionally to give it a primal "look" like the original Texas Chainsaw movie with 16 mm. But... I tend to come out of a movie that has loads of grain too(Predator, 300, Gladiator), like when the Hollywood phone number of 555-... is used. I don't like DNR mind you too(The Ultimate Predator Edition ). I just like a crisp picture(The Dark Knight, Up!, The Matrix), I guess for the Bravia. I just don't want to pay top dollar for a grainy picture(Burn Notice), that I pay half the price and can upconvert to 720p(just as crappy) anyway. Not all Blu Rays are created equal, just because they say it doesn't make them Blus(Die Hard 2, Tomb Raider, Mission: Impossible, Tombstone-slightly boosted picture quality)
  16. I wish there were more extras. Originally, there was an animated version of the first issue on my cable ondemand. But it only covered 1/3 of the first issue. Woulda been nice had they finished it and included it on the dvd. +1 Audio commentaries on all the episodes from Kirkman would have been the DVD equivalent to "Letter Hacks", IMHO. I would have loved to hear his thoughts on certain new plot directions and characters as they played out.
  17. Bought the DVD to The Walking Dead Season #1 today. I loved the first and fourth episodes, but had mixed feelings about the rest so $10 felt just right. If it hits $10 on Blu, I'll double dip.
