  3. Oh, yeah? If you're so good at packing, how come you sent me a slab with only a mailing label attached to it? (Seriously, great tutorial, Gav! (thumbs u )
  4. Then you are going to love the few pages starting here . Self-promoting link alert! . Of course, I had already read them, Andrew. (And yeah, that kind of stuff is exactly what I'm talking about! (thumbs u )
  5. Just when you think you've seen all kinds of stupid. Unbelievable! Simply amazing! Acting like this to a guy that STILL found it in his heart to give the little twerp another chance and went out of his way for him. Connor, you don't know me, and we'll probably never meet, but I gotta hand it to you, kid, you've given a whole new meaning to a large number of four-letter words! Be thankful that Steve B is a nice, peace-loving (in a hippie-ish sort of way) guy. If you'd done something like that to me (and a few others around here, I'm sure), you'd probably be eating through a straw right now. (thumbs u
  6. Have I mentioned how much I love comics-related graphs and charts. (thumbs u

  8. Yeah, I saw it too on the JD #1, but after seeing the exact same thing on the Usagi, I figured it was a spot on the scanner bed. (thumbs u

  20. Petty is an understatement. I once ordered a few hundred magazine bags from him, to be collected from a Manchester, England comic mart, which at the time I attended regularly. When I arrived, he told me he'd decided to sell them all to someone else shortly before, and "unfortunately" had none left. Then he said, very forcefully, "It's OK that?! - Isn't it?! - Yeah?!" That is, attempted to browbeat me, on my first order with him, into accepting that this selfishness and total lack of concern was somehow acceptable behaviour. (Oh, the mart had only been open an hour, so I wasn't late-in-the-day or anything.) I thought quietly to myself, "How utterly pathetic and desperate. All over a few comic bags." I then said, "Well, you could fill my missing order by mail?", to which he replied, in a very angry tone, and pointing extremely aggressively at my face... "Yeah, and you'll pay the postage!!" (This was in front of a pal of mine who has a table at the mart, by the way. I always like to give some indication that I can be substantiated.) So, regardless of the nature or value of the order you place, a few cheap bags or a CGC Batman 1, the misbehaviour never seems to stop. Personally, this makes my skin crawl, literally, and I can't be far enough away from it. One of many here in Britain, apparently. IMHO, you should not have said a word. Just stand there, staring at him. It doesn't have to be a mean stare, or even a cold stare. Just stand there for a minute, looking straight at him, not saying anything or conveying any emotion. Then, turn and walk away, with the knowledge that not only will you never do business with him again, but will relay this very story to anyone who mentions him. Sometimes, silence speaks louder than words... -slym (just not on a message board) And maybe drop a fart out halfway through. I'd probably beat the mess out of him. But I probably have some anger management issues, so I shouldn't be used as an example!
  21. They make me cry because I can't afford them! Well, I could, if I focused all my comics budget on 5-10 high grade golden age books per year, but I find cheap mid-grade silver irresistable and I also have a compulsive need to acquire (literally) every post-68 comic book printed. By the way, that is one hell of a book! (thumbs u
