Hit a sale on Saturday where the guy was selling the last of his comic and comic collectibles collection. He said that the real vintage stuff was long gone at various shows this summer which was borne out by the newness of the comics he had left. There was a ton of Superman merchandise, action figures, posters, signed stuff like double signed Dean Kane/Terri Hatcher photos, post office commemoratives, signs, birthday hats and plates, etc., etc. Everything a Superman collector could ask for - which I'm not so I passed on all of it. The comics were new-ish DC's, mostly Superman again. And he also had about a long box of Simpsons comics which were nicely bagged and boarded and which he was asking $.50 per for. I tried to talk him down on those and would've pulled the trigger for maybe $40 for the long, but he wasn't budging so no deal. I bought 10 random Simpsons for my son for $5.00 and that was that.

Another one bites the dust...Add Grimace to the list Ugh. That just stinks. He had some decent experience/knowledge, too. Sigh. Plus he's a tastebud! How can you NOT be able to trust a tastebud!! This is an outrage!

Unsigned versions have surfaced as well.

Small stack of 80's indy books at a garage sale this weekend, including a batch of high grade Silverwolf comics! Also picked up an Avengers 50 and four Superboy 12 centers for $.50 each, VG to Fine ish condition.

You know, I've owned a copy of this comic for years and I never noticed the severed head in the pile. I guess my eyes were drawn elsewhere....

It IS good to know, since the USPS web site itself does not allow you to print Media Mail online. Since MM is treated like the stepchild of shipping options by the PO, I consider DC to be a requirement if shipping using that method. I think it keeps them from neglecting those poor MM packages moreso than otherwise: "I better get those ones moved out of here at least; they've got DC...."

I would go , but it's not really all that surprising, sad to say. Just another turd in the punchbowl that is this hobby. If you can work an angle and make a buck without earning it, why not, right? That seems to be the mentality of so many in the collectibles fields, including comics. Where's that FU gremlin: Ah, here we go, just turn 90 degrees and lower the index finger ------>
