Sometimes, I had to tell myself by choosing between it's a worth expense or NOT. Before both Ms. Marvel #18 and SSM #64 were subbed, SSM #64 looked flawless but Ms Marvel #18 has a tiny color break crease on the upper left corner. I expected to get 9.6 on Ms. Marvel and 9.8 on SSM but it went opposite. I called them about mixing up the grades. They told me no flatly and anything was perfect in order. I knew they made a mistake and their grades still stands. I think the decider (the grader) wrote the wrong grades on both books before QC. Maybe QC mixed it up. Ms. Marvel #18 CGC 9.8 was sold for over $900. That guy was going to have it signed at the show. I won't be surprised if it got 9.6 afterward. He can lose about $350. I cracked the case (Bob, I am telling you the new case is not hard to be opened) and resubbed SSM #64 without the label. It came back with 9.8. So, my expense was a worthy one even I knew they made the mistake even they won't admit.

Next time, you bring any fragile aged books for dropping off at CGC booth at the show. That is the most safe place than shipping. Also they can take a good look at your books at no charge.

4.5 - between 4.0 and 5.0 due to detached at two different staples (CVR & CF).

Was the centerfold attached to both staples before subbed this copy to CGC? Surprised that book didn't get the green label due to the detached CF.

That is nothing new. I have seen them signing themselves at work.

It doesn't matter which is best service. It depends on the driver. Both UPS and FedEx drivers are extremely nice and friendly to me. I heard my friends' horrible stories about their drivers who handle their package. There are two kinds of the driver: the driver who cares and other driver who doesn't care. My drivers are really caring that makes me happy. That is their job. I am terribly sorry for my friends suffer because their drivers DON'T care! They never leave notes on the door and intend to leave their packages on the driveway not by the door. Some packages got soaked during rain. My drivers always leave me the note and know where to put it in a right place under the roof.

Make sure your package is a bombproof. Some lame employees load 70 lb or more packages toppling the stack of packages. Few boxes were crushed badly. Inside the trailer is about 12 to 13 feet high. Think about how much weight when it gets stacked up to the ceiling. Too many Amazon boxes are crushed and opened. Those Amazon employees CAN'T pack them at all. It goes same thing with Sam's Club, Target and Wal Mart. About 80% of them were once-taped over the closed flaps - one tape isn't holding well. Well, it is better to tape two or three time then cross over the flaps with tape twice. Do the same thing the bottom of the box. Yes do little excessive with tapes to protect your investment. Speaking of two to three day ground service, it is better to ship on Tuesday and Wednesday in afternoon so it will go overnight to next day. The highest volume is on Mondays and Tuesdays so you have to avoid shipping on Thursdays and Fridays so all packages will go through weekends that will be carried into Mondays and Tuesdays. You don't want further damages on your books during the highest volume. I have seen many items were scattered all over places inside the trailers, hubs and belt conveyors. The 53 foot long trailer can contain up to 2,500 boxes in varied size and weights. While I work on my shift, there are 110 trailers per day at my hub before two more shifts. Pack and secure well. UPS will cover the shipping cost ONLY. It doesn't matter to UPS if you pay the insurance.

Let CCS do it, it's an amateur work. If you do it, it may be a major damage.

If CCS removes the price sticker, I would bet on it with 1/2 point bump. I won't be surprised it gets a green label if the price sticker remains on the book.

Pressing will help. I had few books with the tracing mark indentations. It kicked about 1 point up.

The cover is still attached firmly to both staples. I believe it is 3.5 maybe taking a shot at 4.0.
