  1. With a post marked

10/17/12 06:10 PM Re: Introducing Ace Continuado 1st CGC sketch opps [Re: Ajl007]

    I asked for a

Double Side Cover up to 4 characters 185.00 Batman blank

I paid promptly via Paypal. Few weeks later, got a scan of my book...

    AceContinuadoSketchcover-RAWcensored.jpg

It's been 3 years +++... Still no book.

1st string of emails, encompassing approximately a year, I was told that the book went to CGC, and never returned.

2nd string of e-mails, approximately Summer 2013, I was told that the artist had felt bad, and drawn me a new one. Cool. flash forward a few months, the book was back from CGC, and would be mailed out. 5/19/15 The book never arrived, I never received a scan. No replies to my last two PMS dated 8/19/15

    Suggested course of action?

Cool sketch. That thief is your money snatcher. I am sorry that you have to go through.

  2. there were prices on some of the sleeves from original purchase - but they were just asking $1 for any issue. Gambit did not have a price tag. They had the gold Marvel Age of Apocalypse TPBs for the same $1 each. I left those behind, but probably should have picked them up, too.

    THAT IS A BIG STEAL!!!

Gambit #1 Gold can be sold between $50 to $600 in depending on the condition.

Lady Death #1 Gold isn't strong in dollars but $1 is bargain.

  3. Gene's and Jude's

That is 7 miles from Allstate Arena and 4 miles from Donald E Stephens Convention Center (Wizard World Comic Con). Just drive south on River Road. Sounds yummy to me. Never ate at that place but I will try it after the show next month.

Johnnie's Beef isn't too far either, on North Ave. in Elmwood Park. Also worth the trip.

Bought all 2016 passes a week after 2015 WW Chicago Con for only $73. I can try both places in two days.

  4. yes Rosemont

    yes Mad Magazine reprint 1972

I don't think the seller will come back, do you think so? I just checked GPAnalysis for that Marvel Mystery Comics #34 for either 3.0 or 4.0. The 4.0 copy was sold for $534. $800 for that copy was reasonable but the seller blew him off.

The seller is someone who sells video games all the time

He said these were from his father but I'm not sure what to believe as the rest of the box had a few magna at the end.

I told him to get them graded to maximize his value or consign them with an auction house.

    His reply?

  5. Hey War Comics lovers/hard core collectors (what else should I call you?),

I am selling '50 War comic books right now that you might want to grab one or all.

You can brag your war comic books all day as you like. Please check this out: '50 war comic books for sales

Good luck and have a safe July 4th!

  6. To all eBay buyers/sellers,

Please block jkcollectable as the seller (location: Riverside California).

I won this item - Deadpool #47 double cover

I received the book but this is not what I expected. This is just a regular copy and I opened the case against the seller included two pictures. He has not responded me until two days later. He asked me for more pictures to verify it. I emailed him back with four more pictures. He said there are too many scammers. He thinks I am one of them but actually he is one of them! The case is still pending but I feel this is time to block him out/avoid him.

Please block williamiris2 as the buyer (location: Rarcliff Kentucky with APO/FPO address - that is a military base).

This item was sold - Doctor Strange (1974) UK version

I allowed him to extend his time to pay this item (it was over two weeks). I reminded him to pay on June 15 as we agreed previously but he erupted on me. He gave me many unpleasant words like ISIS sympathizer, wall street snot, one language narrow mind person (I know French, Spanish, American Sign Language, English and some foreign sign languages - he told me to take Spanish course) and many names. He threatened me with his US attorney. I decided to cancel the order for him and he wanted to move on (he was wounded three times in Iraq - I felt sorry for him but at the same time I was nicer to him for the whole time and he gave me a big sh--t). I don't deserve the mistreatment and blocked him out. Please block him for non-payment and lame excuses/mistreatment. What is more about him? He has not agreed or responded to my request to cancel the order for over a week.

  7. When was this, Bob? Which ones did you get?

    ???

    Very cool nonetheless!

I bought my Oaklands directly from Vinnie's Collectibles at a convention in Chicago, somewhere in the 1998 timeframe. Though the collection was very new to market, it was still picked over by the time I saw it. I bought all DC, most of the Marvel was taken, maybe I got one X-men. I was happy to fill in a lot of holes in my collection and they came with a cool COA. In hindsight, I would have bought them all !

Can't expect everything at once but it was a nice moment you had one in past!

  8. Pumped to get these in the mail today. Happy to add them to my small (but quality :) ) SA war collection.

I don't see them in the great condition very often. How can I miss them? However, I have GIC #91 CGC 7.5 and OAAW #112 CGC 9.0. Great finds!
