Well, the verdict on this copy is in from CGC. I will post the slabbed scan in a week or so when I receive it.
9.0 like you thought or a surprise to the upside? The registration on the book is killer.

I have been presented a 4.0 restored #1 and guy wants $800 for it.
It's so hard to pull the trigger.
There are plenty of unrestored copies. For a tad more than 2X that amount, you can get an unrestored 4.0. For a fraction more, you can get a 3.0 or 3.5 unrestored.
Play the disinterested card and i bet you can get the restored 4.0 for less.

A shrine to Traci Lords? Someone is still living in the 80's.

This one went pretty cheap. Well, relatively speaking.

Congrats on finding that rare cover (thumbs u been looking for one myself let me know when your ready to part with it
Thanks dude! Unfortuantly I wouldnt sell this for any amount?
My wife will kill me but Its priceless to me....
There might be a couple more hiding in the US but as far as I know, I have only seen two. Chesperito's and mine....
Mine took 6 months to find in any grade! I was lucky even then..... Since that first aquistion I have had my contact in south america trying to source me a higher grade copy... that was about 8 months ago and nothing? And he has been sourcing and selling mexican comics for a long time so if he cant find it? These things are extremely hard to find and rarely come up for sale even in south america and mexico.
Money talks of course... and I am sure if american money started looking for these, some might come out of the woodwork?
But... lets be real guys.... these variants are not that cool, you dont really want to start hunting these and driving prices up for me do ya?
Would you be willing to let one go if you find 3 or 4 more? I'm certain you could sell them to boardies here!

The dealer made an honest mistake IMO. He is commissioning the book and thought the guy wanted 595.00 (he wanted 1595.00).
The dealer said he cannot afford the 1000.00 loss. You know, I believe him.
That's why we're working it out.
If the book is on commission, it's weird that his listing reads:
I just got this book back from CGC today!A really hard book to find in this condition
A 1959 (53 year old) GEM!
No best offers PLEASE.
**If it doesn't sell I will put in in my personal collection**
I hope you get the book. It sounds like you really want it. But the seller doesn't sound like a straight shooter. The guy should just accept $1595 and be grateful for your understanding.
+2 The seller has really good feedback which really makes this unfortunate. Even if this was a mistake of leaving off the extra $1,000.00, he should sell the book for the $1,595. This should have been done already and not now upping the price per minute. Really poor form.
I really hope this is resolved to your satisfaction, PeeWee.

That variant is killer!

Just messing around on ebay tonight and lazily did a search on Bat 121 and this came up. Just put on minutes ago. I clicked so fast the keyboard is still spinning!

This guy is refusing to sell me the Bat 121 at the BIN price of $595. I'm pissed.
Help!!
What is he claiming, he meant to list it for $1,595? Good luck, I hope you get the book.

In my opinion, the most important book I have ever held, and possibly the most famous and beautiful cover ever produced by the king of comic art, Bob Kane. This is the best Christmas present I have ever got. My father bought this for me, the best dad in the world.
Slight A (best case resto).
I am still in awe to hold a Batman 1.
Awesome!
Congrats and make sure you buy your Pops a drink of his choice (or two). (thumbs u

Since I started all this, figured I better show off mine...
Sweet copy!

This was one of my Christmas gifts from my girlfriend!
Your girlfriend is a keeper! Nice book.
Merry Christmas!

Just got in this relatively pretty copy. Anyone for Skittlepool?
Sharp copy!
The best copy I have found raw is a 7.5. I wish I could find a nice 9.2 raw to go along with my slabbed copy.

Great books, Ghost Town!

That book would look great in mylarJust got these two I submitted at Wizard World Austin this year. I think the GL 16 got hammered a little too hard though...Back cover
If you submitted it yourself did you see the tape stain?
Did it run the whole length of the page?
What a great looking book that 16 is. What a shame on the water stain.

Update on the FF 26 in question!
A few Boardies felt I wasnt disclosing enough information about this comic.
So, after contacting Comic Link to find out where THEY got the book, I spent all weekend making phone calls, sending emails, and some internet research, tracing the history of it.
As it turns out, it all started right here
They couldnt tell me when it was planted (sorry), but apperantly is was harvested sometime in 1963.
I hope this clears things up (thumbs u
I really wish you had disclosed this earlier.
Oddly enough...I can see that his comics and your ahem "paper products" all came from the same place.
Upon closer examination, it appears Mr. Bedrock prefers al fresco to underoos.
Not for nothing, but I'm looking at the gap in the shirt, and I'm not seeing anything hanging.
He must have the anatomical structure of a Ken doll.
All Select #1 tends to make me point in a different direction.
What is the page quality on that book now? White or Cream to off white?

Was the book a straight resub or was the book pressed then resubbed? I for one would certainly like to know ALL of the information prior to making an offer on the book.
-
That is a gorgeous copy. If the back cover is clean, I think you are at a minimum of 9.2. Love the wrap on it, too.
Is Batman 227 the "key" Neal Adams Batman book to have?

Wow, I actually guessed it right!!!! Since I guessed 9.2 if you ever decide to sell it.....
