  1. I'm pretty sure for an auction that indicates it hasn't been paid for yet, or that it didn't sell (if it got zero bids).
It goes under completed listings red then changes to green when paid + it's also posted to Sold Listings. It stays red if it's not paid for, gets no bids or the reserve is not met. So many rules.... :ohnoez:

    Not true.

I just looked through completed listings to find some comics that I sold in the last two months that the buyers never paid for - they are showing up green. I assure you they never paid.

I love how deadbeat buyers will now leave you astounding feedback in the hopes that you will overlook their lack of payment and not report them as a non paying bidder.

  2.

I bet the winning bidder gets buyers remorse and never pays.

I'm to the point where I just don't believe that these non BIN auctions that reach ridiculous prices are actually getting paid after the fact. Very little seller protection on ebay. Lots of winning bids are from low <100 rated buyers who could've created new accounts because of non paying strikes on other accounts.

  3. I have to admit i dont see why watching tv on an xbox is appealing to anyone ... We have tvs for that?

As the patriarch of a family that is completely inept at changing from one tv input to another, the fact that the TV can stay on one input for the majority of the time, and be changed by voice commands that my wife can yell at the TV, is actually a good selling point in my house.

  4. i need a 2nd bluray player and a decent one with streaming runs 150 to 200...might as well pick up a ps4 if its 399 or so. I dont think sony is going to come out of the gate with a 600 system again.

I think at 399 i'm a buyer. Any higher than that and I still feel like I could build a decent htpc.

  5. The internet infrastructure isn't there yet. You'd be surprised how many console gamers still don't go online with their machines. PC and consoles share many games, but they are two very different markets. There's overlap of course, but there's little benefit to Sony and Microsoft abandoning the retail space to try and do what Steam does. People who invest in a high end PC to play games are also more likely to be tech savvy, and by extension have access to a reliable, quick internet. There is a lot of money in the "casuals" who just want a box to play the newest Call of Duty or Fifa or Madden on with their buddies.

It will get there eventually, but it's too soon for Sony and Microsoft to go that route.

The Internet as we know it at present was never designed for all the things that we use it for. I understand that there will be some alienation of gamers b/c of lack of internet access, but there were rumors prior to the formal announcement that the xbox one would require an always on internet connection.

I find it hard to believe that MS and Sony didn't get slightly worried at the rumors of a Steam Box, especially with Steam's big picture being so easy to use. As a longtime PC gamer, I can speak from experience that you can have a quality gaming experience, especially at 1080 or 720 television resolutions without having to fork out money for high end PC components.

Key point for me is going to be price point. If these systems start out at $499, I think I'm going to try to build a nice HTPC for general gaming, blu ray playback, and netflix/youtube streaming at the same or even lower price point.

  6. The publishers are seemingly trying to move away from physical retail boxes and go exclusively digital. And judging by the Xbox One conference, Microsoft is trying to dominate the living room, and they're going off the rails in the process. After the Xbox conference, Sony's stock price went up. So ultimately, it really isn't clear who will have the leg up going into next gen. E3 sure will be interesting this year.

Valve has been extremely successful in the PC market with Steam and digital downloads. Games are cheaper as well. Don't see why MS and Sony don't go that route. I realize that some gamers will be alienated b/c of lack of/poor internet access, but I'm sure that number is in steady decline.

Its been hard to justify paying $59.99 for an xbox game when its $10 cheaper on or near release through Steam.

  7. I dont mind waiting if Fast TRack is normal of 2 months....

Not to be snarky but do you have any other option but to wait, regardless of turn around time? :foryou:

I dont mind waiting...that wasnt my complaint...

Is 2 months a typcial fast track service?

I imagine CGC turn around times will go from 2 to 3 months Fast TRack and CGC is getting their money and we are not getting the service...

Its my fault because I work in NY Stock Exchange and i have to adhere to a trade date and 3 days later you settle or you can go into penalty...

Im just happy to get them whenever but i paid to get them in what i was told of 20 Business days.

May 29th would be 60 calendar days....

    Gotcha. :foryou:

Reading this thread from beginning to end would probably be an eye opening experience for you if this is your first submission. I don't submit often, and there are other guys that can probably give you a better detailed assumption of what's probably going on. My guess is that more people are fast tracking because of how far behind regular submissions got last year, and therefore CGC is having trouble keeping up with the fast track workload.

Who told you 20 business days? From what I gather CGC only gives that number as an estimate. That number also doesn't factor in holidays, days at shows, etc. Could be wrong but I think I've read on here where that number also doesn't take into consideration encapsulation and shipping.

Did you complain when you called?

  8. Its going to be interesting to see how things go over the next four weekends. I would be curious to see if TATs get worse, or get downright unbearable.

    Fixed that for you.

I remember around the time of Heroes last year the TAT started getting utterly ridiculous.

  9.

Remind me why this book is hot again? I see it on the copper age trending section of Lyria Exchange but for the life of me I don't know why the 1st Black Mask is so dang interesting to everyone. hm

This is just my thought, but after watching the Batman/Red Hood animated movie today I realized that Black Mask plays a big role in the movie. That movie is really popular on netflix now.

Probably a longshot on that, so its just a hunch.

Edit: Also, judging from the new Arkham Origins trailer, Black Mask is the primary villain.

  10. Aqua teen hunger force is one of the cartoons of our time.

    where is its comic book?!

Like the live action episode where T-Pain is frylock and that guy from Archer played Shake and stuff

That guy is H.Jon Benjamin. He's also the voice of Bob on Bob's Burgers.

In fairness, ATHF did get a movie feature.

  11. Also found this auction for Futurama comics interesting - Futurama #27 & 29-36 @ $36 & 4 bids interesting because it seems to me that Futurama is getting trendy. hm

Isn't the "final" episode being shown sometime soon?

havnt they already had like two final episodes?

I think so and the word is out that there's a petition or something online to bring it back again.

I love Bender as much as the next guy, but sometimes something good has to be laid to rest.

  12. Shouldn't CGC just hire more people. Isn't that what you do when your business gets bigger? I'd say either do that, or change the estimated turnarounds to the actual turnarounds and get rid of the FAKE numbers.

    They have.

Go back in this thread approximately 11 months ago and look at what the ToT were back then.

You'll also hear people saying the exact same thing you're saying.

  13. By NBC? I would imagine they were worried about putting that level of violence on their network. Funny thing is now they have Hannibal.

I'd look at it as a positive to be passed over by NBC. Just doesn't feel like the right network. Personally I think a basic cable outlet would be better - AMC, FX, etc..

  14. 84 sales above $25 listed in the public ebay history, with the highest being $46 back in February, just for some context:

    Revival Sales Ebay Link

Cheapest BIN CGC 9.8 on Ebay:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Revival-1-first-print-CGC-9-8-/130899049976?pt=US_Comic_Books

Cheapest BIN RAW (claimed 'NM') on Ebay:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Revival-1-First-Print-NM-/271200950015?pt=US_Comic_Books

and lower than the auction, with x5 available.

Here's my dilemma:At raw prices like that vs some of the slabbed 9.8 prices, is it even worth the time and hassle to get 9.8 copies slabbed?
  15. Holy . I priced this thing so high thinking no one would even sniff it...

    Spawn 9 newsstand

In fairness, they haven't paid yet. And if the last month is any indication, most folks don't like to pay for stuff they agree to buy on ebay anymore.

someone please tell me why this book worth so much, I thought there was at 1 million copies out there. I knew I had at least 10 somewhere in one these long box.

    are they newsstand covers?

The only difference I've seen between the newsstand and the regular direct edition is the addition of a barcode on the front cover.

Mile High and mycomicshop treat newsstands as variants and price them at a premium versus direct editions.

  16. I haven't dropped any PP 1 sales info lately as I haven't really been keeping an eye on them...

That said, I did take a gander at a recent raw sale....holy mackerel the raws are still hot:

    Peter Panzerfaust #1: SOLD @ $430.54

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/140940213627?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

It's sales like this that make me question whether or not buyers are actually paying those types of prices, or just having fun in a bidding war.
