  1. Best one yet!! Agreed! Brings to mind the Monty Python song that goes "I'm a lumberjack and I'm okay..."
  2. Wow! Great books! Not a single cover in the bunch that I don't really really like! There all sah-weet! Four Mystery Men issues and an early Hit in one fell swoop! You sure have nice friends, Ms Sharon!
  3. I think that's an icepick. IIRC, Kaanga and Ann were about to sit down for cocktails afer a long day of slaying evil slave traders when the gorilla burst in causing Kaanga to accidentally pour way too much vermouth into the gin, thus ruining the entire pitcher of Martinis. Kaanga grabbed the ice pick to exact the appropriate revenge. It's a lesser-known plot device for Jungle Comics, but a classic nonetheless. You are mistaken because Marguarittas are the appropriate drink after a hot day in the Jungle. Who would need an ice pick when they were making martinis? You must be getting it mixed up with the time Kaanga threw a jar of pickled onions in the gorilla's eyes and they then fought it out with those little tiny plastic swords. Classic story. Your both missing the obvious - clearly it depicts a log rolling contest, the ape is throwing his arms up in celebration of a hard fought victory. That Kaanga guy is just being a sore loser! If I could read his thoughts I'm guessing he'd be saying "No mere ape can defeat the mighty Kaanga at log rolling and be allowed to live! My trusty ice pick will ensure that this one never log rolls again!"
  4. Well. if you ever upgrade your #31, I'll be your huckleberry, color touch or not! Comiclink had a nice #51 put up maybe a year ago. I really like the cover. Here's my copy:
  5. Thanks, from you that's a great compliment, but still almost half to go! And yes, content wise it is a great set. As for your mosaic, I was kind of hoping a few other guys might show and tell - how about a work in progress, even if all the scans arent in yet?
  6. Nice Jumbo collection! Wanna sell me that 70? As part payment for your #31?
  7. You should know better than to post that by now What was I thinking! Sensation #101: #102: #103: #104: #105: #106: ...and here is my copy of #106 for good measure:
  8. Yes, Zolnerowich is terrific - I especially love these two:
  9. I agree about #92 - this is the best copy I ever found, and recently let go. The copies on Comiclink were much nicer than those generally - if ever! - available. The post-romance issues have some great artwork and stories - notably Astra. I'll post some pages if anyone is interested.
  10. Here we go Cimm, 89 Jumbos for a rainy english Sunday: Such a fascinating title - so many phases, so many great artists - yet Sheena is there from start to finish! I especially like the Whitman covers, but there are so many classic covers throughout the run!
  11. both f those covers prove how good & under rated Harry Anderson is. And to think he went on to religious work after comics! I think that mystery tales has the potential to hit $700 personally. Nothing would surprise me!
  12. I've seen copies both with and without the blemish on #33 -sometimes the tyre tracks can be heavier.
  13. I cant pretend to be an expert here but if it were mine and I wanted to sell it I'v be very disappointed if it went for under $300, and I'd be looking for it to hit $500. Above that might happen if the heavy hitters get stuck in - there is no copy in the census. But Alan might have a better insight.
  14. Thank you! I find I love sharing with you guys and gals! And it was strangely satisfying to assemble the image. Hmmmm - how many Jumbos do I have? Let's see...
  15. A work in progress (posted elsewhere but I guess it belongs here too): [
  16. What exactly is going on in that cover? Girl in the showers! With a 10-year old Japanese towel boy? Both with identical expressions! The reinforcement intended to de-stress the innuendo and backfiring in the process!
  17. What exactly is going on in that cover? Girl in the showers!
  18. That is one heck of a 9.0! Wonderful catch! As an artist myself I find the color palette on the late Fiction House issues simply amazing in the way they generate an almost "painterly" feel. Those Longbows are prime examples.
