  2. Absolutely stonking book! 'Scuze me while I go eat my heart out. I'd rather have this copy than the NM on Metro!
  3. I love the horror cross-overs like this! Me too! (Ghost Rider anyone?) That was an interesting tidbit about Romita and the cover of CM#3. I wouldnt have spotted it, but I can detect his hand in the girl's face now you've made me aware of it. Did he do the cover of #5 as well do you think. Alan?
  4. Crime Mysteries is an awful title - dull stories, poor artwork, a collector's nightmare. I laugh at people who collect it. It's embarrassing. Dont buy it. Buy Lassie instead. NOOOOOO ... not Lassie, my run isn't complete either. Let them collect Little Iodine. Maybe my interests are too far ranging Were those your only issues? Love the # 3 which is a swipe from a Spicy pulp. I sold my #2 a while back. I had #1 and #4 but sold those a couple of years ago. [HEALTH WARNING; COLLECTING CRIME MYSTERIES OR LASSIE COMICS WILL DAMAGE SCROOGE'S HEALTH - COLLECT FUNNY ANIMAL COMICS INSTEAD!]
  5. We really ought to start an Everett thread! Anyone have a copy of Mystery Tales #11 to show? Or for that matter, any other "unseen" Everett?
  6. Crime Mysteries is an awful title - dull stories, poor artwork, a collector's nightmare. I laugh at people who collect it. It's embarrassing. Dont buy it. Buy Lassie instead.
  7. My favourite Ken Shannon cover (anyone got a better copy to show?)
  8. Super-Mystery Comics often had interesting Rudy Palais artwork
  9. I've always had a fondness for the later issues in this run.
  10. My copy is going to look just like that - er - when I can find one!
  11. Surely! Bought many years ago for the princely sum of $80.
  12. Precious few in my collection but making progress! And another:
  13. Tough in grade! (Sorry about the artificial light) A few samples:
  14. thanks for posting Jon! Any chance we could see that Exciting #3?
  15. Fabulous set Jon! Love that Exciting...#3 is it? Such a tough book! I've always preferred the Wonder comics covers to the Startlings! That Planete #39 is so tough in grade! Those Science Comics would be so much better off in my collection! In fact, as I look at that shot, I'm struggling to find a single comic I dont need! In fact I hate this post!
  16. Many congratulations Kelly! That's a tremendous set of Planets, high in techincal grade and also very pleasing on the eye! Thanks for sharing with us. In celebration of your Planet collection, why not post a few more of the very best copies here - I'm sure we would love to see them and the belong here!
  17. Alanna for the win!!!!!!!!! no doubt; proud of my two little penn's above, but holy mack'el andy! and an excellent example of o'street being out of the know--by guide the subby 7 in 8.0 is worth over 3X the rangers in 9.2. but i'm fairly sure on the auction block the rangers gets a bigger hammer call. Yes, this particular issue seems to have "broken out" recently. Heritage sold a VF+ for an astonishing amount recently and followed up soon after with a FVF copy that went for about $1200! But I'd have thought the collector base for the Subby is going to be a lot deeper in the long run?
  18. Yes, I think you pretty much nailed it witih those as the scarcest issues. I might add TR #43 to that tough list!
