  1. Result! Nice packaging. I may need to save it. My garage is beginning to fill with unusual flat boxes. So, for future reference... nudging Heritage may be required. Good to know.
  2. I've resisted using that feature but perhaps I should reconsider. Do most of you guys use it?
  3. Well, where's the fun in that? I shouldn't have to nudge anybody to receive my property in a timely manner. But... fine. To take their side for a moment, if you look at the totality of stuff that they auction, so very much of it must be an absolute bear to ship properly. Swords, armor... wine... paintings; and that's just off the top of my head. Comic books, comic art, coins, currency, & trading cards must be a breeze compared to that. But even then, a responsible company can't entrust the safe packaging of all this valuable stuff to a bunch of temps off the street. These guys have got to know what they're doing, and be pretty specialized. The loss of even a few of these type of employees from their shipping dept might well be devastating to their schedule. I'm just saying, if their shipping is under strain, is it really the time to be ramping UP the number of auctions? (If that's what's happening; I guess I'm talking about the layman's perception here) The appearance of competency should be a high priority for any business, in all departments. If your shipping dept is struggling, ramp up employment. If you can't attract good help, bite the bullet and increase compensation. They're certainly spending enough on their Sales, Publicity, and Accounts Receivable. Lots of auctions (i.e. sales) with poor follow-through is a Bad Look for any company. IMHO. (That said, yes, this evening I have nudged. We'll see if it has any effect)
  4. Hey Race, 'Cancelled' is bank-speak for a properly-cashed or -deposited check. It wasn't 'voided' which is something different. AcA
  5. Has been a month since the auction ended. No word except for my cancelled check. Please consider 'as read' the usual rah-rah about the vast number of auctions they keep hyping yet seem helpless to ship in a timely manner. Thank you for your attention. EDIT TO ADD: Package in-hand. Scroll to bottom to view.
  6. Here's how much I want to complete IMAGE's 2003 MICRONAUTS #11.For the person who has that one pesky missing page I'm willing to trade THIS COVER. Yes, you read that right. TRADING A COVER for ONE INTERIOR PAGE.If you don't own it, but know who might, feel free to either poke them, or drop me a line. Finder's fees to be negotiated!
  7. Looking to match the gift with at least 20 MORE Artist-Edition type volumes by year's end. Dark Knight... Prince Valiant... Bloom County... Enemy Ace... Rocketeer... Groo... Nick Fury... Alien... Hellboy... Percolating on a few more. Since I have more time to assemble the gift this year, I've been able to be more patient waiting for good deals, slightly used copies and such, and may be able to include more books on the same budget. I will add to this thread when the gift is transferred at yearend.
  8. Consistent, if declining results. I imagine the consigner is disappointed. Wonder why this keeps getting flipped, I hope it isn't because the owners think Micronauts collectors might lose their minds or something.... I have yet to bid on this one, but amusing to watch.
  9. I usually use sleeves with my 13x19 Itoyas. Not for archival purposes, but just so I'm not physically touching the paper when handling pages.
  10. Snagged one 90's-era splash page for $400. Pretty happy. AcA
  11. I have one piece which was pencilled digitally, then inked manually. I have quite a few where I have the pencils and inks paired together on separate boards. It's kinda fun when you can pull off getting both. I also have quite a few where the inks are digital, so the pencils are all there is. I only have one where I own just the pencils, and the inks are elsewhere. Since it's a Ringo, I accept the personal exception. I make a point to make certain that the digital pencils/multiple board examples in my collection are well documented: in CAF, in my art inventory records, and with the pages themselves. That's only being responsible, and is paying forward to any future owners of the art. I hate having to look closely at FS art, the better to make certain of what exactly I'm considering; and it's a pet peeve that sellers are often ignorant (or worse) of the issue. One wishes they would be more informed and forthcoming from the outset, but that's the world we live in now. Collectors need to educate the dealers on what is important to us, and we do that by being persistent in our questions and consistent in our purchasing. Digital options in the industry has not been a boon to the collecting hobby.
  12. When there's 2 boards, I don't commit to one unless I can confirm I've got the other as well.
  13. Well, since that's what we're ALL doing, I'd guess Fire Sales are going to be unlikely.
  14. My take on this show is that it's a mashup of a typical 'Comic Art Con' with an unbelievable Artist's Alley, and nothing else. Basically, a dream scenario Convention for most in this hobby. We can only hope a US version takes root here.
  15. Correction: I now have two out of the three covers for the series. Am officially on the LOOKOUT for the last one! https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1815572
  16. I concede that bit above is snipped from the overall post (which is never completely fair), but in or out of context it still pretty much says the same thing. Are Dealers unhappy with the Hobby's willingness (or lack thereof) to go along with current pricing? Despite some grumbling, I was under the impression that buyers were still being found with little difficulty. A contraction in the hobby (while a consummation devoutly to be wished) is clearly NOT imminent.
  17. A Skybox 1993 'Art de Bart' sketch card by Matt Groening went for 10K on the 'Bay today. And it's only an 'Ordinary' Bart sketch, Groening drew other Simpsons characters at first, but mass-produced Bart sketches when he ran out of steam. Is that the most ever paid for a sketch card??? It's got to be up there... assuming the seller actually collects. The winning bidder had a few more bids lined up over the underbidder, so he must have REALLY wanted that card. Makes me think about dragging out my own 'Art de Bart' from storage. Is the underbidder on this board?
