  1. ...and yet people joke occasionally about 'punishment bids' (a practice which I would resent, if actually attempted). Just another type of 'shill bid?'
  2. "Hey Gio, I own the original art which you're basing your piece upon. I have no objection to you doing a recreation (though I can't speak for Arthur Adams) but, should you sell this, I would strongly request you sign it in your own name, and mark it correctly as 'After Arthur Adams' which is industry standard for recreations. Best, A"
  3. I suppose I'm inclined to agree. Artists do recreations all the time. I may contact the seller and tell him I won't make a fuss so long as he signs it with his own name.
  4. Wow. I'm a fan of Faberge's Imperial Eggs, and this is the first photo I've seen which shows off the increasing scale of the later eggs. The closest equivalent to the Imperial Eggs which America has offered are Sports Championship Rings. (The Lakers ring from last year even has a surprise inside, too, very like the Faberge' treasures.) There don't seem to be any books on the subject, yet; but someday there will be.
  5. MMmmmmmm... I'm going to be vague, forgive me. Let's just say it's most of them.
  6. Hitting store shelves tomorrow!!! Exclusive signed edition will be available on IDW's website.
  7. Liefeld was present? Huh. Must have been a great opportunity to chat with him away from the press of a 'typical' con.
  8. Yup, a color guide, purchased in a misunderstanding long ago. Managed to unite it with its parent page a few years back. https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=727909
  9. Here's something I've been working on for a few days. I own an unfinished Butch Guice cover concept from 1983. I was inspired to 'follow-through' on the concept that Guice abandoned so long ago. This is copic markers on a separate print of the original art.
  10. I've posted at length about this before, but I have three issues of unpublished MICRONAUTS, from a failed attempt by Marvel to relaunch the title in 1998. This first issue is here, you can find the other two easily enough in my gallery.
  11. I have one of those, too: GRIMJACK: OUTLAW IN HELL miniseries. Never got close to print, but some of the covers got made: https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1647719
  12. Despite the pandemic, work on this book has continued. Editor Scott Dunbier has posted a couple of pages which he is in the process of proofing. Book hopefully out September-ish. Two editions.
  13. For a long time, I resisted the idea of making my own art to add to my own collection. But, after awhile, I've found that if you have the time and ability, occasionally it's the best way to get the result you're looking for. (But I usually employ a professional assist at some point in the process) But that said, my collection does include my own pencils (Lightboxed, with professional inks) My own inks (over professional blueline pencils) My own digital colors (over a professional commission) My own copic colors (over a digital composition combining OA and personal designs)
  14. That exchange just illustrates that the piece was never really FS in the first place.
  15. I can't speak for anyone other than myself, but I don't buy it. I suppose if there isn't a replacement auction with the 'correct' Sienkiewicz painting for sale, then we'll have an answer of sorts. The auction house should have gone for the reward. (Maybe they still are, behind the scenes)
  16. The page is clear now, with no pic. Either the auction date has passed, or the house has taken down the offering. I wonder if we'll hear what happened. I hope so. Andrew
  17. Hello all: I know I have posted about this page, even recently, but I'm changing the REWARD OFFER for the rest of this year, so it seemed worthy to post again. I am still casting about, looking for - PAGE 6 - from the Image Comics version of - MICRONAUTS, issue 11 -, published 2003. It is the LAST page I need to complete the interiors. I have been looking for it for over a decade. The artists were STEVE KURTH (penciller) and BARBARA SCHULZ (inker) DETAILS on possible location / History: - Neither artist has any particular recollection of the page's disposition. - This suggests to me that the page was sold or donated early on, 2004-2005 or so. - Both artists are based in the Midwest, so the major cities to which they may have traveled in that timeframe would mostly likely include Chicago, Milwaukee, Madison, Des Moines, Minneapolis/StPaul. Or thereabouts. But so much time has passed, the page could conceivably be anywhere. - Other members of the 2003 Production Team have been canvassed, and they do not have the page. - When sold in 2004/2005, this page would have likely been well under $100. DETAILS about my REWARD OFFERS: (Yes, I said 'offers' in the plural) - I have maintained an offer of ONE THOUSAND frakking DOLLARS for this minor page. It still stands. I have two further offers that I will make available until the END OF 2020 ONLY. - $500 Finder's Fee to anyone who can direct me to the holder of said page. - IN ADDITION, a further $1,000 will be DONATED to the local Food Shelf of choice of said Finder. If the owner simply comes forward, all three offers will accrue together. Until the end of 2020 ONLY. So, anybody know any closeted MICRONAUTS collectors? (I KNOW there are some out there!) It might do a bit of good to touch base with them and ask them to go through their stuff. Or encourage them to contact me directly. I'm just trying to get this particular monkey off my back. Some have suggested to me that the page may actually have been lost or destroyed. Holding out hope still that this is not the case. An image of the page in question can be viewed above Andrew

  19. I have had that option floated to me, and it personally is not of interest. Others clearly have no problem with it. #setinmyways
  20. To me, the critical point is if the piece is published. If it's unpublished, considering the digital as a prelim seems acceptable to me. If the digital version is a published version, then any traditional version created afterward can only be considered a recreation. My
