  1. With the infamy that book has achieved it would probably command a premium...
  2. Nice photo, it is always a pain to arrange them when the DCU boxes are all over the place.
  3. That is one of the benefits of the SS program. While Kirby passed before the program began, plenty of other creators have autographed books for yellow labels. You can obtain those books through purchase/trade and be guaranteed of having an authentic signature. Many people are getting Stan for the same reason, but there will definitely be no shortage of Stan SS books unless the hobby grows tenfold in the next 20 years.
  4. Good to know! Just to clarify, so I can plan accordingly, if I’m present at the show and handling my own books and you’re simply witnessing is it still $11 per book, or is that fee just for mail in/drop off submissions that are more labor intensive for you? Same question for cracking. If I crack my own in your presence do I still pay the cracking fee?
  5. Others have noted the shift in signature placement has been heavily influenced by slabbing. You can’t see an internal signature through a slab. Personally I like interior signatures, and you will still get SS labels with them as long as they are witnessed. But most want to see them. I am one of those who likes to collect yellow labels, and have no problem with signatures on the vast majority of books. My problem is with cover signatures on super high grade vintage books (earlier than 1965ish) or keys. Yes, they’re your books, for now. But I am of the opinion that we are merely caretakers for the next generation. Altering a true gem that has managed to stay beautifully preserved for 50+ years is not my cup of tea.
  6. That, and most of the examples shown aren’t even in the top 25% of the worst Stan signatures.
  7. That is definitely true. Options are good to have. Happy to explain my choice via PM if curious.
  8. send an email to the part in bold.... you should get some details there Please post the answer here. I’m seriously considering making the trip and would like to know. There can sometimes be a difference between giving your books to a facilitator and getting that person to witness you getting your own books signed to submit for SS. I’d prefer the latter if I get a choice.
  9. Nice! I’ve seen a few of the Animaniacs #2 but the LT #8 is one I haven’t found yet. Great pickup.
  10. Anyone get a chance to read this yet? I managed to get a trade, looking forward to checking it out.
  11. Some of the Batman Adventures multipack variants have that bat symbol in the UPC. There are some DCU variants, but others have that bat symbol like on your example.
  12. Whoever it is I’m guessing they aren’t a comic guest...
  13. This definitely sounds promising, thanks for the detailed review! If Ace can get through their growing pains, and maybe move out of a sports arena and into a more traditional con space, it sounds like these shows could be good moving forward.
  14. Five months away! I’m hoping to actually make it to this show this year...
  15. @Kevin Boyd, any progress on getting any major publishers to set up at the show? A Marvel or DC booth in particular would be awfully nice, but Valiant or Image would certainly work too.
