  1. I loved getting the CBG in the mail, and read every one front to back. Loved the ads (bought several books through them that I still have) and loved “But I Digress...” in the back.
  2. Nope. I can see why it could look like 6 fingers, but to me it always looked like a sliver of palm.
  3. I don’t disagree with your point about Cap, and 100% agree with you about Iron Man.
  4. I'm more disturbed by two other details I never noticed before: Cap's tiny left leg and Giant Man's two right feet.
  5. Or, go fully old school and have the book signed at the bottom of the first page. You'll still get your yellow label, and the cover art remains clean. Win-win.
  6. Looks like the cover may have separated at the top staple as well, I can see what looks like internal paper on the side of the staple opposite the spine. With both staples having commitment issues you're basically looking at a cover that is essentially detached, which is pretty much an automatic 2.0 best case. That, plus the other defects, gives you a 1.8 with pretty good eye appeal for the grade.
  7. Three months away! (Plenty of additional names added too.)
  8. Dates posted. Maybe this’ll be the year I can go.
  9. So is the first wrap married or a photocopy?
  10. I had a great time at the show this past weekend, it was maybe the most fun I have had at a show in the past couple of years. We had a stronger showing at the booth this year, with sales well above what we did last year. Friday was fairly slow, but Saturday and Sunday were fairly busy all day once they got rolling. We were in essentially the same booth we were in last year (same island but opposite corner), just about halfway through the room. Off the top of my head we sold two copies of NM #98, Thor #337, TOD #10 CGC 4.5, JLA #1 in about Good, X-Men #266, Batman #357, FF #48 CGC 4.0, and several other wall books I can't remember because I am so tired from only getting about 4.5 hours of sleep last night. Sales from table stock were also solid. I was trying not to buy much at the show, but there would have been plenty to tempt me if I had the funds. My main pickup was a Strange Tales #51 from @Dale Roberts that I couldn't say no to. I also picked up a lower grade JIM #14 dirt cheap because a few panels had been clipped out of the interior. The cover and centerfold are present and nice, so its a reasonable donor if I can find a coverless or other copy in need of parts I have. I've been dragging all day but managed to fight my way through my two class lectures. Now I need to go home and try to stay awake until a decent hour and get caught up on sleep.
  11. You going to do a report in the 2018 thread? I am hoping to get something up there later today, along with some photos from the weekend (I still didn't take as many of other booths as I should).
  12. Looks like this thread was for the 2017 show, but hopefully they will announce 2018 soon so you can get some info.
  13. Looks like dates are set! Home Page Facebook page
  14. I know I “recognize” people by their avatars before their names sometimes. Posters like @Buzzetta, @Boozad or @RockMyAmadeus are instantly recognizable just by those distinctive avatars. Any time we change for holiday themes it messes me up.
  15. I've found good stuff on Friday, and I've found good stuff on Sunday. It depends on what you are looking for, and how lucky you happen to be in a given week. Last year I made my best collection purchases on Sunday of Planet, one off of a wall and one out of a box.
  16. Was reminded of this post. The definitive WD thread is back. And to update, now five shows and still zero sold.
  17. Load in starts today, weather for the weekend is looking stupendous, what's not to love!
