  1. Yikes - I know a lot of people were wanting to go just to see him. Yeah, it is going to hurt. Not sure that Miller has nearly the following that Momoa has, so that replacement isn't going to excite everyone (though Miller has definitely done fewer shows, so it could be a plus).
  2. This. GCG doesn’t condone stealth witnessing, nor should they. Long term health of the SS program is more important. I’ve heard that Starlin will sign for SS, so I’m going to give it a shot. I’ll report back.
  3. Thank you! Can you also check on whether he’ll sign for CGC books? I’d heard that he won’t, so I’d just like to confirm before I’d try. No need to him off needlessly.
  4. Some of the Fox books get that because of the paper used. You see that on Phantom Lady books as well from time to time, which is the first place I saw it.
  5. Have there been any changes on the Starlin/CGC front? I was hoping to have a book done this weekend at North Texas, but if he is still refusing then I will just get some raw books done.
  6. I just can't see how anyone could set up a comic booth in a 5x10' space. Maybe you could get a narrow free-standing wall up behind an 8' table, but could you possibly sell enough to justify the cost of the table and actually make a profit after looking at the costs of the books? With it being your local show it keeps costs down, but unless you're selling some seriously high margin stuff I can't see it being worthwhile.
  7. Problem with that is that everyone would swear that they were just there to look at the vendor booths, until they got into line to see the celebs... If Wizard can't fleece everyone at least a little bit their cost structure wouldn't hold up. Guarantees for these celebs has gotten out of hand.
  8. Gotta pay for all those celebs somehow. I don’t know how anyone affords these shows if they’re chasing celeb autos and photo ops. And Wizard is cheap compared to what I heard about Ace.
  9. Definitely. I’d guess that depending on the print run the TPB will be the book to have if this title gains any following.
  10. TTA #59 coverless for my stack per PM. Hoping to catch a SA big dog, about that Sgt Fury #1...
  11. Here’s an option. Tell them to hold it until you’re ready to have it shipped. They run an auction every month and it’s possible to pick up a few along the year. It’s just a comic book, you really don’t need it in your hand to prove ownership I second this, and should have remembered to mention this to you myself. I don’t pay super high shipping and have done this (especially since I pay via check, so they often haven’t shipped the last auction’s books by the time the next one starts). They’re very accommodating with these requests.
  12. International guy has to pay for “free” healthcare. It evens out. Still a first world problem.
  13. Your per book still goes down though. 3/$20 is $6.67 per, 4/$25 is $6.25. And I thought I was the cheapest @zz of them all...., Just looking for the silver lining. Not to mention this cr@p adds up.

  15. Good question. The two books on top of that pack are on the more difficult end of the scale in my opinion. It would help explain why there were fewer DCUs beyond 1994 as well, if only because there were half as many copies in each brick. Which books are on the back of that brick?
  16. A month out. Hopefully Stan’s recent health trouble doesn’t cause him to cancel...
  17. That Doomsday pack was the one I was thinking of. Very strong asking prices on the couple sealed ones I’ve seen.
  18. Got some booth assignments for more boardies: Duncanville Bookstore: 1811 Monster’s Lair Comics: 1811 Black Cat Comics: 1811 (yes, all 3 in the same area) CoMo Comics: 2117 @SSkufan, where are you going to be?
  19. I may be wrong about this, but didn’t at least the MOS #18 come out in a boxed set of 5-6 books? I could swear I’ve seen sealed sets on eBay with asking prices of stupid money (like $800).
