I think a little transparency wouldn't hurt. If CGC could just put up a post explaining why some new Modern subs are getting done super fast while others are stagnant, it would do a lot for Customer Service. I mean, it's not like some big secret that some lucky few are getting their books back while others continue to wait.

It would literally take 5 minutes or less to just put up a post/announcement regarding details on the how and why.

They may have decided that it would open a bigger can of worms to acknowledge it.

Wow. 50 books Received, SFG, and Graded . . . ON THE SAME DAY.

We had two subs do that on Friday, meanwhile we have plenty of other books from June that have been in GEI for weeks. Literally weeks. Single books from signings. For weeks.

From what I've been watching, pretty stable, maybe a slight uptick for ST & JIM.

EDIT: On the flip side, haven't seen any real "deals" either - seems to be a steady demand for anything that comes to market.

Definitely no "deals" being had on any books in a decent grade.

    Yep it was awesome.

@Kevin Boyd the staff/volunteers were absolutely amazing.  Everyone was friendly and happy to be there that I interacted with. FED is the highlight of cons for us at this point.

The United in Fandom design I LOVE. Made sure to pickup a shirt and the con bag with it.

@Kevin Boyd, I agree. Staff was great, and load in and out went incredibly smoothly. Just a pleasure to do this show.

Thanks for posting. Looking at the prices, I almost thought they were gauging -- then, I saw various dealers all had sky high prices. 100 to 500+ to buy a minor key now, what was maybe 20 dollars a decade a go.

I'm sure glad I cleaned up then. Haven't looked much at prices in a few years. Like others, kicking myself, for so many I passed on over the years. Then again, who knew we would be in a 20 year inflationary FED fueled mega boom, that hasn't ended yet (that and comics in movies exploding).

We always try to price off either GPA or eBay, or some combination thereof. Those tend to help dial in market pricing at that time, at least the eBay prices tend to estimate what people would pay if we put the book on the site (adjusting for fees of course).

There are always different motivations for pricing a book a certain way. Acquisition cost, geography, expenses, and personal biases towards what we think are cool all come into it. As for us, we like to move product while insuring we can afford to stay in business.

I’m still not convinced that a lot of these prices are sustainable long-term (especially in the variant market) but for now this is the sandbox we all get to play in.

Also didn't see you.  Sorry bout that!

No worries, I assumed that you and Adamantium would be there and I was sorry to have missed y'all. Good intentions to say hi to everyone often get lost in the shuffle of a huge show, unfortunately, and we were pretty slammed all weekend (fortunately). I don't think I saw half the booths in the room over the three + days I was there. The only book I bought was from a guy who walked up to the table...
