I think a little transparency wouldn't hurt. If CGC could just put up a post explaining why some new Modern subs are getting done super fast while others are stagnant, it would do a lot for Customer Service. I mean, it's not like some big secret that some lucky few are getting their books back while others continue to wait.
It would literally take 5 minutes or less to just put up a post/announcement regarding details on the how and why.
They may have decided that it would open a bigger can of worms to acknowledge it.

More tales of woe...
I have two different in house signings that have been GEI for 2-3 weeks. These are single books, so I am mystified why they haven't moved in that time.
Then I have two 25 book modern subs that were put on the invoice list the third week of June that are still SFG.

From what I've been watching, pretty stable, maybe a slight uptick for ST & JIM.

EDIT: On the flip side, haven't seen any real "deals" either - seems to be a steady demand for anything that comes to market.
Definitely no "deals" being had on any books in a decent grade.

Was a great show and I picked up some great things.
Thanks to @mysteriofor working with me on this and allowing me to add this to my PC as even a 1.0 Captain America Comics #1 is beyond my price range now.
Happy to send it to a good home!

No the 2022 date for Fan Expo Chicago will definitely be in the summer. I can't share publicly yet as the 2022 schedule is not public. Not late August though.
So between mid-May and mid-August?

October 15-17 is definitely happening. I’m turning over images and bios to marketing today for the comic guests.
I meant for 2022 when y'all take it over. Please don't tell me that it will be in October next year...

Yep it was awesome.
@Kevin Boyd the staff/volunteers were absolutely amazing. Everyone was friendly and happy to be there that I interacted with. FED is the highlight of cons for us at this point.
The United in Fandom design I LOVE. Made sure to pickup a shirt and the con bag with it.
@Kevin Boyd, I agree. Staff was great, and load in and out went incredibly smoothly. Just a pleasure to do this show.

Thanks for posting. Looking at the prices, I almost thought they were gauging -- then, I saw various dealers all had sky high prices. 100 to 500+ to buy a minor key now, what was maybe 20 dollars a decade a go.
I'm sure glad I cleaned up then. Haven't looked much at prices in a few years. Like others, kicking myself, for so many I passed on over the years. Then again, who knew we would be in a 20 year inflationary FED fueled mega boom, that hasn't ended yet (that and comics in movies exploding).
We always try to price off either GPA or eBay, or some combination thereof. Those tend to help dial in market pricing at that time, at least the eBay prices tend to estimate what people would pay if we put the book on the site (adjusting for fees of course).
There are always different motivations for pricing a book a certain way. Acquisition cost, geography, expenses, and personal biases towards what we think are cool all come into it. As for us, we like to move product while insuring we can afford to stay in business.
I’m still not convinced that a lot of these prices are sustainable long-term (especially in the variant market) but for now this is the sandbox we all get to play in.

This is the last Wizard show, they sold their live events to Fan Expo HQ.
I was just assigned comic creator bookings for it last week, and should have some news around the 21st.
Any idea when you will have firm dates?

Already looking forward to it, and we only have to wait 9 months!

Also didn't see you. Sorry bout that!
No worries, I assumed that you and Adamantium would be there and I was sorry to have missed y'all. Good intentions to say hi to everyone often get lost in the shuffle of a huge show, unfortunately, and we were pretty slammed all weekend (fortunately). I don't think I saw half the booths in the room over the three + days I was there. The only book I bought was from a guy who walked up to the table...

Thanks for starting the thread, one of the things I miss about the old boards is the post-show pics and recaps threads. I feel like I need about two straight days of sleep, but it was a great weekend! This felt like a "normal" show to me in just about all ways except the mask mandate. Great crowds, plenty of books, and quite a bit of money changing hands. Very much looking forward to the next one in June, 2022!

I'm getting the impression that GEI is the new purgatory. I have had two individual books from signings sitting in GEI a couple of days shy of a calendar month now. Recently it seems that if a sub hits GEI it either moves to shipped like instantaneously, or you need to get ready to wait for a looooong time. No inbetween.
