Check how many books he drew (at least in part) with the November 1961 cover date, in addition to Fantastic Four #1:

Looks like he drew 8 covers in that month alone.

Plus how many interior pages, I wonder. That to me would be the impressive part. It seems like J Scott Campbell draws 8 covers every month, though his all feature the same woman…

I knew I should have taken a photo of each page in this book before having it graded. doh!

I’m sure it is reprinted someplace, or someone here remembers the story. It is one of the less common TTAs in my experience. I’ve never owned a copy. #24-25 are also less common, at least I see them less. Coincidence, or print run variability? #26 isn’t too difficult, and #27 seems fairly common (but that has other factors too, obviously).

September 1961, breakout your wooden statuettes.

I’m conflicted about that cover. The art is good, and Moomba is menacing enough. What throws me are the motion lines. If he were swooping down and flying over the crowd it would make sense to me. But the motion lines show that he is bellyflopping onto the crowd. Why? Maybe the story reveals the reason, but that detail always snatched defeat from the jaws of victory for this cover in my mind.

:headbang: Great eye appeal with superior PQ - very nice!

Go man go! What are the last 2 - maybe we can help out?

Thanks! I was really happy with the copy. I went after a 7.5 and 8.0 earlier in the summer, but lost those. There was a silver lining since one was slightly miscut and the other miswrapped, so I didn’t go crazy on my bids. This one wasn’t going to get past me.

I also appreciate the offer of help. I’d rather not post the books I need in an open forum though. It sucks, but I’ve seen instances of people getting “punish bid” on the last books they need. If anyone wants to ask in PM I’d appreciate any help! One is common enough but I don’t want to pay the high asks. The other is very tough, very few have come up for sale and none that I’ve seen in the 6.0 range I like to stay at or above.

I’m enjoying Comiclink over HA by a mile.

I really hope we get the Invaders in the MCU once Namor arrives.

Im really excited to have this Flash grail back in my collection, I had a CGC 7.0 that I had to sell some time ago for a family emergency, this 2.5 will suffice.  Plus with everything going on with Ezra, that Flash mantle is up for grabs baby.  Folks are already loving the JSA in that new Black Adam trailer, if they get a spin off , Jay could be the solo Flash . Wouldn’t that be interesting?

I thought that was a good looking 2.5, and had a few bids on it. None of them ultimately meant anything as I was about $100 below the eventual winner. Congrats!

guess then I'm alone, I thought with the "crowds" being lager last year or most of the time, that it wasn't so bad.

Yet I rode the car in to take the train, so part of my trip was outside awaiting public transit. I'll say that was hotter. :shy:

How was overall parking, and or that experience? :wishluck:

I'm hoping not too bad!

I heard it was taking two hours to park at the height of Saturday! :tonofbricks:

I'm glad there were more pics of the crowds posted too lol

I arrived early Friday,  which I'll admit was a light day, but it got going later.

The cosplay was out in force, speaking of which they had a star wars walk down the red carpet, complete with theme music over the main intercom.

There were enough chairs in the rest area, bathrooms were consistently being cleaned and restocked. There was a band playing guitar, I took a pic of the stage earlier on, pretty cool.

It was hot as an jalapeno armpit outside, though inside was nice and cool, even for the crowds.

Plenty of families, and the con goers seemed interested in the merch. I believe there was an advertised cgc facilitator and etc.

Time was of the essence for me, as I try to do it all quickly. I waited on my brother a long time, as his had to do with lines. All in all it was fun and enjoyable.

Next year it is again in June, I'm only hoping that the weather somewhat cooperates

Would be nice if it were a bit cooler. I'm glad you were cool inside, I felt like I was sweating for about 90% of Friday and Saturday, even after cooling off from setup.

The crowd was nuts on Saturday, my pic of the celebrity area that is up a few posts doesn't even do it justice. Couldn't walk down in that area.
