  1. Kind of BS if you ask me. They're different books and should be noted as such.
  2. CGC will not grade an unsigned copy as per the Hero Initiative. The H.I. states that these were never meant to be offered for sale. Any unsketched copies out there should not be, and the artists they went to were supposed to either do a sketch that was to be auctioned off, or a "just in case" you messed up your sketch you've got a backup. As a very strong supporter of the Hero Initiative I'm disappointed artists are selling off their extra copies Interesting. I hadn't heard that - good to know!
  3. I'm sure they would, but I wouldn't do it. The book is pretty rare unsketched. Slab it blue and sketch on 109s, IMO.
  4. Thanks for the info! As a non-GIJoe guy I had no idea WTF a renegar was. Turns out it's a last name
  5. Why is this book called the 'Renegar' edition? Always wondered and a simple google search doesn't turn up much.
  6. There's another one available for $39.99, also not selling. eBay asking prices are meaningless - get your data from completed listings that have actually sold.
  7. Hamels is a stud. I'd hate to see him leave if the Phils decide to trade him.
  8. If the Phillies get Matt Kemp I will sell you one for $400. Yeah, 'cause the Phillies need another aging, oft-injured former superstar. Time to blow it up and rebuild from the bottom up. 2008 was a long, long time ago.
  9. That's the kind of stuff that makes collecting fun though. Otherwise, it's just a race to sub the nicest copies of common issues.
  10. Sweet. Is it Frank's ebay copy?
  11. Prices are high anyway if you can get a hold of him. You're better off making offers on the secondary market, IMO. I think the #1 cover could probably get close to your estimate on the open market, but it doesn't matter because you'd probably have to offer 2-3x that to get them to consider it.
  12. This. If it was once an interesting discussion, that time has passed.
  13. But comic art isn't collected outside of the context of the story. Most comic art is if you're looking at it from a purely aesthetic POV, but some of that art is highly sought after as a memento of a story the collector has interest in.
  14. You mean like you advertise your eBay auctions in your sig line every time you post? Someone asked a question about Lonestar's auctions and Lonestar gave them the answer - nothing wrong with that. Why is advertising eBay auctions here bad? Honest question. I've seen people mention this before, and have wondered what the deal was? Because there are separate forums for sales. If it were allowed here, 99% of the posts would be annoying spam.
  15. Ugh, I disagree with this guy. It's not a snore fest and I find Negan to be much different than the Gov. I like the Gov story arc better but i'm hoping AoW turns out to really be great. Right now the comic is holding my attention more than the show. +1 love the book and still look forward to it. I find the show dull in comparison.
  16. I'm not sure you're only paying for a sketch - with these you're paying for an extremely limited retailer variant edition of issue #13, that also happens to be an original piece. It's kind of like the Hero Initiative WD 100 books - you can get similar sketches on 109s but they won't be worth anywhere close because the blank 100 is a rarity.
  17. I like the coloring a lot on the #10 cover. Specifically, I like how the layers are just a bit off on the background. It gives the cover even more of a vintage/retro comic feel than already comes through on much of Chris's art, but it also adds a bit of sea sick, hallucinatory unease to the otherwise peaceful scene (well, that and the tentacles on the island ). Even if it's not intentional, it's pretty damn cool.
  18. I'm gonna go against the grain here and predict that it only jumps a little. Maybe $760 or so.
  19. Oh, I was talking about the #1 interior page I picked up on Comiclink's auction, but yeah, I do have the #1 cover too
