  1. I believe the Saviors on the rooftop referred to 'Paul's team' in issue 99 and Jesus is still the only Paul in the book . Also, Jesus...Saviors... Hope not though. He's a bad azz and I'd like to see him stick around as a good guy.
  2. +1 Solid issue! The cliffhanger definitely made me a bit nervous...
  3. Yeah, this turned out to be a pretty good pre-order at a buck fifty each ::
  4. It's not a swipe, it was the original cover of AF15 before Lee had Kirby turn in a (much, much better) version. Totally agree that $1K is crazy.
  5. I wouldn't worry about it. By the time it comes out it'll be a variant of the 6th print. Larry's Chew certainly doesn't hurt the value of that book. Released too far after the fact.
  6. No way! Fabry's Preacher covers are one of the best cover runs ever. Most Y covers are pretty nice too. If anything's holding those books back it's the fact that they're finished series with no current media tie-in activity.
  7. Sounds good to me. If you're going to get her sig on a book, I think either Comixology or #19 would be your best bet.
  8. Oh dear lord do you have your facts mixed up. Larry started the Phantom program as a direct result of the Ghost variant program [not including him]. I mean gee, his overly pleasant commentaries he's known for surely wasn't a possible factor in him being left out. He got a bit mad at that. So he created the Phantom program to get back at those meanies. Maybe if he didn't berrate people in public forums and spew vitriol in his twitter statuses he would have been included... Respectable organizations (re: Ghost Variant program) require respectable people. +1 I give zero credence to the accusations Larry throws around about respectable retailers who aren't here to defend themselves. The man seems to be a competent business owner, but he really needs a PR person to run his internet presence and save him from his own racist/homophobic/generally nasty online persona.
  9. i think CGC exists for expensive comic purchases online . If you are going to spend multi-hundreds on a RAW MODERN, I would be messaging the buyer directly and demanding a dozen high res pictures, zoomed in, of every side, corner, angle, and spine, plus forcing him to give it a numerical, in his opinion grade. If they arent willing to spend 10-15 minutes making a $200 dollar plus sale, on a book that came out this year, they are hiding stuff and trying to dump the book. I bought 15 copies of that book raw over the past year and got 13 9.8s and 2 9.6s. If one had been any worse it would have gone right back to the seller. Don't be afraid of being the one who sends the books to CGC. You'll spend less in the long run. That said, the copy shown obviously already has the price tag of a high grade CGC book and has visible damage. Not sure why you'd even give it a second glance.
  10. Where do you think this will be in 6 months Jr? $120? $150? I'm not sure where the ceiling is on this one. I just know I wish I had bought more! If there wasn't so many on the census plus the multiple prints, I would say an easy $150. I think it depends if the word of mouth continues to spread and the story keeps strong. Yeah, I don't think the number on the census will keep it under $150 for long with as much love as the series is getting. It'll definitely hit resistance at some point because of the print run, but $150 seems very realistic to me.
  11. The Allred variant of #1 wasn't 1:25. Dealers could order as many as they wanted, although I seem to remember it was solicited late and some dealers didn't order as many. Still, it's not a limited variant per se. The #2 (Santa) variant is 1:25, I believe.
  12. The 'prison' is actually Petco Park, where the Escape event took place, which makes it even cooler, IMO.
  13. Im not sure that book would take off, even with a movie or show. If it does move up it would only be slightly. The series is over. I think if it was an active series then it could boom. Have to disagree on this one. The print run is 14K and it's not an easy 9.8 at all. If there was a quality TV show based on the property, it wouldn't matter that the comic series has ended.
  14. No, he'd just submit a mutual transaction cancellation if it was shilling. That said, there's no way any of us can say that this is or is not shilling without more evidence, so it's probably best not to throw around accusations. I've had tons of ebay auctions won by zero feedback bidders who don't understand proxy bidding and just bid a lot. Everyone starts somewhere - I generally have great luck with zero feedback buyers.
  15. This title is just kinda all over the place right now. Seems to have good days and bad.
  16. I've said this before, but that book is so easy in 9.8 that there's no reason to settle for a 9.4.
  17. So Saga, Revival, Walking Dead, Bedlam? What else have they been going back to multiple printings on? Thief of Thieves. Will this make the 1st prints more desirable to obtain? Nah, most mid-run comics from other publishers don't have multiple printings and are still fairly worthless. I don't see why Image books would be any different.
  18. I wish I could control myself and not read these previews. Now the issue will take 20 seconds to read instead of the usual 30.
  19. Start a Larry thread already or bump the Phantom thread.
  20. It's not the Phantom. It's this old 'promo piece' that Riley's art rep sold a while ago: http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=928920&GSub=75615 You're right though - it's too similar.
  21. It's pretty common for people to call an item '1 of 250 in existence' without meaning that the item is THE serial number one. The fact that the stock photo happens to be '1/250' seems like an unfortunate coincidence to me. Like others have said, he's clear that the pic is a stock photo. Nico can be abrasive, but I don't think he's out to rip people off.
  22. Weird review from IGN. Juging from the length of the article and the reviewer's whining about 'too much text' in a book I read in under 10 minutes, I'm just going to have to write him off as illiterate.
