I have a hard time imagining someone adding three staples neatly to the spine of a comic with a desk stapler, and managing to keep it in NM condition.

I wondered the same thing. But it’s one of my favorite Mary covers, and because it is a Church, even has the code, well those staples don’t bother me too much. I slightly thought about “popping” them out, but I’ll just live with it. Ironically I have 3 Church books, 2 of them have extra staples.

  2. Sale rules as follows:

    No Prob members or HOS

    Payment by PayPal

No returns on slabbed books, unless damaged and we can work something out.

First take it in the post wins over PM negotiations.

Price includes shipping with Priority mail to the USA. Sorry no Canadian and Int'l buyers. I hate saying that but sometimes it’s a pain.

I’ve purchased a few things over the years on here, I’m sure BanjerD can attest for me, if not I’ll send him a nasty text. PM for any other questions, thank you

In 1985, just as TMNT began its meteoric rise into Indy comic pioneer / global pop icon, Kevin Eastman pitched Marvel on a Daredevil-TMNT cross-over.   A fascinating concept given that TMNT was a parody of Frank Miller’s Daredevil which was at peak popularity at the time.  Eastman’s tryout piece with DD and Leonardo in tandem is, I believe, one of the largest (18 x 24) and most detailed Turtles art as Eastman truly aimed to impress, escaping beyond the narrow page dimensions and manga style of early TMNT art.  Strong Miller influence and blockbuster appeal but Marvel ultimately declined (perhaps a regret in hindsight).  Anyway, here is the art (photographed through framed glass):

Note:  Eastman’s inscription “To Eric - Best Wishes!” is to a fellow boardie and the original owner of the piece. :gossip:

I remember seeing this on eBay years ago, regret not pulling the trigger. I’m the opposite. I love his early work, not so much the current style.

Lots of great discussion lately on the boards about the game-changing Swamp Thing run by Moore/Bissette/Totleben.  Inspired me to post my Swamp Thing #34 "Rite of Spring" DPS where Abby eats a piece of Swamp Thing's tuber that sends her on a hallucinogenic sexually-charged experience...to feel the collective consciousness of all plant life on earth, as Swampy does.  A head-turning (literally) piece with incredible details and mind-blowing content from Vertigo's historic artistic collaboration.

Thanks for sharing this. To actually see the pencil/inks, just gorgeous. If they actually created an Artist Edition type book from this run, I’d be all over it. To me, Bissette/Totleben were just on another level
